August 2023[edit]

Part of a mass attack/disruption to multiple articles, WP:OVERLINK:

Please stop making test edits to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism, which, under Wikipedia policy, can lead to being blocked from editing. If you would like to experiment again, please use your sandbox. 2601:19E:4180:6D50:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 13:52, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Pmanofficial, after looking at Deforestation— in addition to the general point that it's not desirable to link to familiar concepts and names, don't make a circular link to the name of the article you are editing. That is clearly not helpful to the reader. Yngvadottir (talk) 23:18, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistently making disruptive edits.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Lourdes 11:56, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • You need to confirm to us that you have the capacity to communicate on this talk page. Continuing to overlink without explanation is disruptive. Please respond. Lourdes 11:57, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I just started editing and did not know that this was a mistake and I just found out how to access my talk page. I promise to communicate better going forward.Pmanofficial (talk) 10:40, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

I have unblocked your account. You have said you will communicate with other editors in the future, and you will stop over-linking. This unblock is a last chance to get things right, and if the problems continue, you will be re-blocked. PhilKnight (talk) 15:27, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Do you understand that you have been overlinking? Do you see how this link was unnecessary? 331dot (talk) 14:06, 2 December 2023 (UTC) Yes, I admit and I now understand the over-linking policy and I will not do it again.[reply]

@331dot: - I am inclined to unblock and give them a last chance to edit constructively. What do you think? PhilKnight (talk) 14:04, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I agree. 331dot (talk) 14:52, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

March 2024[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Jeff Bezos. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. User:PhilKnight unblocked you on condition that you would stop over-linking. Today you linked, for example, newspaper and investor in Jeff Bezos, fish and cotton in Aliko Dangote, billionaire and rice in Abdul Samad Rabiu, and Nigeria and Africa in Femi Otedola.
