Welcome![edit]

Hello 204.60.184.1, and welcome to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Newcomers help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user talk page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

If you want to have full rights here, get an account quickly!

I notice you are known only as an IP address; that means you are not signed up. It is imperative for you to get an account as soon as possible, instead of using various anonymous IP numbers (which reveal where you are located).

Jimbo Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, has written that:

  • users with "anonymous IP numbers do not have the same civil rights as logged in members of the community. If you want to be a good editor, get an account, make good edits." -- Jimbo Wales

To create an account, you only need to choose a username and password. You don't need to provide any personal information. If you sign up, you'll have a username that others can use to recognize you and leave you messages on the wiki. You'll be able to sign your name just by typing four tildes (~~~~) when you leave someone else a message on a talk ("discussion") page.

If you have any questions, see the help pages, ask at the Village pump, or feel free to ask me on my talk page. I hope that you will become a legitimate editor. Again, welcome! -- Fyslee (collaborate) 21:31, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

August 2007[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits, such as those you made to Yale University, are considered vandalism and immediately reverted. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. ZimZalaBim talk 22:00, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make any unconstructive edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant warnings.

Please cite references[edit]

I've reverted your edit to Abdominal aortic aneurysm because you didn't cite a reference. I don't doubt what you wrote, but that's not good enough for Wikipedia - please read WP:CITE. Also, I think you ought to indicate where those 15,000 occur. Worldwide? In the USA only? In Germany only? WP is world encyclopedia, you see. Philip Trueman (talk) 18:43, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oooh! That's much better. Well done! Philip Trueman (talk) 19:02, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but you may wish to create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits. If you edit without a username, your IP address (204.60.184.1) is used to identify you instead.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on this page. Again, welcome! Nsaa (talk) 13:30, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would recommend you follow the excellent advice stated above. Your edits to drowning were certainly well-intentioned, but some of the claims were somewhat controversial and overall it would require at least some sources or explanations to introduce such sweeping changes to the article. If you're ever in doubt about a change, feel very free to invite discussion on the relevant talk pages; then people are going to be a lot more sympathetic to major or controversial edits. I hope this doesn't discourage you from contributing to wikipedia, since all positive contribution is welcome. Regards, Sakkura (talk) 16:03, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

May 2012[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is invited to contribute, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Pulmonary valve, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Flossenbürg concentration camp may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Re your edits here, here, and here: Please don't add highly contentious material accusing a living individual of a crime without a very reliable source. A "personal project" blog and an unsigned blog post from "Hannity.com" are not reliable sources. Please carefully read and understand WP:BLP, WP:RS, and WP:EW.
