[edit]If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:
- Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
- Provide a new username.
To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.
Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. 331dot (talk) 09:19, 20 October 2024 (UTC)Kirinphysicist595955 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • autoblocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))

Also, there is no paid promotion or advertising or anything like that. I am an individual user editing on my own to improve Wikipedia.
Finally, there is nothing "promotional" about the material that I added. When I created the account, I honestly stated that I wanted to add information to a page. I would like to add information about the Asia Nishina Award. This is a well known international prize that has been given to many distinguished scientists and was one of the activities of the Nishina Memorial Foundation for several years. You can check it on Google. Is your position that it is not allowed to add information on this prize to Wikipedia? (I clarify again that I am acting in my individual capacity and not on behalf of the foundation. The choice of username is simply a mistake.) You appear to be a representative of the Foundation, and added a link promoting its award. Do you have an association with the Foundation? (even if they didn't ask you to edit) 331dot (talk) 13:50, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
- No. I already said that I do not have any association with the foundation. I took on the user name because that was the page I wanted to edit. The text I added was not promotional or controversial. All physicists in Japan know about the Nishina awards. I was only completing the description of the awards since, for ten years, two awards were given in parallel; an Asia award and an award for Japanese physicists. (By the way, there is nothing to promote. The Asia award was ended two years ago. So I was only adding data to complete the page which is entirely devoted to the Nishina Memorial Awards.) Why don't you check on Google?
- Can you please unblock me and restore my edits.
- I though that Wikipedia was about assuming good faith so I am surprised by hostile reception to simple addition of some data that is improving the encyclopedia. Nishinamemorial (talk) 23:11, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
- No "hostility" is intended, but we take what appears to be promotional editing seriously to guard against violations of policy. It's best to use independent reliable sources when possible, primary sources are only useful for certain things. 331dot (talk) 23:44, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
- Okay. Thank you. I will add reliable secondary sources to improve the article. If I accidentally violate some Wikipedia policy, please let me know here. Kirinphysicist595955 (talk) 10:44, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
