Bot creating erroneous links

Within the last 24 hours or so your bot seems to have created articles about some 300 species containing the following line in the infobox:

superfamilia = [[Trochoidea]]

This link is incorrect, because Trochoidea is a disambiguation page. Please correct the bot so that it will link to Trochoidea (superfamily) instead on any additional pages. Thank you. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 11:34, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

It is done creating species under Trochoidea (superfamily), so will not be a problem anymore. In the future, I will check to make sure superfamilies and families do not link to disambiguation pages. Ganeshk (talk) 12:59, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Use of bot for CfD tagging

Hi there Ganeshk, just wondering if you actually got approval to run those recent CfD taggings. If not, please remeber to in future, only use this account to run tasks which have been approved by BAG. You should use your own account for semi-automated editing, with tools such as AWB, you should never use this account for unapproved semi, fully-automated, or manual editing (it should be limited to only doing edits approved at BRfA). You are of course free to submit a BRfA for CfD tagging so you can do it in the future. Best, - Kingpin13 (talk) 18:04, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Okay, no problems, but even the simplest tasks should really go through BAG :D. Well, there's one exception; interwiki linking by a global bot, but otherwise be sure to go through a BRfA, feel free to badger BAG if it's taking to long :D. Oh, I also meant to mention, I noticed the bot was editing very fast, don't forget to put in a 10 or so second break between edits, unless there is a need to get them done very fast. Cheers, - Kingpin13 (talk) 18:20, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

How many...?

Hi, how many articles are you going to add to Wikipedia about species?--Александр Мотин (talk) 14:43, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Distorsio anus, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.jaxshells.org/anus.htm.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Phalium articles

Are you sure about all these Phalium species articles you are creating? Many are tied in WoRMS to a single out-of-print book by amature shell collectors, and the taxonomic "expert" for the clade on WoRMS is also an amature. I think you are making a big mistake creating these articles with a bot, as they should be researched and the taxonomic status of the species should be verified by an expert. This has not happened. Your contributed article, Nerkunram

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Nerkunram. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Nerkundram. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Nerkundram – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 12:48, 22 August 2016 (UTC)

Notice

The article Tectarius armatus has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No longer appears to be considered a valid taxa at all, and doesn't seem to have been synonymised. Completely deleted from WoRMS, and not mentioned anywhere on the genus entry either. Normally if species are synonymised, they are mentioned on the genus page, and will show up in a search, but that isn't the case. I can't find the name used any later than 1990 on Google Scholar, and there are no entries for it on ScienceDirect. On the whole I don't think we can keep this, and there isn't a suitable redirect target that I can find.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. A tag has been placed on Category:Orania requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. A tag has been placed on Morula zebrina requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an individual animal that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

A tag has been placed on Narsingi, Ranga Reddy district requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
