November 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 05:43, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I don't need a source to clean up a badly written Wikipedia entry. No explanation what SIS is or what Abwehr is, for example. Or what the book was that caused the Ellis family distress. It's common knowledge it was Pincher's Their Trade is Treachery. BanquosGhost1895 (talk) 08:52, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You do need a source to include children. Children's names should not be included unless they meet wp:notability (people). See MOS:PSEUDONYM. Please avoid "Charles Howard 'Dick' Ellis" Thank you Adakiko (talk) 09:01, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Why don't you pick up a book about Ellis then you might know who his children are! Ridiculous interference, which defeats the point of even having this page.

Information icon Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Dick Ellis. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. Adakiko (talk) 09:05, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Load of crap. You have an introductory paragraph that doesn't explain what SIS is or what Abwehr is, which I explained for the benefit of Wikipedia readers. Then you undo it. For what reason? Anyone who has half a smidgin of knowledge knows what the Abwehr is but you won't allow it to be explained without a source. It's Nazi Germany's military-intelligence service! Do I need a source to explain what the sun is or what Japan is? Ridiculous! BanquosGhost1895 (talk) 09:08, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to link SIS and describe Abwehr fine. My problem with your edit was the 'Dick' and the children's names. Suggest reading wp:CIVIL and wp:NOTBATTLEGROUND. You'll likely get more done. Adakiko (talk) 09:12, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Disambiguation link notification for February 16[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Pearl Harbor advance-knowledge conspiracy theory, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page William Donovan. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 18:01, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
