==Question from my talk page==

{{helpme}} My picture thumbnail won't go where I want it to, also How do I get copyright tags for pictures that do not have any??

See Wikipedia:Picture tutorial for help on how to format images. Assuming you're talking about Image:BTTcan.jpg, that's a logo which is presumably copyrighted and being used under fair use. See Wikipedia:Logos, but you'll probably want to use {{Non-free logo}} and {{logo fur}}}. Algebraist 11:21, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} How can you block vandalism on an article?

Depends on the circumstances.
  • If a number of IP's are vandalising the article, then request semi-protection at RFPP.
  • If a single IP or registered user is the vandal, then first warn them at least once with the templates at WP:WARN. It's best to start with a level 1 warning for test edits, level 2 for plain ol' vandalism and level 3 for extreme bad faith vandalism. Once you have a given a final or only warning, then you can report them to Administrator intervention against vandalism.
  • If a number of registered users are vandalising the article or there is a clear content dispute, request full protection at RFPP.
Hope this helps! NF24(radio me!) 00:47, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} Can I delete an article I made instead? I kinda borrowed some of the material without asking anyway, it may be in copyright infrigement

If you created the article, and no editors have made substantial changes to the page, you can add {{db-author}} to the top of the page, and it should be deleted. - Rjd0060 (talk) 05:32, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Philip Gelinas[edit]

A tag has been placed on Philip Gelinas, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Sting_au Talk 03:56, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Try formating a lot more content before you load it onto Wiki? Editors are going to keep tagging stuff they see as poor content. Even the bots will cause you some grief if you don't work out Categories etc etc. Sting_au Talk 04:09, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and the uncategorized tag I placed on your article will prompt editors good at finding what categories article go in to come look at your page. Tags are good because they alert people who can help you. Sting_au Talk 04:15, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How do I do that? I'm new to this

Read the tutorial in the links above. That will get you started. Don't forget to sign your talk page comments with four tildes. Sting_au Talk 04:13, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

November 2007[edit]

{{help me}} Ah gotcha, I wasn't sure if the logo counts as copyright violation or not and frustrated with the vandalism flagged it to get it taken down. Amoores (talk) 05:18, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the logo is presumably a copyrighted image, so any use on wikipedia would have to be justified as "fair use". This would work in the article on the organization, if you write a "fair use rationale". A non-free image without a fair use rationale will eventually get removed anyway. License tagging for Image:CoteBelts.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CoteBelts.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot 09:05, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:N612735369 1235243 1825.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:N612735369 1235243 1825.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 17:42, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Holanda3.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Holanda3.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 08:41, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Holanda2.jpg[edit]

I have tagged Image:Holanda2.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. MER-C 08:41, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:CoteBelts.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:CoteBelts.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. --aktsu (t / c) 06:19, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of automated file description generation[edit]

Your upload of File:BTTCan2.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Orphaned non-free image File:BTT Canada Logo.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:BTT Canada Logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:45, 19 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
