My explanation at Book of Exodus was perhaps not the best way to explain why the edit was reverted, it's better explained at MOS:ISMCAPS. In short, the principle according to that policy page is, "capitalize specific names of deities but not pronouns, etc." While this is done in some religious contexts it's not policy here.
