How to build your page

[edit]

It appears pretty clear that you are trying to create a page about a singer by copying an existing page. Good idea, terrible execution. Creating a page in the main article space that uses all of the text (or really, any of the text) from one article while writing about a completely different subject means that at times there will be completely false information available for the general public to read. This is never acceptable.

Better idea: write the article in your user space (for example, at User:Danicek06/Derrion Tolanski. There, you can copy stuff from all over Wikipedia, and massage it into the form you want. When it is finally ready, you can move it into the main article space (at Derrion Tolanski), and readers will see a complete, correct article, rather than a mix of facts and falsehoods.

Remember, though, that the article must be about a person who meets the criteria for inclusion, and must be properly cited so that the material can be verified.

Good luck. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:02, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Derrion Tolanski requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Eeekster (talk) 19:43, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • See WP:MUSICBIO for what a musical performer needs to have achieved before having a Wikipedia article. Your article said: "Tolanski is mostly known for using the Internet to independently promote his own music ". Good luck to him, but Wikipedia is not a place to pursue that strategy, because it is not for any kind of promotion, see also WP:UPANDCOMING. JohnCD (talk) 20:27, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Danicek06. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Derrion Tolanski, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Derrion Tolanski to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.

If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Thanks, Anastasia (talk) 21:09, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Derrion Tolanski

[edit]

You cannot get an unsuitable article in by continually reposting it.

WP:REFUND is not a place to post a copy of your deleted article. The reviewing administrator will be able to see what was deleted. What you should add at WP:REFUND#Derrion Tolanski‎ is a brief statement of why you think the article should be restored - in particular, how Tolanski meets the notability requirements of WP:MUSICBIO. Please stop

[edit]

...and read the advice you have been given. If you simply keep reposting this material, you may be blocked from editing. JohnCD (talk) 21:41, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reasons?

[edit]

Hi Danice06,

Would you please tell me why you don't want your article deleted? Recreating it without permission is not going to solve this and could get your account blocked. Any biography of a living person that has no refrences will be speedily deleted, rules are rules. ~ Anastasia (talk) 19:32, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
