Hi[edit]

Hi, sure, I'll check that. BTW, some inline refs are needed for the closing ceremony section.--GDibyendu (talk) 12:37, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand why you think some people want that article to be deleted. Where did you see it? Do you have a diff?--GDibyendu (talk) 17:48, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Few suggestions:

1. No article is your or mine, you should not think an article to be your own, even if you are the sole contributor so far. See WP:OWN. 2. When adding message in other's talk page, please add in the end (not in the beginning) or add in the section on the same context. (like this one) 3. If you do not tell which article, then others may not be interested enough to browse through your talk page and all to figure out which article you are talking about. 4. You cannot protect a page against deletion request, you can however debate on this on the designated deletion page or on the talk page of the article. 5. Removing messages from your talk page is your choice, but it does not wipe out the text and anyone can find out what message you have deleted. Thanks.--GDibyendu (talk) 06:55, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure what you are expecting. Best way to save an article is to work hard on it and get a GA assessment. Find out the criteria for an article to meet GA rating. Getting FA is even better, but that's much harder to get.--GDibyendu (talk) 20:13, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Message on my talk[edit]

Hi. Nice to see the new articles, they are good (do not confuse with Good articles, have not reached there yet) , but need a little finishing. Also whenever want to leave a message on the discussion or someone's talk, use "+" at the top. By convention, newer discussions at the end of the talk. Leave me a message if you need any suggestions for improvement of articles or any help, I will try to address your queries. --Redtigerxyz Talk 11:12, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2006 South Asian Games[edit]

Hi
Why did you remove the logo from the 2006 South Asian Games article with this edit?
Amalthea 12:56, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Amalthea, why do you ask? Anyway, the logo that I got was somewhat incorrect, and of low resolution, as my camera was defective. Sorry. If you want description of logo, tell me and I will put it up on the article page.
Cheers,
Ankitbhatt (talk) 10:15, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I ask because you didn't explain in the edit summary, because it was deleted in the meantime as an orphaned fair-use image (even if you take the picture of the logo you still don't own copyright of the image alone), and I was wondering if the logo was maybe incorrect. Since it apparently wasn't I'm going to look for a better version and reupload it.
Thank you, Amalthea 13:23, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Afro-Asian Games[edit]

That wasn't me, see the history. I just removed an incorrect protection template. Debresser (talk) 18:05, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your message; I've rated the article. Warofdreams talk 02:42, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reply[edit]

Yes, please remove the flagicons and countries, as this is a list of cities and the GaWC list itself did not list countries.--Balthazarduju (talk) 16:38, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Other editors already discussed this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Global_city#Trimmed_layout. If the table is actually about the countries, then the flag icon is necessary, however in this case it is not. It would be extraneous to the article. Also, the GaWC roster did not emphasize on national origin, and if the source itself did, then it would be okay. You by adding it, puts undue importance to the icons.--Balthazarduju (talk) 16:57, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Check the revision history, I didn't delete your whole table, another user did.--Balthazarduju (talk) 05:49, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Infobox Indian Jurisdiction[edit]

Please be extremely cautious when dealing with {{Infobox Indian Jurisdiction}}, which appears on a large number of pages. Changing 250px to 400px was found to be terribly messy. It's not proper to change it to 400px without appropriate discussion on the Talk. Please correct me, incase I have made a mistake. Thanks, KensplanetTC 15:54, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2003 Afro-Asian Games Peer Review[edit]

I fixed the dab link for INR and linked crore in the article to show what I meant. There is one ref for the stadia - it does not give capacities for three, but the article does. What is the source for those figures? I think questions on refs like this and the missing publishers for internet sources would come up at FAC. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:30, 3 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The infobox is partially broken on my computer at least - several fields are blank that have data in them (I opened the article to edit it and saw them there). Nations, Athletes, and Main Stadium are all blank. I also think it should have an image of some sort (beyond the tiny flag icon). Ruhrfisch ><>°° 02:51, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding FIITJEE[edit]

Please don't feel offended if you have this article, currently nominated for Afd.If you disagree with this article's deletion, then share your thoughts at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/FIITJEE. As far as notability is concerned, one of the user has given a good arguement:"Has little or no encyclopaedic value. Even if they are famous, they are not institutions in themselves. They derive their notability from being linked to a particular exam."--Shashankgupta (talk) 10:58, 3 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like you've done some good work on the article. Well done! I imagine it's been quite hard to get the material together as there won't be as many in depth reports as, say, there are for an Olympic event. Echoing the comments of Ruhrfisch, I think a smaller infobox would be better (it currently takes up half of the screen on my monitor). Modelling it on the 2004 Summer Olympics infobox would be a good idea as there is only basic information in there (and the same for 20** Afro-Asian Games too).

In terms of highlights from the athletics program, it's difficult because although many of the athletes have gone on to win numerous Olympic medals etc, few of them had achieved anything at this point. However, you could add that:

He's pretty much an athletics great, so probably worth mentioning.

I've not got much more advice for the page, although finding references for the "Games Village" section would help. I've fixed a couple of format problems myself. If you can find out the reason why they had a combined African team competing at some events, that would be useful too. Cheers. Sillyfolkboy (talk) (edits)WIKIPROJECT ATHLETICS NEEDS YOU! 15:51, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I found and uploaded a WP:Fair use image of the official logo and Sheroo and added that to the infobox - that is what I meant by adding a lead image. As for the short paragraphs, I looked at the "Transport" section - it has four sentences in three paragraphs, but to my eye all four sentences could be combined in one paragraph. I also noticed that at least some of the refs still need publisher info added. Sorry that I do not have time to help more, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 14:09, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Ankitbhatt. You have new messages at Abutorsam007's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Hi Ankitbhatt,

Thanks for contributing to the Metro systems by annual passenger rides article, however, we have reverted your edits because they left the article a mess. Please do not use articles as a sandbox. If you make edits to an article, they should leave it in a usable form. If you'd like you can create subpages of your userpage (like User:Ankitbhatt/Metro systems by annual passenger rides in which to work on a revision and then, when it is complete, copy it back to the main article (but make sure to include any changes that have happened on the main article since then.

In addition, it's not really clear why you decided to convert the list into a table. While a table is slightly more structured, the list seems to serve this article quite well. For example, the items in this list are often moved, right now all we need to do to move is copy and paste, with a table you would also have to change all the ranks by hand. A table might also be useful if there were more columns which could be sorted or compared, but that is not the case in this article, which focuses only on annual ridership. You may be interested in the article Comparison of rapid transit systems, which lists a number of different statistics about metro systems, feel free to expand it if you can (and please cite sources where you can (but note that the images are intentionally commented out because of a copyright dispute). Cheers, — sligocki (talk) 18:14, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Usually I do not assess an article I have assessed before. If the comments I have left are addressed, [citation needed] tags I leave are addressed (remove sentences or provide references), I will upgrade it to B (if no other editor does that before me). I will comment on the reliability of ref too. --Redtigerxyz Talk 14:06, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I almost never assess articles either, but will try to take a look at it and make some suggestions on the talk page in the next few days. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 20:37, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

HI. Fill out the Highlights section and add citations to those marke,d then I will mark it as B class. Himalayan 15:34, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would still work on POV language and add a fair use rationale for the University seal. I see others have offered to rate it B class, so I will leave the rating to them. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 11:38, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'll do anything I can, but I am surprisingly busy so I'm sorry if I don't get round to it. DeMoN2009 16:45, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You can approach the assessment department of WP:India for re-evaluation of the article.--GDibyendu (talk) 09:38, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, please read the detailed B Class criteria at Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment. The first part reads The article is suitably referenced, with inline citations where necessary. It has reliable sources, and any important or controversial material which is likely to be challenged is cited. So yes, it is that important. You have two choices to get it to B class: 1) find reliable sources and add refs, or 2) remove the unreferenced material (perhaps move it to the talk page in the hope that refs will be found and it can be added back in). Hope this helps, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 20:44, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I changed it to B class based on additional references, but will not revert if someone else changes it. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 15:27, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I do not review articles related to WP India or WP Hinduism as I am actively involved with the projects. If you want suggestions for GA, I will take a look. --Redtigerxyz Talk 15:20, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Waterfalls, waterfalls, waterfalls![edit]

Feeling wikistress? Wish you could have a vacation someplace with two dozen waterfalls? Well the next best thing is here!

If you want to, please come look at pictures of waterfalls and pick which ones you like best. You'll be helping make a better article too.

Thanks, Dincher (talk) and Ruhrfisch ><>°° 15:27, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. That wikilink again: User talk:Ruhrfisch/Waterfalls

Thanks - we are going to include a photo of each waterfall in the list article and your choice for Shawnee is the current leader in the votes for that waterfall (you can vote for the others too, if you want). We are also going to include two or three waterfall pictures in the main article. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 14:52, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Happy Thanksgiving! I am thankful for you and your contributions here! Ruhrfisch ><>°° 22:19, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
