Welcome![edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Thank you for contributing edits that were made in good faith, but have been deemed not to contribute positively to the article. These edits have thus been reverted. Wikipedia's page on unacceptable additions may explain why. If you'd like to experiment with the syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles.

Some good links for newcomers are:

Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and a timestamp. If you need help, check out the Teahouse, ask the Help Desk, or place {{Help me}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Once again, welcome! Rasnaboy (talk) 05:06, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Gudisoc. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Emilio Sempris, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Storchy (talk) 05:34, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

April 2022[edit]

Information icon

Hello Gudisoc. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Emilio Sempris, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Gudisoc. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Gudisoc|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Storchy (talk) 06:18, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Stochy. Thank you for reaching out. I have no relation with the him. I am interested in personalities and goverment institutions in environment and sustainability in Central America, for there is a big information gap. I started with him because the level of information available in Spanish and English. I am bilingual, so I am relaying on information that otherwise would not be used. For instance, I found and initially posted this info a few days ago, https://forocilac18.sched.com/speaker/emilio_sempris.1yd81r07, then proceeded to delete it as it was not in the right right format. I started with Panamá, I will also addresss people and goverment institutions in the emerging sutainability arena in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Hondras. I have no financial or personal relation with anybody I write about in wikipedia or outside wikipedia. Gudisoc (talk) 01:03, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Then may I ask how you had access to his original certificates of recognition, photos of him as a boy in 1985, etc, that you've uploaded to Wikimedia Commons? You've scanned his documents and photos, and uploaded the scanned images as your own work. Storchy (talk) 07:10, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Storch, We are talking about a public figure with public files in websites and social networks. If they were not legit, he/she would be destroyed. I upladed the files I downloaded from servir.net, and twitter, facebook or linkedin. I undertand they are public files.
hanks again for the heads up. T Gudisoc (talk) 19:17, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Correct attribution for translation[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from one or more pages to Ministry of Environment (Panama). While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an edit summary on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking it to the source page. For example: Content in this edit is translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk pages of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, please add attribution retrospectively for that also, even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. (t · c) buidhe 18:13, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Ministry of Environment (Panama), needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
