It appears that you have created a page about yourself in the main article space. This is discouraged. Please read Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline before you proceed. You might also want to check out the notability guideline for musicians. Cheers. Dina 22:44, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah. I have had a read through the links you mentioned there. I did not realise this was a problem. I am not sure if I can claim to reach the notability guidelines either. I had felt that having been played on Irish National Radio (though not in rotation) at prime time, and having rubbed shoulders with some high quality electronic musicians, as well as my work on film (one such piece won an award at the Galway Film Festival), might justify my placement in Wikipedia. What do you think? Alex Leonard 22:54, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again Dina. I'm not entirely sure what should be done next? Is it good practice for me to revert the content of the page to it's original form? I definitely don't want to do the wrong thing in my first few hours of having a wikipedia account! Alex Leonard 23:06, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry, a lot of people make the same mistake. But I do think you are probably not notable enough for a Wikipedia article. Reverting to the original version (a redirect to the accented word) would be a fine way to handle it. If you want to write about yourself, you can do it on your user page User:Alexleonard. Cheers. Ok. Thanks for the pointers there Dina. I'll have to work on my music a little more! Once I've gotten some reliable sources and some more albums under my belt maybe someone will feel that I'm notable! I'll definitely have a better look at my user page and try and get used to the formatting stuff. Cheers! Alex Leonard 23:16, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Lakker[edit]

Hello, Alexleonard,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Lakker should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lakker .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Jjjjjjdddddd (talk) 23:33, 9 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jjjjjjdddddd,

Thanks so much for letting me know. I have added comments on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lakker , and I've tried to continue improving the article (I should have spent more time on the initial writing but had to head off to work). I hope that the new additions to the Lakker page help to show improved notoriety, but I am a noob on editing Wikipedia..!

Alex Leonard (talk) 08:28, 10 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, it's fine, everyone was new once! I saw your edits and comment, and I withdrew my nomination, as I thought your edits improved the page enough to be a standing article. Thanks for your contributions thus far to the wiki, and we hope you stay! Best, Jjjjjjdddddd (talk) 09:02, 10 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks L3X1! I'll read up on those Alex Leonard (talk) 13:00, 10 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
