Australian forces being deployed to the Middle East

Hi, I've reverted your edits as they're somewhat premature. The government has announced that aircraft will be deployed, but none have actually left Australia. In particular, this claim you added about the MRTT's conducting combat missions is totally wrong: the source you give says that the aircraft are planned to be deployed! Changes to infoboxes

Hello, The 'Allegiance' field of Template:Infobox military unit is only intended to be "used to indicate the allegiance of units which are not part of the regular armed forces of a sovereign state". It's not necessary to list all Australian units as owing their allegiance to the Queen as they are part of the national military of which the Queen is the ceremonial commander. Also, please don't clutter infoboxes with little graphics - they don't help readers much, and aren't used as a result. Please see WP:INFOBOXFLAG. Regards, Nick-D (talk) 10:05, 5 December 2014 (UTC)

Edit Summaries

Information icon Hi there! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

List of massacres in Australia

Hi Alecclews,
Thank youfor updating List of massacres in Australia re the tragedy in Cairns where media reports say 8 children have been killed. [1]
However, as you have relatively few edits I'll point you to a few relevant WP policies and guidelines:

As you have added this event to a page, it would be helpful if you kept an eye on it for updates to ensure that your entry stays accurate. You used a good Reliable source the BBC, I have also linked to a 'Noosa News' article. Nota bene* Just heard on Radio 2GB there has been male one arrested, one in custody. Prime Minister has released a statement. (See updated Noosa News page). and "Man charged with murder..." [2] (whoops wrong stabbing! )
Hope these WP and source links are of interest or helpful. Happy Editing! 220 of Borg 04:59, 19 December 2014 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm Jetstreamer. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Ilyushin Il-76, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Disambiguation link notification for February 25

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Operation Okra, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kevin Andrews. Thank you for using VisualEditor and sharing your ideas with the developers.

Hello, LordHello1,

The Editing team is asking very experienced editors like you for your help with VisualEditor. The team has a list of top-priority problems, but they also want to hear about small problems. These problems may make editing less fun, take too much of your time, or be as annoying as a paper cut. The Editing team wants to hear about and try to fix these small things, too.

You can share your thoughts by clicking this link. You may respond to this quick, simple, anonymous survey in your own language. If you take the survey, then you agree your responses may be used in accordance with these terms. This survey is powered by Qualtrics and their use of your information is governed by their privacy policy.

More information (including a translateable list of the questions) is posted on wiki at mw:VisualEditor/Survey 2015. If you have questions, or prefer to respond on-wiki, then please leave a message on the survey's talk page.

Your draft article, Draft:SMX-Ocean

Hello, LordHello1. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "SMX-Ocean".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13. An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Rankersbo (talk) 08:23, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

New Turnbull Ministry

Hi there, thank you for your edits in the individual ministry pages. While many would delete your changes saying the edit's are a bit preemptive that's not why I'm posting this. On each page I noticed you put that start date as September 20. You should know that the ministry wont actually be sworn in until tomorrow, the 21 of September. I'm going through them and correcting them now, but it would help if you could also go though and fix them. ThanksThe Tepes (talk) 10:01, 20 September 2015 (UTC)

2015 Saint-Denis raid

Hi LordHello1.
Your reference edit here is in error. You had a title about the 2015 Saint-Denis raid, but the CNN URL goes to a story about Mali, and you had ABC News (Australia) as the website! I have fixed it here (I hope) with a Reuters source. Just FYI. 220 of Borg 16:53, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

March Madness 2017

G'day all, please be advised that throughout March 2017 the Military history Wikiproject is running its March Madness drive. This is a backlog drive that is focused on several key areas:

  • tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
  • updating the project's currently listed A-class articles to ensure their ongoing compliance with the listed criteria
  • creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various task force pages or other lists of missing articles.

As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.

The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the military history scope will be considered eligible. More information can be found here for those that are interested, and members can sign up as participants at that page also.

The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 March and runs until 23:59 UTC on 31 March 2017, so please sign up now.

For the Milhist co-ordinators. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) & MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 07:24, 26 February 2017 (UTC)

This is an online encyclopedia

Not a blog

We do not carry instant results for elections - they have to be called finally when either a former conceded (I see nothing about that anywhere yet) - commentators and media - that make claims at 10 or 20% count - are not what an encyclopedia carries - see WP:NOT and WP:ABOUT

Well - interesting despite the level of the votes counted at 8.09 p.m. WST Labor has claimed victory... so I sit corrected, my apology

Further - interesting - within the same 2 minutes - the awaiting formal concession from Premier Colin Barnett wasnt happening... JarrahTree 12:17, 11 March 2017 (UTC)
