Information icon Hello, I'm Funnyfarmofdoom. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Kentucky Democratic Party—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your recent edit to Lenar Whitney did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! MrFlyingPies23(✍) 07:26, 11 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

December 2023[edit]

Hello, I'm TechnoSquirrel69. I noticed that in this edit to 2006 United States Senate election in Wyoming, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 23:45, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! I saw you changed a couple of things in the infobox of this article and just wanted to clarify a couple of conventions.
First off, there's a difference between caption text and alt text for photos. The caption is shown below an image to everyone and generally adds to the image. In this case, the text Official portrait, 2006 is better suited there. Alt text on the other hand is generally used as a replacement for an image, whether that's because the image won't load, the user uses a screenreader, or something else.
Also, we generally crop photos of people in infoboxes a bit just to show what matters: the person. This is the first and most important image a reader sees when they visit an article, so it's crucial to make it simple and not show too much distracting background.
I hope these couple of notes help out just a little—I appreciate your edits to Wikipedia and hope you choose to continue! Happy editing! Bsoyka (talk) 06:19, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
