A barnstar for you!

The Civility Barnstar
You really proved your civility during the John Bauer incident. Would that more users handled difficult situations as good as you did. Sorry if this barn star appears below, but the message is a template and is automatically placed. w.carter-Talk 21:19, 15 August 2014 (UTC)

I got tired of waiting for others. Fiddle Faddle 18:24, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
Thank you, Timtrent. I appreciate your help and interest. And I hope the article serves as an interest to others. Alrich44 (talk) 19:07, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
Bizarrely, I used to want to be a metallurgist. Silly me! Anyway, now ask for a GOCE look at it with a view to GA. Fiddle Faddle 19:17, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
Tis a small world, so in reading this, you got to have a vicarious experience. I like those too. Which reminds me, I still want to read "How to make knife" book; it's online. I've seen vids on YouTube that use only handtools too. Next best thing if you cannot pour or forge your own. Who knows, my neighbors may be surprised some day what could appear in my backyard. I've done stained-glass work too; that has a good feeling and a wonderful thing to behold regularly.
I'm on the GOCE thang, thanks for the reminder. Alrich44 (talk) 20:06, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
Isn't the editing process interesting? The good thing is that nothing is wasted. Removed material can be added into the other articles, and it needed to be written first in order to be edited down. GOCE folk have a wealth of experience in cutting to the chase, and we, as article creators, need to be brave enough to stand back and watch and learn. And, of course, argue our corner if we feel the need to do so! Metallurgy as a degree course was not all I expected of it, so I did other things. I never liked iron much, I wanted to work with the platinum group of metals. No obvious opportunities back int eh early 1970s. Fiddle Faddle 12:37, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

Copy-edit complete

Not done I've reviewed the c/e and have found it unsatisfactory; therefore I've returned it to the Requests page. See the Blitz page for details. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 04:59, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
Hello Baffle gab1978, I looked at both the Blitz page and request page and did not see details. My main question is do you think it NPOV? Alrich44 (talk) 13:54, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
I did my best to remove the POV. All the best, Miniapolis 22:39, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
Hello Miniapolis, Thank you for your significant effort on the MSG article. Baffle gab1978, what do you think? Alrich44 (talk) 12:52, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
Well I don't normally review my fellow coordinators' work; I trust Miniapolis to do a fine job with what's there and I'm busy elsewhere. I rejected the first c/e because I thought it inadequate (minor changes; typos added), not for NPOV reasons. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 05:31, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

October 2014

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to The Four Spiritual Laws may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

Cru and Four Spiritual Laws

Hey, I noticed you moved the horrible Four Spiritual Laws page into the organization page for Cru. I'm wondering why the Bible verses were changed to the King James Version and some of the text does not match the booklet. Actually I'm wondering why the booklet is being reprinted on Wikipedia at all. Seems like that would be a copyright violation? I know someone else decided to do that probably a long time ago. I was thinking maybe it would be better to kill the section on Cru's page and nominate the Four Spiritual Laws article for deletion? Not sure how to do that after a move has been set up. Disambiguation link notification for October 28

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hiking equipment

It's great that you have decided to flesh out the bare bones of this article and I hope my comments and edits are helpful. It would be good if you can find the time to work further on it and remove dubious comments, which don't deal directly with equipment, and offers advice that is a not appropriate for an encyclopaedia, for example the section 'Knowledge'. Rwood128 (talk) 16:30, 28 October 2014 (UTC)

Rwood128, Thanks for helping with it and the positive comment. I'm having a similar conversation on the copy-editor's decline page.[1] Alrich44 (talk) 16:46, 28 October 2014 (UTC)
  • I'm not surprised that the Guild declined, but at least they offered useful advice.
  • I've made a change to 'Knowledge', but distress signals aren't appropriate to this article--just the whistle or mirror. I'm guilty of reducing the original article to a list, because of previous problems with it, and not having sufficient time, or interest to do what you are attempting. Best of luck -- and I'll try to help, if I can find time. Rwood128 (talk) 17:00, 28 October 2014 (UTC)

Cleanup

Hi Alrich44, I've started cleaning up the article, I'll be leaving referenced text that I've removed on the article's talk page, which may be needed if I break any references or need it later. I'm currently going through and removing some of the more obviously irrelevant text, and doing some other cleanup work. Feel free to conatct me, and if you think I'm going too far you can revert me and I'll stop (or just tell me to stop!). I'll procedurally decline the c/e request; you can always ask again when the article's more developed. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 12:05, 29 October 2014 (UTC)

Ref

This ref [2] does not mention the disease in question? Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 16:05, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

User:Doc James, The ref does specify diabetes in the opening sentence, one of the significant contributing diseases that cause candidiasis. This reference came from the Managing Diabetes article. Alrich44 (talk) 16:32, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

Ref

Please add a high quality ref to support "Managing diabetes and preventing diabetes type 2 may prevent candidiasis." Refs are important. Best Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 17:12, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

User:Doc James, I tagged it as needing a reference. Even though there is a logical association between two, I also would like to see at least one reference explain their interaction holistically. You're also invited in joining the search. Alrich44 (talk) 17:37, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
User:Doc James, I've added a couple. If you or I find another, then we have a place for it. Thanks for helping with the edits. Alrich44 (talk) 18:15, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
But neither one of the refs says managing DM prevents yeast infections. The content you add needs to be supported by the refs provided. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 20:59, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
