VandalProof
[edit]Hi, I'm sorry to hear you can't log into VP. There appears to be a problem with the programme at the moment, with regards to moderating the User List, which three moderators have had within the last 24 hours. It may have something to do with that, or may have something to do with you being previously an apporved user and we may need to delete your previous account to get this one to work, but we can't do anything currently as the moderator tools aren't working.
So basically once I know any more I'll let you know, but we are working on it. If you've got any more questions leave me a message. --Wisden17 14:54, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
- Alright, thanks for letting me know. Please contact me once these issues have been resolved. Wes! Tc 17:41, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
- Good news and bad news. Good news now know what the problem is, bad news will take a little while to resolve! AmiDaniel replied to a question I left and to quote "Oh, and for User:Wes!, the exclamation point is what's causing the problem--User:That Guy, From That Show! had a similar problem. The bug is now fixed in the next version (to be released this weekend)."
- So you'll have to wait a few days before you can use it. Blame it on the exclamation point!!! --Wisden17 20:09, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
- I figured so much. The excitement will always get you. Of course, if that darned username usurption process would get figured out, I would've taken User:Wes. Oh well. Thanks for the help, I'll assume it's fixed once 1.2 is released. Wes! Tc 20:27, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, yeah if you have any more problems after 1.2 is realeased I'd advise getting in contact with AmiDaniel, as I can't really help on that matter, as I'm not au fait with the source code. --Wisden17 18:31, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

I've noticed you've reverted some vandalism on this article, so I thought I'd draw your attention to this proposal on the talk page. Tyrenius 01:43, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
Thanks!

[edit]You are nothing more than a high school VANDAL[citation needed] -- leave other user pages alone and mind your business. Almost Famous 17:47, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
- It is against Wikipedia policy to allow blanking of one's talk page. You asked for an archive in this edit and I happily obliged per WP:BOLD. I have no vandalism in my record; if you believe an edit of mine could be considered vandalism, I'd prefer you to bring it to my attention before resorting to personal attacks. Wes! Pro-choice
[edit]I'm unsure about what content was lost in my version but DO NOT believe that the word ethical should be included. Besides that Alienus' version has some spelling errors, and seems to be a little biased. I did revert back to my version (with some changes) and would be glad to help out fix the information. Chooserr 05:56, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
- I'll take another look at the revision, I seemed to see a number of spelling errors and apparent NPOV issues on quick glance. Mostly, it seemed like a jumbled and hurried edit, perhaps a {{test}} warning should've been used. The second revision you made is fine. In the future, make sure to use the preview button to check for errors before you save changes. Happy editing, Wes! Tc 06:02, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit]please do not remove the speedy deletion tag. It meets the criteria perfectly. Thetruthbelow 07:29, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
- I think we should be more willing to not bite the newcomers and let it go through a review. Clearly someone has put work into this article, and by losing it in the system, we will lose a contributor. Wes! Tc 07:30, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
- That article is poorly written, and extremly non-notable and filled with vanity. If an admin. feels that is should be listed for regular deletion rather than speedy deletion, he will change it. Thetruthbelow 07:31, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

You changed the Pure pwnage trivia page for no reason.
[edit]Why did you change the trivia for pure pwnage, I see nothing wrong in showing the first three loyal fans that got to the latest premier, and showing their dedication. What is wrong with stating that on wikipedia? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 3dozerbuild (talk • contribs)
- The page in question, Sohh is a page filled with vanity, cruft and non-notable instances on a given forum. That the page itself is notable does not mean that every occurance on the page is notable. Help me help you and keep your page on the Wikipedia by limiting what is of a necessity on this page. If Sohh is interested in making its own Wiki, please see How to start a Wiki, among other resources. I will attempt to get the page to a level that is reasonable for the Wiki community, but it may require protection from anonymous editors, amongst other things. Wes! Tc 02:23, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
SOHH Page
[edit]look im a poster on the SOHH Forums and I know what I'm talking about about, The changes you made were not appropriate. There are some problems with the pages but over all its accurate. The changes you made were to radical you cant just go and erase stuff that you dont know anything about. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mathv (talk • contribs)
- Listen, I'm not claiming that it's incorrect, that it ever happened or that it wasn't important to the SOHH community. What I am saying is that it is not encyclopedic for this particular project. If SOHH were interested in developing its own Wiki to go into the cruft of its past, then I invite it to. However, it is incorrect to use the resources here to include non-notable movements, factions and disputes. Please read that Wikipedia is not a publisher of original research, a soapbox, or an indiscriminate collection of information. That I'm not a registered user at the SOHH forums does not entail much about a lack of knowledge regarding certain events and their right of inclusion. Wes! Tc 12:24, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Orphaned fair use image (Image:Gates-pie.jpg)
[edit]This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Gates-pie.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 00:10, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

External links?
[edit]No idea how this contact works? Hope you get it.
The external links I was adding are to a lyrics site, most albums I view on wiki have them? Otherwise, sorry, and please remove them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.211.91.142 (talk • contribs)
- Your additions to Wikipedia are greatly appreciated, but unfortunately, we can't add links to lyric sites to album pages. If you see them on another album page, I encourage you to remove them as they are both spam and a breach of fair use. Lyrics don't fall under fair use, in the same way that we aren't able to include full text of Stephen King's new book or a new poetry anthology. There are many ways to add to the project that don't include adding external links to lyric sites. Hope to see you around! Wes! Tc 11:31, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
STDs - info for teenagers
[edit]Hello,
Happy to know you. I am interested in adding content on STDs. My focus will not be about the facts etc., but the basic quesries that trouble people. Such as whether they may contact a STD if a girl's menstrual blood spills on someone's thighs and so on. People face unique problems and most of them are teenagers. How do I do that? Will you guide?
Regards,
Joric—Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.182.21.129 (talk • contribs)
- Thank you for your interest in helping to add content to Wikipedia. The edit that you made that I reverted was a result of an addition of a link to another site that added no additional information than was already on the site. The best way to go about editing Wikipedia is to add content, rather than links. Feel free to learn about ways you can contribute by learning your second steps. If you want any Wikipedia:Tips, check those out too! If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask me here. Wes! Tc 18:57, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
mistake
[edit]Hi
You're doing a mistake, this text is not copyrighted, I wrote it this afternoon.
By the way, I'm French and live close to the battle location, it would have been difficult for me to find acopyrighted text in english on the topic!
>Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate your contributions to the Battle of Saint-Mihiel article, but we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. Perhaps you would like to rewrite the article in your own words. For more information, take a look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Happy editing! A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. Wes! • Tc 10:03, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
As it's been a while since you signed up for admin coaching, I am just checking that you still wish to receive it. If so just add you name to the "Unassigned" section of the coaching box, and you'll be assigned a couple of coaches as soon as they become available. Let me know (on my talk page) if you have any questions. Cheers, Petros471 10:26, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Rachelbilson.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Rachelbilson.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Thank you. Oden 03:08, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Image:Ludacris.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Ludacris.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShadowHalo 07:34, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
