Re: Schumacher

[edit]

It doesn't exactly help when all different sites come up with contrasting views. As per the FIA regulations, the pole position driver is the driver that is first on their official published grid. When Schumacher's penalty is applied, the driver that will go into the record books as the driver that started the 2012 Monaco Grand Prix from pole position, is Mark Webber. For instance, at the 2005 Italian Grand Prix, Juan Pablo Montoya was recognised as the pole position driver, after Kimi Räikkönen took a ten-place grid drop for an engine change. That's why Räikkönen has 16 poles, and that's the logic behind this Monaco pole. Craig(talk) 18:26, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

(talk) 11:53, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Slovenian help needed

[edit]

Hello Sporti, I'm contacting you because we need some Slovenian translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on sl.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Slovenian Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 23:17, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

IAAF Hall of Fame

[edit]

You made contributions to the IAAF Hall of Fame#Other athletes who match the criteria section that has been removed by User:Prolog. The conversation first went to User talk:Prolog and is now moving to Wikipedia:No original research/Noticeboard#IAAF Hall of Fame where the discussion apparently will now continue. Your participation is invited. Trackinfo (talk) 21:50, 3 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Slovenian Athletes Hall of Fame, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Swimming (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi, I changed the image back to the old one; it's the same image but with better colours, and if the one in the Commons is in the public domain, then this image is as well (I've changed its description to reflect this). It's just that nobody has uploaded it to the Commons yet. Esn (talk) 12:57, 9 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Flickr images

[edit]

Hey Sporti, since you've been doing a great job of uploading images from flickr to the Commons, I was wondering if I could ask you a favour: Trinity Trees has an album of 117 photos from the 2014 Aegon International released under the CC-by-SA-2.0 license. I've created the Commons:Category:2014 Aegon International, but would you mind doing all the dirty work of uploading them? If I can do anything like help in categorisation afterwards then just ping me or let me know. I'd be very grateful. Cheers! Jared Preston (talk) 07:53, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Jared Preston:  Done, categorised some (where player name is in the file name and his ctg exsists). BTW you can do the "dirty work" with flickr2commons tool easily (upload whole album). --Sporti (talk) 10:08, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
