Thanks for contributing the new article on academic authorship; that's good Wikipedia material. I've left some comments on its Talk page about where this material should ultimately end up, in case you want to respond there. -- Rbellin|Talk 21:12, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Saw (diambiguation), by JohnI (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Saw (diambiguation) fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

Housekeeping. Non-controversial maintenance task performing a non-controversial page move like reversing a redirect.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Saw (diambiguation), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 14:37, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

help with images?

You removed my photos of my pee chee folder from the Pee Chee Folder page. Was that because I hadn't marked the right copyright license? I tried to release as much as I could. I've had trouble with this in the past, when I went on vacation, came back and learned that a photo I'd taken had been removed and deleted since the rules about copyright release had changed and I couldn't respond with an updated license in the month I was away. That photo is gone now, and I don't have a copy, unless you, who know better, have a way to find my picture of cardboard in the dustbin.

Or maybe you think it's copyright infringement to publish my own photos of a Pee Chee folder because the folder is copyrighted? Please clarify. --Zachbe 12:06, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your response. I understand Wikipedia philosophy, and don't want to break any copyright laws, I just wanted to clarify that no matter what tag was on the image, any image of a Pee-Chee, in your reading, would be copyright infringement. If the issue is the tag, I'm happy to put any tag on the image. There are a thousand types of tags, and new ones develop regularly, and understanding them all is beyond me. What I don't understand is at what point the image belongs to the Pee-Chee company and at what point the image belongs to me. If I take a picture of the Empire State Building do I theoretically need the permission of its owners to publish it? Album covers are copyrighted, but somehow they're generally published on Wikipedia...--Zachbe 17:53, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for joining, the project is very new, please look around the Project page and the talk page for things you can do or add some ideas of your own to the list. In addition to working on breed taxobox design, we are considering our relationship to other projects, particularly the three currently extent and one proposed for horses, and we're still working on defining our scope and what we consider the articles of top importance to our project. Also, for some reason a lot of Ag sites seem prone to vandalism more than maybe some other areas, so it's always helpful if you add a bunch of pages to your watch list and patrol them for vandals. Thanks and once more, Welcome!--Doug.(talk contribs) 03:41, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Interesting

Even though the edit tab came up on the main page when you unprotected it, the edit window still wouldn't come up due to the cascading protection. Is that what you were testing? —Elipongo (Talk contribs) 05:50, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

What are you doing? Raul654 (talk) 05:52, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Please do page protection tests someplace else like creating user subpages. Otherwise you may run the risk of getting an emergency desysop like this user whose account was compromised. Thanks. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 06:05, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
I've indefinitely blocked this account as a possible compromised account - it deleted atheism which was the cause of the database lock several minutes ago. 'Graham'87 06:09, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

I've had him desysopped, and unblocked him myself. Checkuser seems to show that this account has been compromised (it's using an IP far, far out of the usual range). Raul654 (talk) 06:17, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Looks like the admin account was given to someone at the Something Awful forums. The359 (talk) 08:56, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

I'm not yet sure what was going on, but apparently my account was being used by someone. I have now changed the password and will monitor my account activity closely. ike9898 (talk) 17:12, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Last night, someone using your account unprotected and vandalized the main page, then delete the atheism article (which, in turn, caused the database servers to lock up while they caught up and the whole site went into read-only mode).
Checkuser confirms that Ike is now back in control of his account. Raul654 (talk) 17:20, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

I've restored your systop bit. Raul654 (talk) 19:25, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Starreach1.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Starreach1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 15:59, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
