Hi Moriwen,
Thanks for the message.
I am unsure about how to provide a reference for the date of a photograph, or signature. Nevertheless, I can confirm that these are correct based upon the extensive research, which I have undertaken in relation to the publication of various books about this subject:

I hope this is sufficient to appease your concerns? 82.38.214.91 (talk) 21:05, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Ashburton: ordering of names[edit]

About a month ago you made two changes to the Ashburton page with the comment "Correct alphabetical ordering of surname". So far as Wills is concerned your correction is clearly right and no one will argue. The case of McNichol is less clear cut, as the traditional British way of treating names beginning with Mc or M' is to order them as if spelled Mac. Like everything else the UK this convention is being driven out by the American custom of ordering them as spelled, not by what they mean, but I don't think the old way is dead yet. Many thanks ... sorry for the belated reply. You are quite correct of course. My apologies for my error. Bw, 82.38.214.91 (talk) 09:09, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Bertram Fletcher Robinson, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 23:26, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much for your constructive criticism. Please do accept my earnest apologies for mistakenly giving the impression I plagiarised my uploads. You were of course quite right to point this out and remove the content. I have now rewritten the content in both the sections as you suggested. I hope this is acceptable. A tag has been placed on Talk:Bertram Fletcher Robinson/GA1 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

This did not undergo a spot check or a thorough review, the "Writing and editorial career" section is way too long, and I can note some instances of redundancy such as here where it says "Bertram Fletcher Robinson died aged 36 years on 21 January 1907".

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.  750h+ | Talk  09:43, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
