Orphaned non-free media (File:Adventure Time - Princess Bubblegum and Lady Rainicorn.png)

Thanks for uploading File:Adventure Time - Princess Bubblegum and Lady Rainicorn.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:10, 8 January 2013 (UTC)

A response to your question on the "List of Transformers Prime Characters" talk page

Hello, I posted a reply to your question in the talk page of "List of Transformers: Prime Characters", but in case you didn't see it, I'll post it here as well:

To answer the question in the title, no, I don't think there should be sections for deceased Autobots and Decepticons, I think the characters that have been killed off in the show should be integrated into other sections. For example, a while ago I removed the Deceased Autobots header, moved Cliffjumper and Tailgate's summaries into "Other Autobots" and took out Seaspray's summary completely because he doesn't make a physical appearance in the show. For the Decepticons, I made a section called "Former Nemesis Crew Members" that includes all of the killed off characters as well as Airachnid.

However, I agree that the section structure of this article changes far too often. The problem is that everyone contributing to the article (and it's a lot of people) has a different idea as to how the article should look, and I don't think anyone is willing to compromise on anything. So even if you did try to put a permanent structure on the article, it would only be there for about six or seven hours at most before being reverted by someone hiding behind an IP address.

So yes, I do think the article should have a permanent structure without the "Deceased Whatever" heading, but I don't think that is possible because there are so many people making so many edits the article every day (it's a popular show after all...) that it's becoming difficult to maintain and keep track of. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. avoid social networks as reliable sources

Its best to avoid socialnetworks to find the answer. Look for info that can be verified. Meaning wikipedia doesn't look for what's actually true, but rather what's technically been confirmed. This is a responce to lady rainicorns voice actor. On a minor note, your talkpage setup is odd. Just archive instead of labeling previous messages and new messages.Lucia Black (talk) 21:13, 21 March 2013 (UTC)

The article 南山 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

per WP:UE we do not have article titles that use Chinese characters. Disambiguation is covered by Nanshan and Namsan.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Rob Sinden (talk) 22:06, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

Nomination of 南山 for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article 南山 is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/南山 (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Rob Sinden (talk) 22:14, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

I'm not complaining - just seeking information.
It has been suggested that this article be split into multiple articles accessible from a disambiguation page.

  • It has been suggested by whom?
  • Where is this suggestion?
  • What are the reasons for this suggestion, and for the split?

If I knew the answers to these questions, I might possible agree. At the moment, it seems little more than a random comment. Or am I missing something? If so, please inform me. Pdfpdf (talk) 12:03, 16 September 2013 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Adventure Time - Marceline.png

Thank you for uploading File:Adventure Time - Marceline.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 17:02, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:Adventure Time - Marceline.png

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Adventure Time - Marceline.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. Removal of Korean dub info from Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir

Hi JSH-alive, thanks for your contributions to the Miraculous page. I was hoping you could clarify why you are insistent that the Korean dub info not be included on the page? You made a point of noting that it first aired in South Korea, which I believe makes the Korean dub notable enough to be included.

Additionally, in the future, it would be a great help if you broke up your edits into several smaller edits instead of one massive edit; this also allows you to explain your edits in more detail in the edit summary. Thanks. Soren121 (talk) 18:23, 31 March 2016 (UTC)

Sure, the South Korean companies were involved in the production, and it was first shown in South Korea. However, I believe the Korean dub is simply a translation of scripts written by French pals. English cast is notable enough here in English WP to list, but I think Korean cast is not, unless the production was lead by Koreans. JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 14:23, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
Since this is being contested by others, I've opened a discussion on the article's talk page. I would appreciate it if you could chime in! Soren121 (talk) 04:55, 6 April 2016 (UTC)

Hello, JSH-alive. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "List of Rádio e Televisão de Portugal television services".

In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. —MRD2014 T C 15:05, 27 June 2016 (UTC)

Meanings of Rio mascots' proposed names

Hi JSH-alive. I noticed with this edit, you added a bit about the meaning of the other proposed names for the Rio 2016 mascots (the "Oba and Eba" and "Tiba Tuque and Esquindim"). I think what you added is interesting, but I took a look at the source that you provided, and it doesn't seem to provide as detailed an explanation as you explained in the article. It only lists "Oba and Eba" and "Tiba Tuque and Esquindim" without explaining what they mean. Per our policy against original research, we should only publish what has been stated in reliable sources. Is there a source that directly verifies the meanings that you wrote? Disambiguation link notification for April 25

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited EBS1, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page DTT. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

TVB

Ok, if it wasn't an error, why did you remove the redirect?Atsme📞📧 01:16, 21 July 2017 (UTC)

I wanted to create a stub article about a defunct satellite TV provider so anyone fluent in Chinese could expand it by translating an article at Chinese WP. JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 01:33, 21 July 2017 (UTC)

As you keep moving TVB Network Vision back into mainspace, could you please consider establishing notability by providing more sources and using the correct MoS for displaying them. Thanks. (See WP:CITE for help). Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 06:20, 21 July 2017 (UTC)

Okay.
  1. It was one of the businesses operated by TVB.
  2. Apart from very basic satellite offering from I Cable, TVB NV was the only major satellite TV service in Hong Kong.
That's the justifications I have for now. But the equivalent article at the Chinese WP (which is titled 大台網 right now) being lengthy tells me something. JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 14:45, 21 July 2017 (UTC)

I changed my mind. I'll nominate the TVB Network Vision article (which was moved by someone to Big Big Channel by now) for speedy deletion, and instead, will list both 'TVB Pay vision' (the defunct satellite service) and 'Big Big Channel' (the ongoing online social video service) at Wikipedia:Requested articles/Arts and entertainment/Film, radio and television. Is that okay, Atsme and Kudpung?

By the way, I've been wandering around https://www.icris.cr.gov.hk/ , and found some interesting facts:

  • Big Big Channel Limited (CR No.: 0458688; the former TVB Network Vision Limited)
    • was established in December 1993 as Principal Axis Company Limited
    • renamed in February 1994 as Galaxy Satellite Broadcasting Limited
    • renamed in February 1995 as Galaxy Uplink Limited, but reverted back to Galaxy Satellite Broadcasting Limited in February 1998
    • Chinese name was added in May 1998
    • renamed in April 2006 as TVB Pay Vision Limited
    • renamed in March 2013 as TVB Network Vision Limited
    • renamed on 23 May 2017 as Big Big Channel Limited
  • The new TVB Network Vision Limited (CR No: 2548490) was established on 23 June 2017.

There's one HK company previously known as Big Big Channel Limited:

  • TVB.com Limited (CR No.: 2307334; the former Big Big Channel Limited)
    • was established in November 2015 as CMC Global Group Limited
    • renamed on 29 July 2016 as Big Big Channel Limited
    • renamed in May 2017 as TVB Channel Limited
    • renamed in June 2017 as TVB.com Limited

Speaking of TVB.com , there are two HK companies previously known as TVB.com Limited:

  • TVB Publishing Holding Limited (CR No.: 0693405)
    • was established in November 1999 as TVB.com Limited
    • Chinese name was added in January 2000
    • renamed on 12 December 2001 as TVB Publishing Holding Limited
  • MyTV Super Limited (CR No.: 0753286)
    • was established in April 2001 as Jade Profit Limited
    • renamed on 12 December 2001 as TVB.com Limited
    • renamed on 20 June 2017 as MyTV Super Limited

Other companies related to TVB Pay/Network Vision:

  • TVB Satellite Broadcasting Limited (CR No.: 0458729)
    • was established in December 1993 as Evangelista Company Limited
    • renamed in February 1994 as Galaxy Television Limited
    • renamed in February 1995 as Galaxy Management Services Limited

    • was established in February 2003 as Galaxy Satellite TV Holdings Limited
    • renamed in April 2006 as TVB Pay Vision Holdings Limited
  • TVB Satellite TV (HK) Limited (CR No.: 0856640)
    • was established in August 2003 as Huge Sky Limited

I was unable to use desktop internet in last few days. Anyway, I'm going to tag Big Big Channel for speedy deletion, and list 'TVB Network Vision', 'MyTV Super' and 'Big Big Channel' at Wikipedia:Requested articles/Arts and entertainment/Film, radio and television in a moment. No independent references. Please add WP:Reliable sources independent references.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Comment on speedy deletion of Sony Channel (Estonia)

The page you're trying to move appears to not exist for me. Are you sure you tagged it for a move of the correct page? jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk • contribs) 03:48, 27 November 2017 (UTC)

It's a useless redirect. It redirects to Sony Channel which is already a disambiguation page. Plus, what Estonians actually get is a pan-Baltic version. (Note that there's no page named Sony Channel (Baltic) yet.) JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 05:12, 27 November 2017 (UTC)

ANI Experiences survey

The Wikimedia Foundation Community health initiative (led by the Safety and Support and Anti-Harassment Tools team) is conducting a survey for en.wikipedia contributors on their experience and satisfaction level with the Administrator’s Noticeboard/Incidents. This survey will be integral to gathering information about how this noticeboard works - which problems it deals with well, and which problems it struggles with.

The survey should take 10-20 minutes to answer, and your individual responses will not be made public. The survey is delivered through Google Forms. The privacy policy for the survey describes how and when Wikimedia collects, uses, and shares the information we receive from survey participants and can be found here:

If you would like to take this survey, please sign up on this page, and a link for the survey will be mailed to you via Special:Emailuser.

Please be aware this survey will close Friday, Dec. 8 at 23:00 UTC.

The article International Distribution Company has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (companies) requirement. LoliRock original language

I think it should be okay to list both French and English for the original languages for LoliRock. If you note the credits on their development website, they make a list of voice actors out for those two languages first, so any other languages would be non-notable localizations. SFR Belux (former Coditel)

I want to make an article creation request. It's about SFR Belux (formerly known as Coditel, and then Numericable Belux), the cable TV operator in Belgium and Luxembourg recently sold to Telenet. There are articles at the French Wikipedia (fr:SFR Belux) and Luxembourgish Wikipedia (lb:Coditel). (I think the Luxembourgish article has more on the company's history.)

JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 12:06, 29 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi there, JSH-alive! I'm afraid this is an inappropriate forum to request an article - We have the Requested Articles process, or you can be WP:BOLD and start the article yourself! See the Article Wizard here. Good luck with the article! -- Cheers, Alfie. (Say Hi!) 14:31, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
@Alfiepates: I know. But making a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles/Business and economics/Companies is very confusing. JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 14:49, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
In that case, I've made the request on your behalf here. Good luck, I hope the article creation is evaluated soon! -- Cheers, Alfie. (Say Hi!) 14:55, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
Thank you. I didn't know where should I put an entry in an empty(?) page. JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 15:04, 29 January 2018 (UTC)

SuperSport

Hello JSH. Was the channel described in SuperSport (Scandinavian TV channel) ever actually known as SuperSport? If so, then it should appear as a disambiguation entry when a reader visits the redirect SuperSport. Once SuperSport (Scandinavian TV channel) is merged, that title will become a redirect to C More Sport or a subsection of it, so the link will continue to work and will still be useful per WP:DABMENTION. But if that title was simply an error, then let's leave it off the dab page. What do you think? Certes (talk) 13:44, 4 April 2018 (UTC)

Naspers in the Republic of South Africa still owns the pan-African SuperSport, but in 1997, it sold most of European operations of SuperSport (along with FilmNet film channels) to Canal+. (The Nordic SuperSport and FilmNet were part of the sale.) SuperSport in the Nordics became a part of Canal+, and has evolved into what is now C More Sport since then. Your draft article, Draft:Pirata & Capitano

Hello, JSH-alive. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Pirata & Capitano".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 10:01, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

Miraculous Distributor Part 2

It doesn't matter that Miraculous is distributed by Toei Company, or what it says in the credits. My guess is that Miraculous is distributed by Toei Company. The company that owns Toei Animation, who produces the show too with Zagtoon. My guess is that it's distributed by the Toei Company. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PascalMuganyizi (talkcontribs) 20:30, 24 July 2018 (UTC)

@PascalMuganyizi: If Toei and/or Toei Animation was going to hold license for Japan and distribute the show to Japanese broadcasters, then the Japanese company would have been listed as one of distributors (aside from production companies) already. JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 15:50, 25 July 2018 (UTC)

What's that mean? Can you put it in layman terms for me, but Ladybug's been aired on Disney Channel Japan, and my guess is that it's distributed by Toei Company. PascalMuganyizi

WP:ANI report

Your report at WP:ANI was removed by an admin because neither editor has contributed for many years. In the remote chance that either PeterPieglMultiChoice or Erene.kairuz ever returns to Wikipedia, I have left the standard {{uw-paid1}} notice on their talk pages. Miraculous LadyBug Distributor: Toei Animation: Production But Toei Company: A Distributor? Part 2

Look closely at the closing credits. You will find both SAMG and Toei Animation in the copyright notice at the end, indicating that they have participated in the production. But if you rewind a few seconds before, there's a separate list of international distributors of Miraculous. SAMG is listed as such, but neither Toei Animation nor its parent company Toei Company is listed as distributor, meaning that the Japanese company won't distribute the series.
