is there a way to edit footnotes as a block? i find it difficult to jump back and forth (sometimes scrolling endlessly) between a "preview" mode (at top of screen) and the "edit box" (at bottom of screen) when trying to conform, stylistically, various footnotes. workaround attempts -

• 1. opening 2 windows (one with aritcle) and another with "edit box" is also distracting.
• 2. clicking the edit link of the footnotes section only offers the "reflist|3" (hugged by double braces on both ends) entry

each of the 3 methods described above cause me to lose my train of thought...ugh. as a result i tend to ignore editing (even cleanup) of footnotes.

having just saved some revisions to Dolly Parton to take a break, i return to find that they were reverted by "MC10 (talk | contribs) (54,267 bytes) (Reverted edits by 71.183.238.134 to last revision by (HG)) (undo)"

it appears that "HG" is some anti-vandalism bot(?). i went ot "MC10"'s talk page to leave a query (but didn't bother because that user has "off-line" indication on the talk page and i had planned to continue cleaning up parton article tonight).

OK, I see that edit; the (HG) just means that the person used a tool called 'huggle' to revert it; it was a real person. I'm not quite sure why they reverted it, but please do leave a note on their talk page and ask them, to find out the reason. I'm sure they'll respond soon, but in the meantime don't make the same edit, we don't want an edit war. Remember, there is no deadline :-)

Salut ! I suppose you were honestly trying to improve the layout of this « list » article - and it looks wonderful on YOUR computer monitor, however, you have created a disaster for everyone else to look at. By placing images left and right combined with sections, creating artifical breaks, etc., you have created big blocks of whites space between your sections - and an article which is three times longer than it was before for people viewing this on larger 22", 26" and 34" (wide screen) desktop monitors as well as netbooks with 10" and 12" (narrow) screens, all of which I use. -- I clearly wrote a notation about ONLY adding images to the top of the "list" (as other people do). Why you chose to ignore a clearly worded message at the top of the article edit page - most people think my English OK - is simply beyond me.... PLEASE respect - and do not ignore - author's commented-out remarks, and please do not break "list" articles with photos, like this one, in this way again. Be concious that Wikipédia is for everyone, not just you. Please Note: Images added to the top do not create ANY artifical breaks. Thank you! Merci ! Hi - I've reverted your edit to {{US-film-actor-1850s-stub}} - that template deliberately doesn't have its own category. It is what is known as an upmeerged template. The reason for this is the small number of stubs which are marked with that template. New stub templates and categories are usually proposed prior to creation, as explained at WP:STUB.
