English Muffin[edit]

May I asked why you removed the part about roman spear points on the English muffin article? Someone on the talk page asked for more info on that some time ago. I googled to find more/confirmation - other pages merely confirm what was written without expaining it further, or what these things are. Um yes so why did you remove it? Just curious! Hello. I'm writing regarding edits you made on the licensing codes for 1922 0121 krazykat det 650.jpg and 1937 1107 kkat brick 500.jpg. Last month I created these digital images from scans of original newspaper pages that I own. On the advice of another editor I assigned a licensing code of GFDL. It's a debatable point, which is why I left Jim out of the list. He seems more human and less sentimentalized/romanticized than the other characters on the list. About your nickname for the $20 bill[edit]

You say that there is a common nickname for the $20 bill that you put on the U.S. twenty dollar bill page that was most common in the early 20th century. According to the very reputable etymology-and-usage site Language Hat [1] and other sources, the term "sawbuck" as applied to a $10 bill dates back to the 19th century. I would guess the term "double sawbuck" was used for the Cleveland note. I know that the slang phrase shows up in the detective fiction of the 1930s and 1940s. Andrewlevine 23:55, 1 Apr 2004 (UTC)

History of the United States 1988-Present NPOV dispute[edit]

Hi there Andrew - I was reading this article tonight and noticed a paragraph which you added which I believes shows a little hint of bias. The paragraph in question specifically is about the pull out of support for Operation Iraqi Freedom from Spain and South Korea. You fail to mention the 11 March 2004 Madrid attacks in Spain which influenced that election drastically. In addition, South Korea also had impeachment hearings against its President, which led to the rival party to gain wins in its Parliament.

Napier's bones[edit]

I noticed you were planning to work on the square root section of Napier's bones. I found the current machine translation troublesome to deal with, and have started to write a first draft from scratch. Didn't want to step on your toes if you're working on something similar, but if you haven't started on it, would be great if you think starting from scratch might be more trouble than it's worth, or suggest things that would improve this draft etc etc.

Article Licensing[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "{{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}}" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. Many of the candidates for the June 14, 2005, congressional primary have been proposed for deletion. I am writing those who worked on election articles to request that they offer their votes against the proposal. It is my view that we ought to provide a complete record of the election and my deleting so called "minor" candidates we do a disservice to them and the historical record. MTG article[edit]

You re-inserted this phrase - "its premise and storyline are given little to no notice by many players."

I respect most of your other work on the article, but I think that phrase is jaded, wrong, and irrelevant. All players give at least notice to the the premise and storyline because the mechanics are based so much on flavor (Ninjitsu, equipment, etc.). The only group that perhaps comes close to ignoring the "premise and stroyline" are Pro Tour players, but that is a vast minority or players. Above all, what is the point of the phrase? It might be appropriate as a counter-point if the article were asserting the opposite viewpoint, but the player/storyline isn't mentioned anywhere in the article. The second paragraph starts with "In the game's primary fictional setting". Boom. Right there the context of the planswalker idea is set in place, without saying anything about how players interact with it.

I think the article doesn't need any comment about what players think of the "premise and storyline". If I thought it did, I'd instead be pointing out how many fiction books are sold and describe the mechanic/flavor relationship to show that most players do follow the storyline. I just think your phrase is a personal viewpoint that doesn't have a place in the article. Perhaps you could more neutrally state something like "the game can be played without paying any attention to the storyline". Even so, you should add such a comment to the Storyline section or on Magic: The Gathering storylines. -- Netoholic @ 19:51, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

would you please go back to this page and remove your interleaved comments from within my list of biases? I feel it is an inconsiderate and improper format for you to interleave unsigned comments. please choose a different format, perhaps copy the relevant text you are commenting on then your comment. As you wrote it, you force me to go back and sign each paragraph individually, then add an unsigned comment tag to your individual comments. Please think of the work you might cause others. the list of biases were requested by the previous author, they all exist, some of them argue for one usage and some for the other. I don't have a personal stake or strong feeling one way or the other and my comments were not intended as propaganda and there's no point in arguing directly with me. Please.

Just please reformat your comments so I don't have to because that will look really sketchy, most people don't welcome having their comments refactored or reformatted. Neither do I and effectively that is what you did, by commenting within my comment. Imagine the hyperparenthetical discussions that would ensue if everyone did that. And look at how unreadable my list (I remind you the list was specifically requested from the Countering Systemic Bias project members) has become with your interleaved comments... it becomes a mass of apparently unsigned argument and counter argument. Your comments would be more effective if they were collected into one place. Thanks for taking the few moments to correct this please. I really appreciate you not making me do it. So I split them, to create welfare (disambiguation) and welfare (financial aid). I've also copied the talk pages over. But in the process of doing this, I ran into an edit lock with you. Do you think it makes more sense how it is now?

I plan to check what links to welfare and correct any links that ought to point to welfare (financial aid) - though Wikipedia is responding painfully slowly at the moment, so it might take a little while.
