AfD nomination of Modern demographic transition[edit]

An editor has nominated Modern demographic transition, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Modern demographic transition and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 16:01, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. The article above was deleted following discussion for failing to meet some of Wikipedia's core policies. This does not mean that you can't create such an article, but it must cite to reliable sources that can verify the article's claims and provide evidence that the term is in widespread enough usage to be notable for encyclopedic purposes. (You might see our guideline on neologisms. If the term is used, but its use is not widespread, it may not be an appropriate subject for our encyclopedia.) Such citations will also help to demonstrate that the article summarizes published information and is not original research. If you have any questions about any of the policies or guidelines here (all tucked away behind the colored text), you can ask them at Wikipedia's help desk, typically manned around the clock by volunteers. You can even ask them right here, simply by writing your question here & copying the template {{help me}} just above or below it. This will bring a volunteer to your page, usually within about an hour. Thank you, and we do appreciate your contributions. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:26, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
