@Justiyaya Thanks. I plan to get an account one of these days... 71.228.112.175 (talk) 07:16, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not use vague wording[edit]

I said "what the hell?" Because I assumed you didn't want me to edit. Please do not use such wording because I'm not a newbie on this site, I just may have edits that come off as unpolished, or immediately tweak things upon noticing something overlooked. I can't have the time to find citations, so such comment was kind of... maybe just... not really advice? WannurSyafiqah74 (talk) 12:59, 24 August 2022 (UTC) (I assumed it was vague wording telling me "please don't edit if you can't cite anything" - WP:CIVILITY)[reply]

@WannurSyafiqah74: please remain civil. Polyamorph (talk) 13:36, 24 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry. I assumed what the person said was directly telling me to stop editing here... if that's fine, I didn't want to remove the message myself, so I stroke it out. I'll be less rude next time.
Feel free to warn me about this. I won't mind. WannurSyafiqah74 (talk) 14:08, 24 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@WannurSyafiqah74 You are not a newbie on WP, but you are sticking with "As for finding citations, I really just don't have the time to look" and "I can't have the time to find citations"?
Since you are not a newbie, you already know that when you add material, you must add a reference at the same time. Otherwise, you are adding unsourced material, which can and often is removed immediately. I am not an administrator, and I would not take you to a drama board, but as you also know, editors have been and continue to be blocked for repeatedly adding unsourced material to articles. If you don't add the sources at the same time, it looks like you are adding Original Research which, as you know, is not allowed.
Since you are not a newbie, your statements that you can't be bothered to add sources is confusing to me. But of course you can do whatever you feel is right.
@Polyamorph Thanks for the comment about civility. 71.228.112.175 (talk) 21:24, 24 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for specifying. At first, I assumed you told me not to edit here in general. I'll try my best to find sources, if that is fine. WannurSyafiqah74 (talk) 06:39, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@WannurSyafiqah74 Ah, I see there was more discussion at the Teahouse, so my comments here might be redundant now. Cheers. 71.228.112.175 (talk) 02:50, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's fine! It's my fault for coming off as rude before. You explained yourself in a civil manner, so I'm here to try and be civil as well. WannurSyafiqah74 (talk) 06:41, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. I said this in the Teahouse:
P.S. yes, I know searching on Google would be very quick, but I assumed that finding anything reliable would take a long time. I know this came across as admitting "lol I'm a lazy editor, is that okay?" But honestly, I'll try to be cautious next time. I'm mostly gonna keep a lookout on TV show articles, since anonymous contributors like to add stuff they make up there (for whatever reason).
I don't think I can mention IPs, so this is the best way to do it, I supposs. WannurSyafiqah74 (talk) 06:46, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@WannurSyafiqah74 Thanks. I plan to get an account, but I haven't yet. 71.228.112.175 (talk) 08:55, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome. Just make sure to come up with a username you prefer! WannurSyafiqah74 (talk) 11:36, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Anna Wintour[edit]

I clarified this, which of course needed it, but you could have done so yourself the same way I did: by checking the source. Daniel Case (talk) 19:15, 24 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Daniel Case Ah, thanks for checking that -- I should have read the source. So, "it" (before my update) wasn't really accurate, because "it" doesn't generally refer to two people. You fixed my change, and that's great. Next time, I'll verify. 71.228.112.175 (talk) 21:48, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Daniel Case (talk) 00:07, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Daniel Case I just checked out your user talk page. Wow, that's a lot of work that you do!
I just don't see what people get out of vandalizing, or even just being rude to others. Anyway, I send you all the respect. 71.228.112.175 (talk) 03:51, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

I wanted to thank you for the edits you made on Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk, but couldn't find the "Thank" button. Thank you! Weeklyd3 (talk) 22:51, 30 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Weeklyd3 You are welcome! 71.228.112.175 (talk) 04:52, 31 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Weeklyd3 You can only thank registered users - it's a built-in feature. WannurSyafiqah74 (talk) 08:46, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@WannurSyafiqah74, @Weeklyd3 I need to register... Having trouble deciding on a name... 71.228.112.175 (talk) 08:51, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I see - you may get tips from other editors or use generators. Whichever works. WannurSyafiqah74 (talk) 08:56, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Be wary of trolls, 2019Rocks is possibly one[edit]

Wikipedia is still up, but 2019Rocks didn't get the memo. Not to mention the guy called you "idiotic" (typical troll behavior?). Either way, as much as people make unrelated threads on the Teahouse, for now, we should watch out for threads like "Wikipedia is down!" - not threads that are obviously lighthearted jokes. WannurSyafiqah74 (talk) 08:50, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I would say those are like "bad jokes", considering the guy wasn't even funny with their thread. They're indeff'ed now - figured I might tell you this, though. WannurSyafiqah74 (talk) 08:50, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@WannurSyafiqah74 I saw that the user was indeffed. The other edit they made which I looked at was definitely vandalism : [1] 71.228.112.175 (talk) 08:56, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't specify before and just said "not to mention the guy called you idiotic". Didn't know the guy was also a vandal, too! How typical.
At least they've been dealt with. That, and concern trolls too. Issue is it can be hard to tell with tones and intents of threads, so... I guess this shall be left as a suggestion? WannurSyafiqah74 (talk) 08:59, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Anyway, in sum: I don't wanna judge every single unrelated thread, as someone may not read what the Teahouse is for. However, I guess if the bad joke is obvious, it is a red flag. WannurSyafiqah74 (talk) 09:00, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@WannurSyafiqah74 Yep, thanks. 71.228.112.175 (talk) 09:15, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
