February 2019[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page FamilySearch has been reverted.
Your edit here to FamilySearch was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnEdHyeEN2A&list=PLh_QSpSDa7SiWrubJQPC4MFsTUOJvCNOE&index=2, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSb4rjo5CMA&list=PLh_QSpSDa7SiWrubJQPC4MFsTUOJvCNOE&index=1, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Br9QWzIBr4k&list=PLh_QSpSDa7SiWrubJQPC4MFsTUOJvCNOE&index=4, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkKg40QsTHM&feature=youtu.be, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lwb9WRL1M3M&feature=youtu.be, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PHEIM720tg&list=PLh_QSpSDa7SiWrubJQPC4MFsTUOJvCNOE&index=3, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSb4rjo5CMA&feature=youtu.be, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUgVsca27EI&feature=youtu.be) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. music or video) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. FamilySearch Edits[edit]

Hi OldGravedigger,

I see you added some links to the Facebook Genealogy pages on the FamilySearch page. I know you are trying to expand the article to make it more helpful, but I think Wikipedia may not be the right place for those links. Wikipedia is more of an encyclopedia than a end-all-be-all source for every little detail on an organization. I think it make be worth mentioning the way that FamilySearch helps people, including the Facebook groups, but links to each group are not what wikipedia is trying to do. Are you ok if I take the links out and just leave the ideas you added in the initial paragraph? I know that sometimes it is hard when your first Wikipedia edits are reversed, so don't take it as a sign that nobody wants you here, just simply that it may take a little time to get used to this collaborative environment. I am a big FS supporter, so I am glad to see other people who want to help. Glennfcowan (talk) 16:48, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Same as Glennfcowan above. I support FS efforts as well, but we can't get too specific or deviate from the purposes of wikipedia. Have a good day!--Rollidan (talk) 22:20, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
