Hello Jeromeenriquez,
Thank you for the speedy review of my AfC on History of Moradabad. I respect your decision, but I'd like to humbly point out a couple of reasons why I thought a separate article makes more sense on the topicː
1- The first reason was the difference of geographical area covered in both articles. The Moradabad article covers information relevant to the main Moradabad city, so the history section there (which has also been written by me after submitting this article for review) focuses more on the historical aspects of the city region alone. This History of Moradabad article, on the other hand, deals with the history of Mordabad district, which consists not only of the Mordabad city but other smaller towns and some villages around it that collectively form the larger district. It also includes history of some other areas which are separate districts now but were part of the Moradabad district until recently, such as Amroha district and Sambhal district.
2- The second why I thought that it makes more sense to have this as a separate article was because of the depth of coverage. The history section that I've written for the Moradabad page has about 1,500 words only because it also needs to cover a lot of other relevant information about the city without overwhelming the reader. So I thought that if someone wants to read in-depth about the history of Moradabad, then let's create a separate article for them and add a "Main article" wikilink at the top of history section to that article. That's why I created this article, which is more than 5,000̟ words.
I personally felt that at 5,300 words it had sufficient content to pass the need of a separate article. Maybe I was wrong or I missed something as I'm a farily new Wikipedian. It will be helpful if you can recommend me some guidelines that provide some sort of checklist for the criteria of "sufficient content". I'll go through it and edit my article accordingly before re-submitting it for a review. Thank you. Ashishb04 (talk) 12:42, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
