If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Thug Money Records requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. 2A01:4C8:41:F1F7:51D2:AC44:E90A:144E (talk) 03:31, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pending references for an article[edit]

I have read your message at Talk:Thug Money Records, where you said that you hope to add suitable references later. Unfortunately, my searches suggest that the subject does not satisfy Wikipedia's notability guidelines, and that suitable references don't exist. I shall delete the article for now, but if you can provide references which you believe show notability, let me know what they are, and I will consider whether it will be appropriate to restore the article. JBW (talk) 11:08, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Presbyterian Senior High School, La, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs prose content and citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Wikipedia's "conflict of interest" guideline[edit]

If you are connected to someone or something you have written about (a few examples are writing about yourself, your business, your band, a member of your family, your client) then you should be aware that Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline discourages you from writing about that subject. The main reason for that is that experience over the years indicates that editors with such a connection to a subject they are writing about are likely to find it very difficult, or even impossible, to stand back from their writing and see how it will look from the detached perspective of an outsider, so that they are likely to write in ways that look promotional to others, even if they sincerely think they are writing in a neutral way. Also, if your editing forms all or part of work for which you are paid, whether as an employee, as a contractor, or in any other capacity, the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use require you to state who is paying you, and what your connection to them is. (To avoid the possibility of a surprisingly common misunderstanding, editing is part of paid work if it is done as part of normal employment or as part of a work to a contract, whether or not a specific payment earmarked for editing Wikipedia is made.)JBW (talk) 18:46, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright[edit]

It is almost never suitable to copy content from another web site to Wikipedia, for more than one reason, the most important being copyright. When you post anything to Wikipedia you release it for anyone in the world to reuse it, either unchanged or modified in any way whatever, subject to attribution to Wikipedia. It is very rare that the owner of a web site licenses content for such very free reuse, and in those few occasions when they do so, we require proof of the fact. We don't assume that content is freely licensed on the unsubstantiated say so of just anyone who comes along and creates a Wikipedia account.JBW (talk) 18:56, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

September 2021[edit]

Please stop attacking other editors, as you did on User talk:JBW. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Chris Troutman (talk) 19:01, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Then why does he get into my articles which he knows nothing of labeling it a copyright? Lilbaby111 (talk) 19:16, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for informing us that I made a mistake about the copyright status of the text which you copied. Naturally I should like to correct my error. However, I suspect you may have missed the point of Chris Troutman's message. I am inclined to think it was probably concerned not with the fact that you think I made a mistake, but rather with the fact that, granted that you held that belief, you chose not to explain my error to me civilly, but rather to launch an infantile attack. As for your statement concerning my lack of knowledge concerning the copyright issue, you evidently have access to information which I haven't seen, because all I managed to find was a copyright notice on the website from which you copied, saying "Copyright © ProfileAbility 2021". Somehow I missed the bit where it said that the text was licensed for free reuse under terms comparible with the CC BY-SA 3.0 License and the GFDL. However, since you evidently know betterthan I do, I will be grateful if you will provide me with the evidence that the text is freely licensed, so that I can correct my unfortunate mistake. JBW (talk) 20:01, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

But that was only a reference to prove my point on that article and as for the prove you can check another Ghanaian Rapper named Yaw Tog ProfileAbility was used to reference his biography which means it was freely available to use. And I don’t get why you had to delete the whole article itself Lilbaby111 (talk) 21:49, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

OK, there are several points there, and I'll try to clarify them. I hope what I say may be helpful to you.
The article Yaw Tog gives a reference to ProfileAbility, and so did the article you created. However, the reference wasn't the problem. The problem was that, as well as the reference, the page you created also had text copied from ProfileAbility, which Yaw Tog didn't.
Even if there had been no difference between what you did and what was done at Yaw Dog, it wouldn't necessarily have followed that it was all right to do. It's natural for a new editor to look at existing articles to see what is acceptable, but unfortunately it doesn't always work, because sometimes the other articles have things in them which they shouldn't, and which are likely to be removed when someone notices them.
Once you have a bit more experience of contributing to Wikipedia, you will have a better understanding of which bits of other articles are good models to follow, and which aren't. I'm afraid there's quite a lot of pitfalls for new editors who are editing in good faith, but don't yet know what kind of things are acceptable. My advice to new editors is that it is best to start by making small improvements to existing articles, rather than creating new articles. That way any mistakes you make will be small ones, and you won't have the discouraging experience of repeatedly seeing hours of work deleted. Gradually, you will get to learn how Wikipedia works, and after a while you will know enough about what is acceptable to be able to write whole new articles without fear that they will be deleted. Over the years I have found that editors who start by making small changes to existing articles and work up from there have a far better chance of having a successful time here than those who jump right into creating new articles from the start.
If the copyright infringement had been just a small part of the article, I would have just removed that part, but it was all, or almost all, of the actual text of the article (not counting listings at the bottom of the page) so almost nothing would have been left. However, if you want me to I can email you what you wrote, so that you can rewrite it in your own words, without using wording copied from anywhere else. If you want to do that, click the "preferences" link at the top of the page and set an email address for your account. When you have done that, let me know, and I can send you what you wrote.
I admit that what I wrote earlier probably wasn't as helpful as it might have been. Unfortunately the way you wrote to me put me in a negative frame of mind towards you, and that affected how I responded. I fully understand that seeing your work deleted must have been annoying, and made you feel angry towards me, but it's worth bearing in mind that even if you think someone deserves your anger, you may actually get better results if you address them in a way which isn't likely to antagonise them.
As I said above, I hope that some or all of those comments above may be of some help to you. If you want me to email you the material, let me know, though my advice, as I also said above, is to get quite a lot more experience of editing before reposting it as an article.
