Welcome! (We can't say that loud/big enough!)[edit]

Hello, Ammienoot! Thank you so much for coming along to the University of Edinburgh's ILW 2015 editathon and for your contributions. Now that you've learned how to edit, I hope that you'll continue helping make Wikipedia better, one edit at a time. Don't worry about being perfect: none of us are! Fortunately there's a whole team of editors just like you who can help.

History of Medicine editathon[edit]

Hello again, Ammienoot!
Apologies for taking so long to get back to you after last week but am just recovering from the flu. Thank you so much for hosting, guest speaking & taking part in the History of Medicine editathon. Just so you know, we uploaded in excess of 500 images to Wiki Commons, created 4 brand new articles on Wikipedia, and improved a further 56! For the event page, click here or to see the whole illustrated story of the event then you can click here: Storify: ILW editathon 2016
I hope that you enjoyed the day, and that we'll see you on Wiki again soon.

Now that you've learned - or refreshed - the basics of editing using Wikipedia’s Visual Editor, I hope that you'll stay logged in and edit or create more articles. I've added some booklets and some links below that you may find useful.

Welcome! Now have some cake...

Here is a link to a User Guide which covers the main things to remember about using Visual Editor.

See you soon! Ewan / Stinglehammer (talk) 02:02, 24 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki meet[edit]

Hi, you are cordially invited to our next ScotWiki meetup. The National Library of Scotland is extremely accessible via train for those travelling from outside the city, and via bus for Edinburgh residents. Its visitor centre offers food, drinks, and WiFi and should give us plenty of room to meet and have a chat after work!

Join the ScotWiki Mailing list!

If you can't attend this meetup, but are interested in possibly attending other Wikimedia events in Scotland, or want to keep track of what's going on in the Scottish World of Wiki, join the ScotWiki Mailing List now!

Hopefully see you there, Stinglehammer (talk) 11:36, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[edit]

Hello, this isn't a very Wikipedian comment but I just wanted to thank you personally for creating an entry for my mother Ann Katharine Mitchell. She is in residential care with Alzheimers, serene and contented, and largely lives in the past. She was told recently that she had a Wikipedia entry and was flattered and delighted to see it (I've now made some revisions). It isn't the purpose of your editing to give the subjects pleasure, of course, but thanks for doing so! Jonathan Mitchell 51.6.98.32 (talk) 13:05, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

In case you happen to check back - I'd like to say thank you for leaving such a lovely piece of feedback. I created your mother's biography as part of an editathon celebrating women of science for Ada Lovelace Day 2016. My pure chance I spotted your very kind words today, when finalising another biography as part of the Ada Lovelace Day 2017. I'm so please my little efforts gave your mother pleasure. Confused[edit]

You told me on twitter that you wanted help. I spent sometime creating a picture and you deleted it. With no edit summary?? Victuallers (talk) 11:40, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Victuallers: Hi there - so sorry about that. No offence meant *at all* and very grateful for help. I made the edit on my mobile and it didn't give me a clear option to add an edit summary. I left a note on the Talk page as the most obvious / easy thing I could see how to do at the time but clearly it wasn't that obvious. I've removed the image again and left a proper edit summary this time because I don't think this image is of her. The newspaper article credits the image as Mrs Christine Harding. However, I have been in touch with Maurice Casey and he is contacting her legatee to see if we can get permission to use a photo from her estate. Fingers crossed! A page you started (Felipe Bustos Sierra) has been reviewed![edit]

Thanks for creating Felipe Bustos Sierra.

User:Rosguill while reveiwing this page as a part of our page curation process had the following comments:

There doesn't appear to be enough coverage of the subject to meet the general notability guideline. Having made only one feature length film, albeit a very-well received one, falls a bit short of WP:NCREATIVE. You could argue that Sierra just squeaks by on WP:ANYBIO thanks to awards won for Nae Pasaran, but I would suggest that you try to find more coverage in reliable, independent sources regardless.

To reply, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Rosguill}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ .
