RfA support thank-you note![edit]

Thanks for contributing to my successful RfA!
To the people who have supported my request: I appreciate the show of confidence in me and I hope I live up to your expectations!
To the people who opposed the request: I'm certainly not ignoring the constructive criticism and advice you've offered. I thank you as well!

Daniel 123's RfA[edit]

Come on, will you count my vote? You closed it as I made a final statement (mind you it was the 18th minute when I opposed). But I guess it doesn't matter now anyway. Aaрон Кинни (t) 23:19, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I realize you weren't ignoring my vote, just that it was on the last minute and all, I figured, you know, that it wouldn't be counted. Thanks! Aaрон Кинни (t) 23:27, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, good work on that. You closed it right on the dot. Aaрон Кинни (t) 23:34, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Daniel 123's RfA[edit]

Hey, thanks for the advice. I definately should have waited to post my RfA... I'm up to something like 330 edits now, but I'm planning on running again once I can reach about 1200 edits. Thank you for not biting my head off, Dan 19:58, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I see youv'e removed Hayles from the squad - if you can spare a mo I'd be grateful if you could remove Berry Powell. I've tried to do it, but Dave Livermore goes "all wonkey"! All the best, Lion King 15:08, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your time, I'd forgotten Livers! Nothing new, they've been flogging players since Dick Turpin told 'em they were worth money! Be Lucky, Lion King 18:10, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

my RfA[edit]

Thanks for your support opinion on my RfA. With a final vote of (62/0/1), my RfA passed, and I am now an Administrator. I will work hard to ensure that the tools entrusted to me will not be abused, and will wield my mop proudly.
Happy editing! --Firsfron of Ronchester 23:31, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Nanny mcphee.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Nanny mcphee.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --85.160.14.179 07:16, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA and your vote[edit]

Hi JJ the Crusader,
Thanks for participating in my RFA! Ultimately, no consensus was reached, but I still appreciate the fact that you showed up to add in your two cents. Also, I'd like to thank you for pointing out the work I did with IPA. As you probably know, it's very alleviating to hear words of praise during the RFA process. It looks like the RFA process has changed a lot since your own adminship request—so it's wondeful to see veterans like yourself still participating! You can feel free to talk to me about it or add some advice on my improvement page.

Sincerely, The ikiroid (talkdeskAdvise me)

RE: IP autoblock[edit]

When I went to edit a page, it came up with a title saying that you (JJ THE CRUSADER) blocked my ip address due to a username "DoodyDooDooHeadFace" for inappropriate username. I have never had an account with Wikipedia until about an hour ago. My email address is [email protected] I would greatly appreciate it if you could get back to me as soon as possible so that we can resolve this issue. Thanks for your time.

You've got a Thank you card![edit]

Thank you[edit]

SERIOUSLY, I'LL QUIT HARRASSING YOU GUYS IF I AM REMOVED FROM WP:LTA (and preferably the myg0t article is undeleted, but I can live without that if you are unwilling) 205.188.116.68 01:53, 12 August 2006 (UTC) - signed Johnny Knight[reply]

If you wish to be removed from LTA you should mention it on the talk page of that article and see what other people think, although I doubt too many will agree to it. I will not remove your entry myself until you have stopped creating sockpuppets, I have no reason to believe you are serious. Similarly, if you want the article undeleted go to Wikipedia:Deletion review and argue your case. Be warned though, you will find we are not willing to trade with vandals. Paul Ince[edit]

Paul Ince has signed for Swindon Town, and tomorrow morning when it's in the papers, you can shove it up your ass, just because you have not heard of an event does not mean it has not happened, are you a walking grandstand? I have spoken to Paul ince this evening and he told me he has signed for Swindon, and in few hours your look like the fool you are, and maybe not be so quick to edit posts like hitler

I do not doubt that you may be correct about him signing for Swindon, the deal has been on the cards for a while. Unfortunately, as our policies clearly state, we are not a primary news source. All information added to articles must be independently verifiable, which this information is not at this stage. If and when news comes out about his future, then it may be added to his article.
Also, please refrain from insulting other editors (it gets in the way of rational discussion). JJ the Crusader 02:51, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Userfy request[edit]

If you'd be so kind, I'd like to request that this article be userfied in my namespace. The author or major contributor is on a temp. wikibreak and wishes to work on it after he returns (K.V.). At that time I will be more than happy to move it to his own user namepace. Something like User:SynergeticMaggot/Hermeticism and other thought systems would be fine. Thanks. RfA[edit]

Hi.

File:Scarlettanager99.jpg Hello, JJ the Crusader, and thank you for the support and very nice comments on my recent RfA. The final tally was 72/1/0, and I have now been entrusted with the mop. I'll be tentative with the new buttons for a while, and certainly welcome any and all feedback on how I might be able to use them to help the project, especially from someone who knows the ropes as well as you do. All the best, and thanks again! — Deville (Talk) 01:09, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Block[edit]

You usernameblocked 12123434 with the summary that it was apparently a random combination of numbers. However, I disagree. It does not seem random. Broken into parts, it's a pattern: 12-12-34-34. --Gray Porpoise 00:26, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reply. I understand. Thank you for helping Wikipedia with your administrative powers. --Gray Porpoise 00:45, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Protection against Re-Creation//Ayenee article.[edit]

At 21:50, 29 July 2006, the Ayenee article was cited for deletion and protection against recreation..May i ask why? the reasons cited do not show up on the deletion review page.

Why is User:12123434 blocked? It doesn't really seem like he has a inappropriate username. --75.33.224.219 02:43, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I will repeat my reply to Gray Porpoise: "I would say that one could break down any sequence into such components. Almost every day an account such as User:asdfasdfasdfasdf is created, these too can be similarly broken down. Given the numbers used, it would seem likely the numbers were simply the most conveniently available on the keypad rather than imbued with any significance. Be this as it may, numerical sequences over four or five are almost always blocked as usernames as they are very limited in their ability to fulfil the duel purposes of identification and aiding communication. I hope this helps explain where I am coming from." For the record, I would also block a hypothetical User:12345678. JJ the Crusader 12:32, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, this is an interesting incident. I had no idea people actually acted upon this rule. Are you the only one, or are there others? Trying to search the block log for random-like names is, well, difficult. 192.75.48.150 15:48, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hah, found one. Never mind. 192.75.48.150 17:15, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: RfA listing[edit]

I am not discouraged by the result. In the beggining at least many good points were raised. I will continue to contribute to wikipedia and perhaps in the future (such as when I have over 1000 no-userpage edits) I will request again. kc4 - the Server Monkey Enforcer 21:12, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: deletion of Aquilupes[edit]

Excuse me,

I recently wrote an article about Aquilupes, a race of creatures I created, and it was deleted. I don't mean to be rude, but why exactly was the article deleted? It took me a while to write.

Hi. Thanks for your message. I was just checking a few things when it started to happen and I couldn't remember who to report it to. I remembered that you were an Admin. so I took the chance that you may have been logged on. I'd been working most of the evening and night and was dead on my feet - I've never had to go to a test4 and thought what the hell do I do If they vandalise again! Thanks very much for your time. Best wishes, Lion King 16:49, 8 September 2006 (UTC)PS I have a feeling that this user created an account after the test4 User:Kolanowski and vandalised Dylan again & Bob Dylan. Thank you so much for supporting my RfA! It ended up passing and I'm rather humbled by the support (and a bit surprised that it was snowballed a day early!). Please let me know if I can help you out and I welcome any comments, questions, or advice you wish to share.

My RFA[edit]

Thank you, JJ the Crusader, for voting on my RFA, which passed 95 to 1, as well as leaving those kind words. Now that I have the mop, I hope I can live up to the level-headed never-blocked standard that you like, and be a good administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. —this is messedrocker (talk) 17:28, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RfA thanks[edit]

Thank you for participating in my RfA, which passed with a tally of 66/11/5. I learned quite a bit during the process, and I expect to be learning a lot more in the days ahead. I will be taking things slowly (and doing a lot of re-reading), but I hope you will let me know if there is anything I can do to improve in my new capacity. -- Merope Talk 13:37, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

About the tables in the list of films by year[edit]

Hi JJ the Crusader, I did a lot of work lately to make each year of the list of films by year as uniform as possible from the first years until 2001. I have added all films of each year that were in awards and top grossing in one comprehensive list (formerly "other films released") called "Films realeased in 19xx", making sure of the film's release year. This list comes always directly under Awards. When I came to the tables in the 1990s, I formated them in a uniform way and I have nothing against them, so long as there is this one comprehensive list without table formating. The reason is that we are crossing entries with other lists, it's a lot of work and it's very hard to enter or copy code in table form. See also discussion in the Lists of films talk page. Now I have reached 2002 where you have done some nice work in creating tables for this "Other films" list. Since it would be very silly to make another list where I add all the films of 2002, would it be ok if I remove the table and put all entries in a comprehensive listing? I would like to make sure my work doesn't cause any data loss, so I could include all your data in the simple list. Please, let me know either in the List of films talk or in my user talk page. Regards, Hoverfish 12:36, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for answering, JJ the Crusader. The style of presentation can become as in the years before, but the additional tabled information, does tend to follow the times, the concerns of film production, not only as art, so I find it would be ok if in the last years such things should be mentioned, but they should come in a nice proprotion and priority, which is hard for me to decide how. So I will just make each year's full list of releases and keep the notes in US release dates. Apart from forming the films by year, my concern is to finish the listing until the present and to add backwards in years all other awards. Hoverfish 22:38, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! I noticed you deleted this article with the message "AFD consensus." I can't find the AfD that this had a consensus to delete for, could you let me know which one it was? Thanks. --badlydrawnjeff talk 21:24, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your input sought[edit]

Pmanderson is up for another RfA, and I had similar experiences to the ones you were talking about on his last RfA. I don't think he's ready, or may not even have the temperament period (as witnessed also by his recent 3RR). Skyemoor 05:16, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A request for assistance[edit]

Would you support the concept of moving the Earhart "myths" to a separate page or article? The reason for my suggesting this is that the main article should be an accurate and scholarly work while the speculation and conspiracy theories surrounding the disappearance of Amelia Earhart are interesting, they belong in a unique section. Most researchers, as you know, discount the many theories and speculation that has arisen in the years following her last flight. Go onto the Earhart discussion page and register your vote/comments...and a Happy New Year to you as well. Bzuk 03:02 3 January 2007 (UTC).
