December 2011

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to THE BEST NBA PLAYERS 2011-12, but we cannot accept original research. Original research also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. The Mark of the Beast (talk) 05:44, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article NBA best players 2012 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced, subjective list; no explanation of which statistics are used to rank the players

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. THE BEST NBA PLAYERS 2011-12 listed at Redirects for discussion

Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. —KuyaBriBriTalk 16:04, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article List of NBA Players by points scored has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Wikipedia is not a forum for posting sports opinions that are not backed up by reliable source references. For example, in this list LeBron James is ranked #3 but Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is #8 and Karl Malone is #21 despite each having twice the number of career points as LeBron.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Your "articles" on NBA player listings

[edit]

Please note that Wikipedia is not a forum for expressing your opinions or original research on any subject. All content must be backed up by reliable sources. If indeed the player rankings you have been publishing on Wikipedia are your own opinions (i.e., not published by reliable sources), and you feel that they must be published on the internet, I recommend you avail yourself of the many free blogging sites that are out there. —KuyaBriBriTalk 17:10, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing inappropriate pages, such as Why LeBron is hated and not anybody else, is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. This is your last warning. The next time you violate Wikipedia's no original research policy by inserting unpublished information or your personal analysis into an article, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. —KuyaBriBriTalk 15:10, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article List of NBA players with most points, rebounds, assists and blocks has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Wikipedia is not a statistics database. The content here may be suitable for multiple individual stand-alone lists, but as it stands this violates WP:NOTSTATSBOOK. Even if we were to split the information as I suggested, the current title is too unwieldy and would be an implausible redirect.

—KuyaBriBriTalk 15:15, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
