edit war warning

[edit]

Have you not read the lengthy discussion in which i sincerely attempted to collaborate with the gatekeeper in a productive manner? Have you not noticed the changes I have made to the page (including adding a Criticism section) to balance it out? Yes, I have been forced to get more militant because after months of collaboration, no other editors have helped resolve our differences. I thought the whole point of Wikipedia was to edit other people's stuff and also to revert their changes if you feel they are against wikipedia policy.Spitfire3000 (talk) 10:52, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Read the note I left you on dispute resolution. Edit war is never permitted except to deal with unambiguous and blatant vandalism, and in all cases there will be a better way to resolve the issue. ZZArch talk to me 10:54, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ways such as what? And i still don't understand why a dispute over POV is not a POV dispute. I would appreciate an explanation. Spitfire3000 (talk) 11:19, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Little note

[edit]

Hi Zzarch,
This isn't a big deal, and I contemplated not mentioning it to avoid looking like I'm being a snot. But I noticed this edit, and suggest that if you run across such a situation again, please transfer the message to the new user talk page. The user is new, seems to be editing in good faith, and could probably use some help navigating the site. Redirects can be confusing. Cheers. --Floquenbeam (talk) 22:19, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Thanks for the heads up! ZZArch talk to me 21:04, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting WIki Love

[edit]

Hey! How come you keep deleting my WikiLove? Thanks again! Jim1138 (talk) 08:38, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

re: RfD nomination

[edit]

Thank you for the alert. Rossami (talk) 00:34, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you closed that AfD, which you yourself initiated. One should never close an AfD in which one has previously expressed an opinion. For these reason, I've reverted the closure and am re-closing it as "withdrawn", not "keep" (there is insufficient participation for a consensus to that effect).  Sandstein  08:27, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notice board

[edit]

I checked the notice board and there was nothing there. If you hadn't removed and restored it, I would never have seen it! Thanks. Intentional? Jim1138 (talk) 08:42, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Guess it's a happy accident. ZZArch talk to me 08:44, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Kong Qingdong

[edit]

Hi Zzarch! Thanks for fixing my bot's edit to Kong Qingdong. Just wanted to let you know that I filed an AWB bug report about this issue. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 02:33, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

University of Arkansas at Little Rock

[edit]

The reference [3] in University of Arkansas at Little Rock takes place (my take on google maps) a bit over a mile from UALR and there is no mention of UALR students. Would you think another source better? Thanks for your comment and edit. Cheers! Jim1138 (talk) 04:49, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Thanks! Jim1138 (talk) 08:31, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Women's history editathon

[edit]

Hey - Sorry for the late notice, but since you have yourself tagged as living in the Bay Area, I thought you might appreciate notification that we’re having an event Saturday! It’ll be held at Hoyt Hall, an all-women's house of the Berkeley Student Cooperative from 3 to 6 pm tomorrow. The main event page is here. Anyone is welcome to show up, but we’re expecting a significant number of people to come who have literally never edited Wikipedia before. If you’re an experienced Wikipedian who would be able to provide useful help to some of the newbies, your presence would be especially appreciated (and it might be a good idea for you to show up at 2 or 2:30 instead of three. Thanks, Kevin Gorman (talk) 02:08, 6 April 2013 (UTC) I’m AWB’ing this message to all Wikipedians who have tagged themselves in the bay area. I’m sorry if the message isn’t of interest to you; feel free to delete it. I’ll be unlikely to send future messages in a similar way, but if really don’t want to receive future messages of this sort, please let me know. [reply]

PGP-Key

[edit]

Hello Zzarch,
you tell us on your user-page that you have a PGP-key, but you don’t provide it. Could you please use a pgp-template with an ID-field (like Template:User PGP)? Also it would be great if you could send me your key-ID by wiki-mail or leave it on my talk-page. Thanks :-). --DaB. (talk) 14:37, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
