No rush - the access to items from the 2nd world war era actually in some countries default to WP:PD status and may not need required permissions, apart from the notion of 'courtesy'. Also if you are not fully aware of the milhist community, it is worth a wander - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Military_history - but there are also random areas where there are helpful hands...
