Orphaned non-free media (Image:DotMac.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DotMac.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 13:28, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Opera page zooming.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Opera page zooming.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Remember the dot (talk) 05:53, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

List of personal information managers, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that List of personal information managers satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of personal information managers and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of List of personal information managers during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. AfD nomination of MinGW Developer Studio

[edit]

An editor has nominated MinGW Developer Studio, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/MinGW Developer Studio and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 17:14, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mozilla Digital Memory Bank

[edit]

Dear Minghong,

I am a graduate research assistant at the Center for History and New Media at George Mason University. In recent years we have produced a number of online archives such as The September 11 Digital Archive (http://911digitalarchive.org/) and the Hurricane Digital Memory Bank (http://www.hurricanearchive.org/). Our team is currently gathering digital documents related to Mozilla products for the Mozilla Digital Memory Bank (http://mozillamemory.org), and we are in the process of interviewing some of the lead members, former and present, of the Mozilla community.

I recently found your Mozilla/Firefox-related contributions located at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Mozilla_Firefox. Given your involvement with Mozilla, we think your voice would be an excellent addition to the archive. If you are interested in having your perspectives added to the record, we can conduct the interview via Skype, instant messenger, or email—whichever method might fit your schedule and preferences best.

I have included below the first three questions of the interview in order to give you a sense of the process. For examples of completed interviews, please feel free to examine the interviews section (http://mozillamemory.org/browse.php?cat=interview) of our archive.

If you are interested in contributing your perspectives on the Mozilla community and its products, you can reach me by e-mail at [email protected]. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions regarding the interview process or the Mozilla Digital Memory Bank.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Best regards,

Giny Cheong

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Favicon-in-firefox102.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Favicon-in-firefox102.png.

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:18, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly unfree Image:Mozilla_1.7.png

[edit]

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Mozilla_1.7.png, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the image description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. OsamaK 09:01, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image:DOM Inspector.png is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:Image:DOM Inspector.png. Commons is a repository of free media that can be used on all MediaWiki wiki's. The image(s) will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[Image:DOM Inspector.png]]. Note that this is an automated message. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 11:10, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for your uploads. You've indicated that the following images are being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why they meet Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page an image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --23:33, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Comparison of wiki farms

[edit]

I have nominated Comparison of wiki farms, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Comparison of wiki farms (3rd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. I have nominated Mozilla Firefox for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here.

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Mozilla XPInstall confirm dialog.png)

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:Mozilla XPInstall confirm dialog.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 04:15, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:TUGZip screenshot.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:TUGZip screenshot.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 13:40, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Western Food Market Hong Kong

[edit]

Dear Minghong.

I live in Amsterdam and last week I visited Hong Kong and I wanted to take pictures inside the Food Market. It was allowed to enter but not to take pictures inside. (a disappointment!) On Wikimedia I fond great photo's by you but also from the outside. Do you know someone or do you have pictures from inside the gates and inside the buildings?

The reason I ask is the we are working on the refit of the Amsterdam Food Market. And we're having a discussion if we could design it in several floors like Hong Kong market. My email: [email protected] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.241.35.43 (talk) 14:18, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
