The Boxing Day

[edit]

I observed it myself. I am in Indonesia, at Jakarta. The connection Timed Out at 26-28 December to this enormous site and all sites I've usually visited. Thank God there were improvements at 29 December. (It's 30 December now in my time). I was able to visit Wikipedia and Yahoo! Search, but I couldn't visit Google. UTC 18.24 29 Dec 06 Marhadiasa.

[edit]

Ahaaah, so here's how to use this; I'm still learning. Please bear with me, Pinay. I guess you keep tab of my IP ad heheh. (Fro)

This is on GA hold for 7 days for: needs more refs (ex: all of background only has one), refs are not consitently formatted, not enough wikilinks. Sumoeagle179 23:09, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Failed GA, no action taken.Sumoeagle179 23:42, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am getting/working on the citations and have them offline, and isn't the 7th day on the 28th yet? Please re consider. Thank you. --Ate Pinay (talkemail) 04:19, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It was only about one hour from that day and no action had been taken and I had no reason to expect any. If you address the issues, renominate it and let me know and I'll expedite it.Sumoeagle179 10:59, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Your statement - "I had no reason to expect any" is very very low, and subjective for a fellow Wikipedian of stature! After having put so much time and effort into this article, any additional time for me is immaterial. Besides, I had to make sure everything is covered from my end, so as not to compromise the value and integrity of the article. Please look into my list of GAs in my userpage to understand me and how I work! In addition, in Wikipedia, we do not assume the negative! We always abide by WP:AGF. BTW, FYI, I am not re-nominating this yet. I have submitted this for WP:GA/R, just so you know. I hope you do not do the same thing to other well-meaning wikipedians next time. What I am trying to say is check the credentials or credibility of the major contributor first before you use the axe! Thank you for your time. --Ate Pinay (talkemail) 18:22, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You should assume good faith also, with no response after over 6 days, I stand by my statement.Sumoeagle179 18:27, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
BTW, GA/R takes longer than an expedited renom.Sumoeagle179 18:45, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for the heads up. Sorry for the miscommunication. or the failure to communicate. I simply had so much in both RL and WL. Maybe i will take you up on your offer of the renom, if I can drag myself our of the depression of the failed GA. I will let you know before the week ends. It's just that I owe it to Bohol and its people to make this article WP:GA, which is my hope for all others in Portal:Bohol. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pinay06 (talk • contribs) 07:17, 1 March 2007 (U

Hey

[edit]

I'm visiting Bohol this summer. Any suggestions what places or sights I must go to aside from Chocolate Hills and Tarsiers? Berserkerz Crit 10:05, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Of course. It depends on what you feel like doing? snorkelling, kayaking, river cruise, mountain climbing, spelunking, sleeping, ballroom dancing, sing along, chatting, shopping, antiques. etc...anything! and whatever you like. Send me an email I will send you pics of the places you can go to: Panglao Island is a must, dolphin/whale watching, Pamilacan island, Balicasag island, Hinagdanan caves, well read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:Bohol. Let me know if you need help with hotel reservations as well as a good tourist guide or what! But we can arrange it ourselves. I can give you a suggested one...Also a good personal guide...pili ka lang: student o teacher, congressman o gov? hehehehehe --Ate Pinay (talkemail) 07:48, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Me and my family (for a total of five) are staying in the Bohol Beach Club (ata, san bang city to?) for 4 days and 3 nights. So I guess aside from the Chocolate Hills and Tarsiers, we only have our sched free for one more activity (kasi gusto ng mama at ate ko mag shopping or tingin tingin lang around hehe). Snorkeling, kayaking, river cruise, mountain climbing, spelunking, sleeping (wat da hehe) are definitely out of the question from my family's type of activities. So I guess good places for shopping and obtaining Bohol-exclusive items. Congressman wahaha bigtime wag na nid siguro nun mangampanya hehe. Berserkerz Crit 12:28, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
First of all, what are the specific dates? Holy Week? BBC is the best choice! You couldn't be in any other paradise! It is in Panglao town of Panglao Island. Please note that the owner of BBC, Anos Fonacier, is also the one of the top guys of the Philippine Tarsier Foundation. So, make sure you get in contact with him, too. So, are you doing the Chocolate Hills and Philippine Tarsier by yourself? The BBC can arrange the site visits for you, but will entail additional expense. If it is not Holy Week, I can arrange for some cool guys and gals (?) to meet you and take you around for a special feel of our island nation hehehe, as well as a taste of night life Bohol-style. (Let me know age-range preferences! hehehe I am serious!). Well, it wouldn't hurt to say Hi to the congressmen, even through txt messages. (Email me for specific details!). As for the shops, they are all over the place! The cheap ones will be in the old Torralba market, the Cogon Market, Agora and Dao (Satellite City) markets. There are also souvenir shops outside of the Hinagdanan cave, as well as along the Loboc River (Cruise) and Chocolate hills, but understandably with marked up touristy prices. The new and modern mall is the Island City Mall. Pics are in the article on Bohol. Let me hear from you more... --Ate Pinay (talk•email) 07:10, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

I'm back

[edit]

Ooooh, vacation was so nice. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to spend time with my parents again. We decided not to make the trip to Paquime, though, since that would have been eight hours of driving on the day after we had travelled thirteen hours. I've been back for a couple of weeks but have been very busy with a side project that is consuming a lot of my time. Wikipedia has been calling my name, though, so I'll try to steal some time here and there to edit. I see you've stayed busy all this time. How is the work with the legislature progressing concerning the images? SWAdair | Talk 05:10, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Pinay06! I've done a little contribution in the article of Bohol. I think the grammar will be quite bad. Revise that if it's badly written. Bye. Miguel303xm 15:01, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Paring Bol-anon

[edit]

I've nominated Paring Bol-anon, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Paring Bol-anon satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Paring Bol-anon and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Paring Bol-anon during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you.RJASE1 Talk 06:35, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On a quick note (without reading your comments in the article talk page, etc. then on the same note - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Catholic_Diocese_of_Honolulu_-_Clergy should also be AfD nominated? For consistency, that is. Otherwise I'd say that the nomination is purely and simply subjective and/or condescending..Also, which particular portion of Wikipedia policy does it say that these two articles are both unencyclopedic? --Ate Pinay (talkemail) 08:47, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the heads-up - I'll nominate that article for deletion also. I cited the particular policies I was concerned about in the AfD nomination. Salamat... RJASE1 Talk 08:54, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Going back to December of 2006, I wish the second one had already been AfD nominated! Then we would have been spared of all the long hours and calls to different parts of the world to track all these people down...Perhaps you would re-consider and nominate to move the article to List of Paring Bol-anon (currently a redirect) linked to the Diocese of Tagbilaran and/or Bohol articles? Also the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary. It really is such a waste of time, energy, people, long distance calls, internet time, etc! just to have the article just deleted like that! Note: I still have not gone to the Talk page yet! --Ate Pinay (talkemail) 08:59, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I would definitely take your argument to the AfD pages of the affected articles... RJASE1 Talk 09:07, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmmm...Well, thank you for the heads up! I will check out the talk page now, or maybe later. My spirits are dampened now! BTW, how do you know salamat? My answer will be "walang anuman pero masakit pa rin! kahit papaano"! hehehe --Ate Pinay (talkemail) 09:09, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
LOL - My wife is from Lunsod ng Cebu, and we've been married for 20 years, so I know a little Tagalog. Nothing personal, I just don't think this particular list is right for Wikipedia - maybe a category for the notable people in the list? Otherwise I think it will be impossible to maintain. RJASE1 Talk 09:15, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
LoL! Why don't I make it painless by tagging it {{db-author}} now? Perhaps this will be more appreciated and in place in the Cebuano wikipedia. yes? --Ate Pinay (talkemail) 09:18, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Opo - maraming salamat! Let me know if there's ever anything I can do for you...Timyong RJASE1 Talk 09:20, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okey! I will tag it {{db-author}} tomorrow after many of the Paring Bol-anon have seen the tag! Btw, okey lang. Baka mas masaya sila sa Cebuano Wikipedia. Although many of them are in the U.S. etc na. Anyways, share Portal:Bohol with your wife. Maybe she will inspire you to do Portal:Cebu, or both of you tour Bohol...Let me know. That will be interesting.--Ate Pinay (talkemail) 09:27, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Danao/Dagohoy/Inabanga

[edit]

Sirs/Madam, In one of your history version of Danao it was said that Danao was once a barrio of Talibon. If this is the case how come that the famous Francisco Dagohoy was an Inabangnon or from Inabanga, as Philippine history states and a very accepted fact, if Dagohoy was born in Danao and Danao was formerly part of Talibon ? Is it not that Danao was once a part of Inabanga and not Talibon and that Dagohoy was not born in Danao. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 210.213.76.209 (talk) 16:38, 15 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Bohollogo.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bohollogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:35, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Alburlogo2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Alburlogo2.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:LCC-group.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. bluemask (talk) 16:05, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have tagged Image:24massescover.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. BigrTex 19:35, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Bishopyiet.jpeg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 12:24, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Prguingona.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Prguingona.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:22, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Kantada sa Semana Santa 1 413 x 600 .jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Kantada sa Semana Santa 1 413 x 600 .jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Fair use rationale for Image:SPOTtapecover.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:SPOTtapecover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Dagohoy.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Dagohoy.jpg.

Speedy deletion of Template:User Neworleans

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Template:User Neworleans requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 04:19, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cebulogo.gif. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Image source problem with Image:PTFI Board.jpg

[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:PTFI Board.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 08:06, 23 May 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rossrs (talk) 08:06, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article Rene Relampagos has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. [edit]

Thank you for uploading File:YHSCorridor-3Nov05.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 00:47, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Cesar Tomas M. Lopez requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ηyχαμς 08:47, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The person themselves may be notable, however A7 denotes "An article about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (e.g. band, club, company, etc., except schools), or web content that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant." The article you created did this and therefore was suitable for speedy deletion. Take a look at Your First Article. - ηyχαμς 19:29, 26 May 2010 (UT::
I am still getting sooo there. I have to tell you FYI, in case you did not know that I did all these: Arnold Zamora, Edgar Chatto, Francis Escudero, Antonieto Cabajog, Rene Relampagos and many more. These are the rest of my contributions to wikipedia here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Pinay06/Contributions So it goes without saying that i know what i am doing and i am getting there. i just needed a little bit of time. something came up when i was starting ths stub that i had to stop and deal with it first off wiki...I will appreciate it if you can restore it back so i can continue my work, and you can do yours. Ciao Pinay (talkemail) 19:39, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies, no offense intended. If you have created so many articles before then are you not familiar with creating an article in your user space until ready to move to the main space? This would mean your start up article won't get slapped with a tag which, can I remind you, was appropriate in this case, as an Admin did indeed delete the article. I am not an Admin, and did not delete it, just nominated it under Wikipedia's guidelines, I have no way of getting your article back. - ηyχαμς 19:44, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Apology accepted. My advice for next time is check on the credentials of the editor first before doing something, or maybe give it say 24 hours if not sure? anyway, before i responded to your posts, i had already informed the admin User:Zscout370 since he and I worked on almost all my articles together as well...Good job though in handling this situation. you are to be commended for such maturity, openness and speed. Orphaned non-free media (File:Vfalogo.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Vfalogo.jpg.

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:18, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of alumni of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Diocese of San Jose and Kailua, Hawaii (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Notification of automated file description generation

[edit]

Your upload of File:Alburmap.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! [edit]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Pinay06 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

This is to acknowledge copyright violations at the beginning of my editing history, but in later articles, I have read and have been more knowledgeable and compliant with Wikipedia policies. I just found out I have been blocked because I have not received any notice about it. Thank you! Pinay (talk•email) 04:33, 29 March 2015 (UTC)

Accept reason:

As I mentioned below, the incidences of copyright violations as incurred by this user happened early in her career. I think at this point, it would be wise to give a second chance especially given that we should be growing our community in places where they ought to be grown, but I strongly urge Pinay06 to please be more observant of Wikipedia's copyright policies. --Sky Harbor (talk) 16:23, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It does look like the worst violations are from his early career back in 2006, but this was one of your most recent edits. Granted, you haven't really made any major edits since 2010, so I have nothing to compare the earlier issues to. Wizardman 14:08, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the input, Wizardman. Just so you know, Pinay06 is female. :)
At this point I think a second chance is warranted, given that these incidents took place quite a while back, and she has expressed a desire to edit more seriously once again. Copyright issues aside, I think that we can still use editors like her, given that she is from a part of the world that is underrepresented, and the net benefit she can give as a member of the community still outweighs the potential liability that she poses should she lapse into this behavior. She appears sincere in her statement that she has been more knowledgeable about copyright (and admittedly, this is a very big problem in this part of the world), and I think it would be wise to help them better understand Wikipedia's copyright policies than to just ban them outright for copyright violations that they may not be knowledgeable about.
This is what I'll do then: if you don't mind, I'll lift the block on Pinay06, but I strongly encourage her to please stick to her word. Observing Wikipedia copyright policy, no matter how complex, is important, and we certainly need people in this part of the world who are knowledgeable about these policies so that others will also be knowledgeable about them. I think it won't hurt if we give her a second chance. --Sky Harbor (talk) 02:48, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You are being contacted because you may qualify as an inactive user of AWB. First, if you have any input on the proposed bot task, please feel free to comment at the BRFA. Should the bot task be approved, your access to AWB may be uncontroversially removed if you do not resume editing within a week's time. Singing Priests of Tacloban (album)

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Singing Priests of Tagbilaran (1998) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article does not exist or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. The file File:Alburmap.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Orphaned map.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ~ Rob13Talk 17:13, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

2019 US Banknote Contest

[edit]
US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here
