March 2019[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

That includes the Teahouse. David Biddulph (talk) 03:07, 2 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries[edit]

Whenever you make changes to an article, it helps if you describe what you did in the Edit summary (at bottom of page). Also, adding a word or two or three that does not improve the intention of the article (programme, sport...) is not considered good editing. David notMD (talk) 03:30, 2 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Richard Gibson (footballer)[edit]

Hello, and thank you for trying to improve the article about Richard Gibson (footballer). However, I undid your changes the first time, and will do so again, because I didn't think they made the article better, and thought I should explain why.

Including the word "football" in the opening sentence, so that instead of

Gibson was an English professional footballer who played as a winger.

it reads

Gibson was an English professional footballer who played football as a winger.

makes the sentence repetitive without adding any information. And I'm afraid that sticking Then he died. onto the end of the paragraph just makes it read like a child's story rather than an entry in an encyclopedia.

I see you're aware of the Teahouse. If you don't understand what I'm trying to say here, I'm sure someone there will be able to help you. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 09:09, 4 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

What were you thinking?[edit]

Is there a reason you restored slurs three times here [1] and gave extensive warnings to the accounts that correctly removed them? It’s time to start responding to questions about your edits. 208.105.50.34 (talk) 13:56, 4 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
