How can I contact

Hi Annlaver - we don't seem to have a User:Bmcin1 - if you mean User:Bmcln1 their talk page is User talk:Bmcln1
As for tildes they are almost exclusively used on Wikipedia for signatures. The standard use is 4 tildes ~~~~ which leaves your name, date and time.
Some keyboards make tildes difficult to type, but in the "advanced" option of the standard edit window you can click the third symbol from the left.
Three and five tildes leave different signatures (please see Wikipedia:Signatures) but these are very rarely used - -Arjayay (talk) 09:22, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Ann. I got your message on my Talk page and answered there: "Thanks for your comment. I think you're right. It could do on his father's page. The problem with Thomas Arnold is that there are so many other things to say about him and I'm not sure that the identity of his great-grandfather etc. are really relevant to them."
