If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. Fred, if you read the page you'll see that we are an all volunteer board. NO ONE receives ANY compensation whatsoever. Further, if you read the page I defy you to should any bias or anything biased. Tucson Pride is historically the oldest LGBT group in Arizona and the rest of the page is simple fact, no opinion. There is no conflict of interest and I will not mark that there is.

I have been continually harassed by C. Fred since day one. This is a clear cut case of LGBT discrimination. I posted NOTHING wrong and the page looked good. This is going to become a media matter if this harrassment continues. I have kept screencaps of EVERYTHING. THe court of public opinion can be a real bitch.

Actually, no, this isn't a case of harassment. This is a case of a Wikipedia administrator informing you of the guidelines by which Wikipedia is governed. Since you work for the organization in question (whether on a paid or voluntary basis), you have a conflict of interest, and you should disclose that conflict of interest when editing articles about the organization you are involved with. This does not mean you can't edit, only that your editing must be above board. The article you created was not bad, and has been restored. Copyright issues[edit]

Robert, you have claimed that you are the copyright owner of:

but these all appear to be logos of organizations (Tucson Pride and Stonewall Democrats of Arizona). You, as the webmaster of these organizations, do not necessarily own the copyrights; the organizations themselves own those rights. Even if you are the artist who created the logos, unless you have a specific legal agreement with the organizations that you would retain rights to the logos (unlikely, as most organizations like to keep those rights to themselves), it is likely that you forfeited the rights when you sold or donated the artwork to the organizations. At the very least, Wikipedia will need evidence that the organizations are willing to let their logos "into the wild" in this manner: by releasing them under the CC by SA license, you are allowing any other organization to use the logo in their publications with the only requirement being that they somewhere attribute the logo to your organizations. I doubt most organizations want their logos so freely available. That is why the fair use rationale at Wikipedia requires that only low resolution images be used: so as to prevent the unauthorized use of hi-res logo images by others. Assuming good faith[edit]

Hi there, I have been somewhat keeping up with your Stonewall Democrats of Arizona and Tucson Pride. I wanted to inform you of something Wikipedia editors acknowledge: assuming good faith. This is the believed notion that Wiki edits are made with good intentions. Without this, Wikipedia would not be able to exist.
I mention this because it saddens me that you petty-attacked other users who attempted to uphold Wikipedia's copyright policies when you played the "discrimination card". It also saddens me that you discriminated and labeled a Christian as a "homophobe", and assumed bad faith. I understand that you are new, so let's work together to create a better Wikipedia. My edits on your pages, and all articles, are made with good intentions. And just a side note, users can identify with a particular group but be level-headed and impartial. Please do not assume with such haste in the future. I look forward to working with you in the future, if you have any questions please post on my talk page.

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Hello Robert Rowlkey, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your addition to Tucson Pride has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. Ok, here's the deal John. I am the one who developed the current Tucson Pride logo and, as Vice President and webmaster and historian of Tucson Pride I authorize myself to use the logo that I created for the organization that I am the Vice President (recognized by the State of Arizona Secretary of State) of. Further I am the one who researched and developed the history of Tucson Pride and further I am the person who built the damned page. I will be adding something about Wikipedia to the bottom of the Tucson Pride website (http://tucsonpride.org) mentioning that I approve myself to use the logo and text. Further, I have the code to the page saved and should the page go down it WILL be put right back up. That is not a sufficient release. Still cannot use it. Considering what it used to say, I will content any copypaste of it, because I doubt the copyrights of the people you copied it from claiming fair use are being upheld and even if they are, that says nothing about our use of it. Why remove it? I don't know how this all got so out of hand. The article is not going to be deleted, and indeed, a Google News search does show that this organization is notable -- as I argued in no uncertain terms at the now-withdrawn deletion discussion. The Tucson Pride article needs to be improved, with some of those news sources added, but hopefully we can all calm down and move forward.
