Your request for Autopatrolled
Hi DaHuzyBru, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled right to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the patroller right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! kelapstick(bainuu) 14:17, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
- @Kelapstick: Much appreciated! DaHuzyBru (talk) 15:19, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
Durant height
Hey again. You know what you should do? You should put one of those message that you can only see while editing on the KD page saying don't change his height. That way nobody will change it. I don't know how but I am sure you do. While I'm here, I would myself like to thank you for what you do here. I know this isn't really worth saying but I go to that page every day, so thanks for that. DangerousJXD (talk) 00:07, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
- @DangerousJXD: No worries, I appreciate it. In terms of Durant's height, there haven't been too many edits to his height recently (other than yourself!) so it's not imperative to add a hidden note, but because you have requested it, I shall. Cheers. DaHuzyBru (talk) 03:23, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
- Hey, DaHuzy, saw your edit. Are you aware that you can link things on Wikipedia (and maybe even off Wikipedia, I don't recall about the latter) in your edit summaries? - Bossanoven (talk) 07:20, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
- Bossanoven – I am aware of this, yes. I link WP:OVERLINK for example regularly. Why do you ask? DaHuzyBru (talk) 08:28, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
- It's nothing too important, it's just that it seems that you make myriad edits with edit summaries containing urls and such without properly linking. It would be more helpful is all I'm saying. - Bossanoven (talk) 08:52, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
- Hm, ok thanks but, there's nothing wrong with that and I find it to be much simpler when I want to quickly link something. Linking a url makes it clear to see what you are referring to and it's simple to drag over it, right click and "Go to [url]". Thanks for the concern, but I've done that for while now and I'm not planning on changing that. Cheers. DaHuzyBru (talk) 08:58, 11 February 2015 (UTC)

Jimmy Butler
Hello!!! OK so, some body put one of them request image template at the Whiteside page so I thought I'd do the same for J. Butler. But now there is a picture? Who put it there? Maybe I'm blind because there was no image just a few days ago when I was at that page and I can't see anyone adding a pic in the edit history. I thought it might have been you so I was going to thank you but I don't know whether it was. Also what a crummy picture. Well at least there is a picture. -DangerousJXD (talk) 05:51, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
- @DangerousJXD: Jimmy Butler has had this average looking picture for a while now. However, nearly every week, people attempt to add a new image that nearly always gets deleted off Wiki commons because they are either copyrighted or the user hasn't uploaded it correctly i.e. hasn't provided the correct information on legality. If you see here, this user has just now added this image claiming it to be his own work. This will likely be removed from commons in the coming days as that if definitely not their work. I always end up reverting back to the old average image once the failed attempts are deleted. Unless someone can upload a new image correctly, the "crummy" picture is going to Butler's only image that can be used. DaHuzyBru (talk) 06:59, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
- That Butler pic can be seen here. It's not a free image. DaHuzyBru (talk) 07:04, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
- Why can't that image be used? Copyright? -DangerousJXD (talk) 07:06, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
- The point of this is that the user claimed it to be his own work when it is clearly not. I'm not an expert on uploading images, I too have tried in the past and failed. All I know is that Flickr is the best place to find free images, but even here it's difficult as lots of them are copyright protected i.e. this image is not free because the owner/uploader has marked it as "All rights reserved". Whereas, if you can find an image like this one that is marked with "Some rights reserved", it can be distributed and used by others like Wikipedia. Wikipedia:Upload/Flickr is useful to determine what can and can't be uploaded. DaHuzyBru (talk) 07:16, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
- How about this?: [1]
Someone can crop it and done right? -DangerousJXD (talk) 07:43, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, per this. Nando de Colo already has that image. DaHuzyBru (talk) 07:49, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

Bulleen Boomers
Kyrie Irving's article mentions that his did played for Bulleen Boomers in Australia, except that article redirects to the women's team, Melbourne Boomers. Is the men's team part of the same organization as the women's? I'm wondering if one of those articles need to be expanded, a separate men's article is needed, or should it just not be linked at all. Since these types of sports organizations don't exist in the U.S, I'm probably missing something at http://www.foxsportspulse.com/assoc_page.cgi?c=1-4600-0-0-0&sID=56643 —Bagumba (talk) 05:36, 13 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Bagumba: Yeah, nah, the Melbourne Boomers (formerly Bulleen Boomers) are a separate Women's NBL team that has nothing to do with the second division Bulleen Boomers that play in the Big V (both men's and women's). Drederick Irving played for the Boomers when they were part of the South East Australian Basketball League in the 90s. So I think what's easiest is to just remove the link because yes, that is misleading linking to a separate women's team. If a new Bulleen Boomers article was to be created, it would need to be something like Bulleen Boomers (Big V) as to distinguish it, but I'm not going to start that – not many Aussie second division teams have articles. Giants stadium
It's been wrong for many years but never changed. The official Giants website has now been changed, and so has the Giants Wiki page and the SBL Wiki page. Niels Hansen was the original designer and architect of the stadium, and it's a common German and Danish name. [User:Lukosius|Lukosius]] (talk) 20:16, 16 March 2015 (UTC)

Why do you need those long dashes? What's the difference? Jmatni (talk) Jmatni (talk) 18:19, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- They are the dashes more commonly used on Wikipedia and are used for season pages and team season pages e.g. 2014–15 Brooklyn Nets season and 2014–15 NBA season, instead of 2014-15 Brooklyn Nets season and 2014-15 NBA season. 18:47, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
Jimmy Butler
Why do you have to delete what I added? It was already announced look it up. Even if it wasn't "officially" announced it was just going to happen later today. I just don't think there any need to delete the content I added.
- @Rocker1096: It has not been officially announced by the NBA, so it should not be listed yet. Just be patient. Like you said, it will be announced very soon. When there is something listed here, then we can add it. DaHuzyBru (talk) 12:59, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

I have made Kevin Love a free agent, I did this because he opt out, He could return, But when you opt out/get cut from your contract, you are a free agent. I made this to make sure if this is okay? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Saxpod (talk • contribs) 16:09, 25 June 2015 (UTC)

Free Agency Questions
Hello,
When a player is a Free Agent do you remove him from the roster and do you also have the another team thread as Free Agent?
Thank you, UVABallers

- @Almighty Chief Keef Sosa: They are just reports. He has reportedly agreed to the sign with the Spurs. He can not officially sign with them until July 9 when the NBA moratorium ends. When his signing is listed here, we can update it. Wikipedia is not a rumor mill, we update based off official sources i.e. NBA.com. DaHuzyBru (talk) 17:18, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
Hi! Since a paragraph about this is already created I want to ask. Free agents can sign from July 8, but why you changed it back to July 9? Is it because of time zone differences? Or there are other reasons? Cheers. – Sabbatino (talk) 10:11, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Sabbatino: Nah, it's 12:00 am EST on July 9 (East Coast USA time). I just messed up early. I saw the moratorium went from July 1 to July 8, so I went with July 8 until I realised July 9 was the first day of signings. DaHuzyBru (talk) 10:18, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

Hardcoreromancatholic (talk) 05:34, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Hardcoreromancatholic: Unfortunately I do not. And to be honest, I don't really care. I don't delve into that side of the NBA, in terms of money. For me, that is not what is important, and a lot of the time, it's just speculation by media outlets, which I also do not pay too much attention to. DaHuzyBru (talk) 06:01, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

According to NBA Moratorium rules, they are not actually allowed to sign with a team until Thursday July 9, 2015, so you need to wait until tomorrow to change it.

NBA Rosters Upcoming Season
Hey, so for the Free Agents of the season, now that it's been past July 9th, should we remove free agents from the team roster?

Luis Montero
The note explained the situation. He has a non-guaranteed deal that doesn't assure a roster spot (see here) and unlike with Willie Reed and the Nets the Blazers do not show him on their roster at this time (see here). I think that until it is clear he is considered on their actual roster this should not be updated. I doubt he actually makes the squad. Rikster2 (talk) 10:03, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Rikster2: Why does that matter? A non-guaranteed deal means he will be there for training camp, like any other training camp signing. His signing has just come early unlike most who are signed in late September. When have we based adding teams etc to infobox based on guaranteed/non-guaranteed? Have we not always added this in the past for training camp signings? Why so suddenly different for this signing? If he is placed on the official roster, will you be fine with it being added, like you did with Aminu (Aminu btw was later removed from the roster until he was officially signed). I'm confused as to why because it "non-guaranteed", we don't add it? Sure, of course he wont make the final roster, like all players like him, he will end up in the d-league probably. This seems off to me. People are going to keep adding it with him having been "officially announced" and all. DaHuzyBru (talk) 10:41, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
- We haven't previously posted current team for people who there is no evidence there is a commitment to give them a roster spot. Putting him on the roster would be sign of a commitment given that we know his deal isn't guaranteed. But whatever, I'll remove it when he gets cut in training camp. BTW, you should have removed the team for Aminu if he was removed. He was on before, when coupled with news reports he's signed it seemed reasonable to add him at the time Rikster2 (talk) 21:37, 12 July 2015 (UTC)

Wtf
Why the hell would you change what I edited on Stephen Curry's personal information? I did was add the correct, specific times of his children this is so unfair I had everything cited! Boobaby122 (talk) 17:32, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Boobaby122: First off, what citations did you add? Your additions added no extra references to what was already there. Second, it is not necessary to state the exact birth dates of his children. One, it's a privacy issue, and two, it is in no way important for anyone to know that. DaHuzyBru (talk) 17:57, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
- The specific applicable policy is WP:DOB. Curry is notable, but his kids are really not (sorry Riley). Sure the info is on the web, but no reason Wikipedia needs to make it available for minors with negligible notability.—Bagumba (talk) 18:13, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
You don't make any sense and you're very hypocritical! "Second, it is not necessary to state the exact birth dates of his children. One, it's a privacy issue, and two, it is in no way important for anyone to know that." OK, so why is Kobe Bryant's children's birth dates stated in his bio? why are other celebrities children's birth date stated? why are other children notable?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Boobaby122 (talk • contribs) 15:48, 14 July 2015 (UTC)

- @ChristWarrior50: I would say no. Going to jail is no retirement. He hasn't played in years, and I do not think he ever officially announced his retirement. So I don't think his retirement needs to go anywhere. DaHuzyBru (talk) 19:19, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

- Yes, again, going to jail is not "retiring". He stopped playing in 2011. If you find a source that states he retired then add to a respective list. Definitely should not go in 2015–16. DaHuzyBru (talk) 19:24, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
Marjanovic and Jokic
Hey mate what should we do with Boban Marjanovic and Nikola Jokic? Transfers was confirmed by manager Misko Raznatovic on twitter and when he confirms something that is 100% correct. But still there is nothing on club websites. What to do?--Bozalegenda (talk) 13:54, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Bozalegenda: It's a similar situation to Marcus Thornton (basketball, born 1987), his agent also said he had signed with Rockets, but nothing from Rockets. I think we wait, official announcements will come, they are pretty notable signings and will get press releases. This happens every year, no different this year :) Cheers. DaHuzyBru (talk) 14:05, 14 July 2015 (UTC)

Geron Johnson AfD
Addressing your comment offline, I hope you didn't misinterpret that I was singling you out. I was commenting on the article in general, and hadn't even looked at the history to see who contributed what. At any rate, if you were expanding in response to the AfD, indy sources are always helpful, unless the goal is Wikipedia:Masking the lack of notability :-) Cheers.—Bagumba (talk) 19:25, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah no doubt, and I totally endorse that. I always do when creating articles, but personally, I would never have started a Geron Johnson article at this point in his career so I didn't put much effort into expanding it i.e. just used the college bio. Just felt like explaining my contribution further when I saw your comment. Thanks for the message. Cheers. DaHuzyBru (talk) 19:33, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Is this enough?
Fox Sports and Sports Illustrated are both have both reported that Wilbekin has signed a partially guaranteed contract with the 76ers. Is that not enough, or are you still waiting on some sort of formal announcement from the team?
- FoxSports.com 7-21-2015
- Sports Illustrated 7-18-2015
Please advise, because I grow weary of the edit-warring over a watch-listed article. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 22:59, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Dirtlawyer1: Until the 76ers announce his signing, which may not be until training camp signings are announced, then we shouldn't add it to his article. Wilbekin's reported signing is no different to any other reported signing prior to becoming official. DaHuzyBru (talk) 04:47, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

NBPA Awards
Why can't we include Harden's NBPA MVP award in his highlights section? Heck, why can't we include the awards for the other players that won awards? Also, shouldn't there be a wiki page for the NBPA awards?

Sourcing
Hey, so if a player on their social media account says they're signing with a team, is that official enough to change the player's team?
UVABallers (talk) 17:46, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
- @UVABallers: No. That has never been the case. Official press releases are what we go by. DaHuzyBru (talk) 18:04, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
Like Andre Miller currently, player or agent announcements are kind of a gray area, which is touched upon in WP:SPORTSTRANS. I just leave it alone in these cases to save myself the headache, but others can choose to wait for the official announcement. As long as there is consensus either way, but it's not as obvious as when it's a pure anonymous sources.—Bagumba (talk) 07:34, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
- It will be announced though, and most likely soon. No need to jump the gun. RealGM for example have not listed the signing and they are usually ones to list signings before official announcements. I think just wait. DaHuzyBru (talk) 08:04, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
- Is "agree to terms" another way of saying he "has not signed"?[3]—Bagumba (talk) 08:10, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
- And Fox aint much better with this on Clark.[4]. Maybe we need to start a list of unreliable sources.—Bagumba (talk) 08:10, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
- Well "agree to terms" is the same as "to sign", and both are used during the moratorium period. Agreeing to terms always comes before official signings, and most get confused over that or don't care to fully understand what it means when reports come out about potential signings. With that Fox ref, the whole story is from SI.com, which I would say is on the same level as Bleacher Report and SB Nation – not reliable. DaHuzyBru (talk) 09:19, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

Phoenix Suns Roster
Hello,
I'm not sure why the Phoenix Sun's roster isn't showing up. I'm pretty sure I added the right text, but it's not loading the template.
UVABallers (talk) 03:02, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
- @UVABallers: What exactly were you trying to do with that? What you did made no logical sense. You were trying to add the Phoenix Suns roster template, to the Phoenix Suns roster template... You explained on your talk that you "don't believe that is the real one". What other one are you talking about? That is the one and only Phoenix Suns roster template on Wikipedia. If you think the content in the roster is incorrect, edit and change it. Adding {{Phoenix Suns roster}} to other articles, generates the roster without having to edit multiple rosters. Editing {{Phoenix Suns roster}}, changes all copies of it. I'm confused as to what your intention were. DaHuzyBru (talk) 06:23, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
I apologize for making a mistake. I thought it wasn't the right format, but that clearly was. My bad. UVABallers (talk) 17:23, 1 August 2015 (UTC)

stop changing my edits on Sam Dekker's page — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.36.18.158 (talk) 19:14, 5 August 2015 (UTC) He signed with the Rockets in late July.
- I can read all about rumors too. The Rockets have not announced this signing, it is not official. Please stop adding unofficial signings to player bios. DaHuzyBru (talk) 19:19, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
the Rockets did too say it was official — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.36.18.158 (talk) 19:22, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- Where's the source for this??? Provide a reference for your additions. Provide where the Rockets announced it, press release, twitter? Anything. DaHuzyBru (talk) 19:24, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
hoopsrumors.com said it was an official signing. same with Sam Dalembert and Charlie Villanueva. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.36.18.158 (talk) 19:43, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- That's not official, clear and easy. Official announcement from the team or a press release (even per twitter) are what we need. Kante4 (talk) 19:47, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- HR cite Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports regarding Dalembert. Nothing says official there. And Villanueva's "official signing" is via his twitter which is not an official or reliable reference. Just wait until the Mavs announce the signings on their website. Be patient. DaHuzyBru (talk) 19:49, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
According to mavs.com, Villanueva is official. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.36.18.158 (talk) 20:42, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- No, it's not. No announcement of him re-signing to a new deal. The rosters aren't updated as quickly as they should... Kante4 (talk) 20:44, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
he's on the roster on my computer though — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.36.18.158 (talk) 20:45, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- Correct, but the roster pages are updated slowly and when all is over. That still does not mean he has signed as there was no announcement. Those will come sooner than later. Kante4 (talk) 21:00, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
CV
Hey, after the Jordan fiasco nothing is sure anymore. ;-) But in this case it's ok for me as he himself wrote that in his official blog and twitter Account. So you can go ahead and make the changes and link to his blog entry. We can change the source later on. Kante4 (talk) 16:43, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Kante4: Mm, yeah no doubt about the Jordan ordeal. It just seems like strong evidence since Villanueva has a pretty reliable social network such as twitter and his website. If a mavs press release is issued, perhaps we can update accordingly then to what ever date that is released (if at all). DaHuzyBru (talk) 16:48, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
Edit explanation
I imagine you're following my edits and see that that you're editing more or less each one That's your right and I'm not going to claim they're perfect but I don't really understand the point of some edits such as:
- -The spacing, it changes zilch to the what the article shows and I find it more convenient to read and therefore edit it, if you want to go through all my edits and change it feel free, I don't see a reason for changing that myself so I'll keep using that spacing.
- -Sources: do they have to linked? No. Does it help to link them, keeping in the mind the web adress is still displayed the same way? For me, yes, especially to identify a reliable source (which sportando, the source of like 75% of Euro-based player articles, is not).
- -On Semaj Christon, the problem was that in changing the format for the D-League All-Rookie team, a helpful edit, you changed it from Third to First. The external links section preconises to put the sources as references if that's possible, I do so with college bios for pros, they're not going to be updated so only serve to illustrate their former career (unlike general sources like Sports Reference, RealGM or the player's current team/league profile).
That's about it, no use rambling on more, I'd like to point at that I believe we have the same goal, creating player pages that are well organised, well sourced and well written, small differences in style shouldn't be able to change that. --ArmstrongJulian (talk) 18:49, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
- @ArmstrongJulian: Ay look, I guess my style of editing is different from yours, and that's fine. I am very adaptable and I will be mindful in the future when coming across your contributions. Your college additions etc are very good and I'm definitely not against you. We are, like you say, striving for the same goal. In regards to the third → first mistake I made: yes, I am ware I messed up there. But again, college is typically styled as "third-team ..." while d-league is styled "... Third Team". All good though, not overly fussed. I like to keep good rapport with my fellow editors. Happy editing! DaHuzyBru (talk) 19:12, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
Appreciate the answer, I didn't want to create an argument but had a problem in the past with another editor who was of the "my way or the high way" school of thought and never explained his edits, I can understand that's not the case with you. I'm definitely not an expert on the college game, coming from Europe it's quite strange to me even hough I understand most of it from habit by now. If you see I made a mistake (certainly happens) definitely correct me. --ArmstrongJulian (talk) 21:56, 7 August 2015 (UTC)

Tai Wesley
Hi. Admittedly his Samoan connection is tenuous - I got the idea from the bio of his brother, Maikeli Wesley; the infobox says that he has Fijian/Samoan nationality. But now that I think of it, that may not mean ancestry - he may have it by naturalization. Need to check. David Cannon (talk) 12:11, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
I see you just reverted my edit, which I mistakenly put on your user page instead of your talk page. I apologise for doing so. I was asleep at the wheel at 1am and it was an honest mistake. David Cannon (talk) 14:06, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
- Edit conflict – yeah no worries. Look, Wesley's situation is tricky. He is American with Fijian and Guamian connections; people get confused over his allegiances. His father is Fijian, not Samoan, but maybe past ancestry has Samoan connections (the Pacific Islanders have many ancestral similarities and cross overs). In terms of adding cats, unless they are immediate generational, I don't they need to be added. For example, Matthew Dellavedova is considered sixth generation Italian, and myself and another user argued the respective cat addition was unnecessary [5]. I personally feel the same here with Wesley's possible Samoan connection. DaHuzyBru (talk) 14:13, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
USBasket.com access?
Do you have access to the detailed career stats for players on USBasket.com? If so, could you please make sure the infobox on the Anthony Anderson article is correct? Some sources say that this player has played in Poland, Iran, and Venezuela, but I cannot find any details on the Internet. TempleM (talk) 15:56, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
- @TempleM: I do have access yes, but you can also find his Polish stats at FIBA.com. He did not, however, play for Trotamundos de Carabobo of Venezuela despite there being some deal his supposedly signed on Feb 1 2010. Looks like they only tested him and he later returned to Manchester for a February 20 game. Hope this helps. DaHuzyBru (talk) 17:16, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
- @DaHuzyBru: Ok, thank you for replying. If USBasket has Anderson's seasonal statistics in Qatar and with Manchester/Saint John while they were in the ABA and PBL, could you add them to the article as well? TempleM (talk) 19:06, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
- Unfortunately Qatar basketball does not have the best coverage on Eurobasket. While games are recorded, box scores are not so there are no available stats for him. There are stats for his early Manchester days, I might add them later. DaHuzyBru (talk) 23:50, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

Multiple college in infobox
Saw your change to add <br> to Hawkins. Per WP:LISTGAPS, it should use bullets (even if 99.9% don't yet). The college field for basketball infobox handles it (not all others do). Thanks.—Bagumba (talk) 00:32, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

Raptors 905
Regarding the Raptors 905 roster, I'm confused, do we add the team info boxes now? If it's just rights, why would it be in the roster?
VCBallers (talk) 03:13, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
- @VCBallers: No. It was a mini draft so that the new team can have some players in the bank for the future, much like the Delaware 87ers did in 2013. They hold these players' rights, but they do not have a playing roster yet. Most of the players they selected already have a team for 2015–16. Their official roster wont be announced until early November. The user who added these players to the roster has jumped the gun, but I have left them in the roster because the user has so far created four or five roster templates that I have redirected to the most recent one. Just leave those players as is, and when Raptors 905 release their training camp roster in November, we can update it then. DaHuzyBru (talk) 03:17, 25 August 2015 (UTC)

Manix Auriantal nationality
I recently created an article for Manix Auriantal, who was born and brought up in Canada and holds Canadian nationality according to his FIBA profile. However, he has previously represented Rwanda at international events (specifically the AfroBasket in 2007). Would this make him Rwandan-Canadian? Or is he solely Canadian? TempleM (talk) 17:25, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
- @TempleM: It appears to be a case like Melvin Ejim, born in Canada but has represented Nigeria, the country of his parents. The thing is though, Ejim considers himself "just as much Nigerian" as Canadian [6]. Does Auriantal consider himself Rwandan? Can you find anything on that? I would list both since he has played for the national team, but others may protest it. DaHuzyBru (talk) 17:35, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
- @DaHuzyBru: I cannot find any source that blatantly says that Auriantal considers himself Rwandan. However, this article says that he "naturalized for a short period" and that Rwanda has been looking for domestic talent since 2007. TempleM (talk) 18:01, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
Satnam Singh
Hey man,
I have a question? Can we move Satnam to the Texans Legends now, the mavericks confirmed he would be playing with the legends and not take up a roster spot? What do you think?
VCBallers (talk) 02:37, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
- @VCBallers: No, not yet. These reports come out every year around this time, stating that they will definitely not be joining the NBA team and instead will play in the D-League. If you see my explanation at Sir'Dominic Pointer [7], it's that same case. D-League rosters are put together in November, so Singh won't be a member of the Legends until then. DaHuzyBru (talk) 06:52, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Right, although, in a press conference after he was drafted with the mavericks, the mavericks confirmed it, I'll try to find the video. VCBallers (talk) 15:34, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
- I'm not doubting you and I'm not doubting he will join the Legends, but his player rights will not be allocated to the Legends until late October, early November. So like previous years, lets wait until then. Cheers. DaHuzyBru (talk) 15:40, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Ok, but can we take him off the Mavericks roster? VCBallers (talk) 19:20, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

J. P. Tokoto
Hey DaHuzyBru,
Thanks for reaching out, I thought it was official when I came across this article http://www.si.com/nba/2015/09/07/philadelphia-76ers-sign-jp-tokoto , perhaps that is only speculation and hasn't been announced by the team yet? I am new to Wiki editing so any feedback would be much appreciated.
Take care, talk soon.

- @Kperezjr: Only once the team announces the signing is it official i.e. on their website. In that SI link above, the title has "Report" and the article lists anonymous sources. We tend to stay clear of website likes SI due to this reason, their reports can be misleading. Thanks for discussing this, and if there's anything else I can assist with, don't hesitate to ask. If I find a page that I want to update with pictures (update the main picture and add some thumbnails) as well as update/re-write the way a page is written (with some new info and sources in each section) basically a page that has not been updated in a while. Do you have any tips / recommendations / advice for this Kperezjr (talk) 18:53, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
- @Kperezjr: First off, you need to be aware of Wikipedia's policies for uploading images – they need to be free and can't be copyrighted. In terms of updating or re-writing an article, read through the links on your talk page. Or in any case, just go for it – be bold! There's no requirement to get approval or permission from other users to do so. I would recommend though, always use the preview button when editing to avoid multiple tiny, consecutive edits to the same article. Hope this helps, and happy editing! Hassan Whiteside
Hello! About that picture and this summary of yours. (That summary is why I'm posting here.) That picture has been deleted before. Why hasn't it been deleted yet? I know next to nothing about this stuff but I'm sure that's what they call a "blatant copyright violation". I believe that while a picture is here it should be used. If a picture has issues, then it'll get deleted. I think leaving pictures in articles in the meantime, before it gets deleted, is all good. However, from what I've been told about this sort of stuff, a picture like that needs to be removed on the spot. Look at that watermark in the bottom right corner. —DangerousJXD (talk) 22:00, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
- @DangerousJXD: No doubt, but there's no strike or copyright warning at commons. So , like you, I don't really know much about the process of how the system detects copyrighted pictures etc. If I understood commons better, I'd probably go to someone to have it looked at, but I'm not going to bother myself with that. I'm just gonna remove it as the user who uploaded lists that it's his own work, when in fact it's Al Diaz's picture from Miami Herald. DaHuzyBru (talk) 03:10, 10 September 2015 (UTC)

Eurobasket access
Hey - do you have Eurobasket access? If so, could you finish off Elton Nesbitt's club history? Looks like he played one more season after the last one listed, but I can't be sure. It used to be that you could see at least the last several teams without an account, but now it is just that last team. Thanks for any help you can give. Rikster2 (talk) 19:36, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
- @Rikster2: He signed with Belgian side Optima Gent on 5 January 2011 to replace an injured player for two months (LeSoir.be) but he was kept away after his mother had an accident (it seems he was in the U.S. then) and was also a paperwork doubt (Nieuwsblad.be). He was released on 13 January, surely never playing, maybe not even going to Gent (Nieuwsblad.be) after the coach said he wanted to play Belgian players (Nieuwsblad). He may have played for someone before or after that but no club was mentioned when he signed. --ArmstrongJulian (talk) 21:03, 14 September 2015 (UTC)

- Thanks for joining. I just expanded the Burton article a bit, and I just wrote to the West Virginia staff to see if I can get a photo.--S Philbrick(Talk) 14:56, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
- @Sphilbrick: Nice work with the expanding, hopefully you can get a response from West Virginia. Thanks for the invite too, not a huge women's basketball follower, but I will be following the WNBL a fair bit this season with Perth's new team. Cheers. DaHuzyBru (talk) 15:42, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
Feels like there shouldn't be any players on this yet as the team hasn't signed one player. Several players (like Mitchell Watt) are signed with other clubs and almost certainly won't join this team. Thoughts? Rikster2 (talk) 11:32, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
- @Rikster2: Look, no doubt, but the user who created the template already created about five Raptors 905 templates before the most recent one just to add these players. I left those players in the roster so they wouldn't create another one later down the track – I've redirected too many failed attempts by this user already. If you want to remove the players or redirect that be fine by me, but I thought just make it easier and leave it and update with the training camp roster in November. Will Cummings
Hi. Do you have any better source that Will Cummings was signed by the Rockets than Twitter? ~EDDY (talk/contribs)~ 12:18, 22 September 2015 (UTC)
- @Editorofthewiki: The Rockets are notorious for not publishing press releases on their website. This signing has been reported for months now, but only yesterday did the Rockets officially announce his signing via Twitter. What's more direct than that? RealGM also list his signing, but on September 3. RealGM often have random signing dates listed, who knows where they get their sources from. DaHuzyBru (talk) 12:38, 22 September 2015 (UTC)
- I'm not entirely sure if RealGM is 100% reliable, but I would trust their date over the Twitter post. ~EDDY (talk/contribs)~ 12:41, 22 September 2015 (UTC)
- But it's the Rockets official Twitter account, they state the four signings are "Official" in their tweet. If you are going to discredit the Twitter post, go for the reported late June signing by the media [8] [9], which includes his college, rather than RealGM. DaHuzyBru (talk) 12:47, 22 September 2015 (UTC)
- I suppose an official press release is pending, so I'll let it lie for a few days. Just because the Twitter said he was signed doesn't mean he was signed that day. I believe the June date was when he was signed to a summer league roster but I'm not positive. ~EDDY (talk/contribs)~ 12:59, 22 September 2015 (UTC)
- Well to be fair, when teams announce signings via press releases, it's highly unlikely they physically sign contracts on those days. Official press releases are released once the signing has gone through the NBA office and has been approved. We run with whenever teams announce signings to be consistent and avoid anonymous, unreliable reports. I'd say this Twitter post by the Rockets is actually more authentic, as they perhaps have jumped the gun themselves. Maybe in the coming days a statement will be made; we can then change accordingly, but for now, I think it's adequate to let this slide. DaHuzyBru (talk) 13:05, 22 September 2015 (UTC)

John Wall Player Profile
Why did you trim the John Wall player profile. All the information was valid and was necessary in the analysis of John Wall and was all backed up with statistics. John Wall's abilities and shooting percentage in different areas of the court are relevant when discussing his capabilities and tendencies as part of the player profile. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Funofagun (talk • contribs) 21:10, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
Little help?
Hello - I have been working for months to convert all of the articles on Template:Infobox WNBA biography to basketball biography so the templates can be merged. I've been working on it, pretty much alone, for months and have converted hundreds. Now I am down to the last 50 or so and was wondering if I could ask for some help? There are a few Australian players who need to be converted – interested? Some that need to be converted are:
Plus, any others you'd like to take on would be appreciated. Thanks Rikster2 (talk) 00:11, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Rikster2: I can do that for sure. I'll get on to it ASAP. DaHuzyBru (talk) 06:23, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
Remove deprecated persondata after transfer to Wikidata profile
Hey, DaHuzyBru, I saw where you deleted the Persondata template from the Bradley Beal article: [10]. Yes, Persondata has been deprecated and is no longer supported, but many Persondata templates still contain accurate and usable information about the subject that has not been transferred to the Wikidata profiles for the related Wikipedia articles. In this case, Beal's Persondata included his full birth name, "Bradley Emmanuel Beal," which had not been transferred to his Wikidata profile: [11]. I would encourage you to review and compare the related Wikidata profiles for our basketball biographies to make sure that basic Persondata information like alternative names, birth place, date of birth, place of death and date of death have been transferred to Wikidata before removing the Persondata template from the articles. If you are unfamiliar with Wikidata, please feel free to ping me with any and all questions; I'm on a bit of a crusade to make sure we do not waste this opportunity to ensure the full transfer of all remaining accurate Persondata to Wikidata before the Persondata templates are deleted by bot action. Thanks for listening. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 07:29, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Dirtlawyer1: Not gonna lie, while I know of the transfer to wikidata, I just thought they were all being sporadically removed. I haven't been on a rampage to remove them by any means, just whenever I come across them. Cheers for the heads up, I'll be more wary. DaHuzyBru (talk) 07:37, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
- No need to apologize, chief -- the last of them are all going to get deleted at some point, regardless of whether all data has been transferred. But some of the sports projects were really good about filling out the Persondata templates with birth names, nicknames, maiden names, married names, adult name changes, etc., and a lot of that data (and the effort to compile it) is just going to be wasted. Kinda of defeats the purpose of creating a better metadata system (Wikidata) if we're not going to make an effort to transfer all of the good information from the existing metadata system (Persondata), but I suppose it's not the dumbest move I've seen by our collective management in my 6 years on-wiki . . . . Let me know if you're interested in learning the Wikidata basics for future reference, it's really not that hard. You might want to click on the "Wikidata item" link under the lefthand "Tools" menu on the Bradley Beal article for a quick look. Cheers. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 08:57, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
Hi, I like your work on the basketball articles! I'm trying to improve the articles on the Japanese leagues and teams. Slowly but surely, I'll hopefully get it done by the time the new league kicks off next year. The reason for me writing to you though is this diff. I assume deleting the Fukuoka team was an accident, because they are in the league and started 1-1 last weekend. I've added it back in, but thought I'd just drop you a line to confirm though. Regards, AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 00:46, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Athomeinkobe: Yeah, dunno why I removed them?? Must have got confused, I saw that the Western Conference was missing teams, went ahead and added two, but yeah shouldn't have removed Fukuoka. Cheers for the re-add. I see Japanese basketball on English Wikipedia is pretty outdated, and general/frequent updates have not been made in many years i.e. Akita's roster had not been updated in two-three seasons, which is poor. I'll try and put more effort into the bj league if I can. Cheers. DaHuzyBru (talk) 04:40, 8 October 2015 (UTC)

Transaction dates in bios
You do a lot of the edits to add signings and cuts to bios. Do you feel the exact dates are needed, like in Corey Hawkins (basketball)? IMO, it makes for clunky reading for journeyman players. I can see that recent transactions can have the exact dates, but years from now, are the specific dates really that important anymore? Seems like relative times, like whether it was before, during , or after preseason or regular season, is more relevant. Maybe the month in some cases. I vaguely remember you removing some specific dates before, like when D-Leaguers constantly get assigning and recalled. Interested in your thoughts. Thanks.—Bagumba (talk) 03:52, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Bagumba: Overall, I like the current formatting. Exact dates, while not extremely important in five years, matter as a record for down the track and do serve a purpose IMO. And tbh, these lists only really matter for the season duration anyway. I sure as hell don't go back and look at 2012–13, they are "at the time" lists and don't get traffic in later years as you can see here, in comparisons to 2015–16. In terms of the D-League, well 1. general NBA fans don't have an interest in the D-League and/or don't care to know about it, and 2. there are just too many D-League assignments each season (each season with more and more) and I'm not prepared to bother with that, hence why I removed it back in 2012–13, and hence why that 2012–13 list is still incomplete. Maybe a D-League list would have worked back when NBA teams didn't rely on it as much for player development, but now, teams send players back and forth daily – just too much to keep up with. Another transactional list the pages are missing is a contract extensions / exercised rookie scale contracts section, which again I'm not prepared to do. Being the main updater of these lists, I'm sure I'd be involved in a reform of the formatting, and I'm open to change. However, I think it works well now. - Sorry if I wasn't clear, my question is regarding prose in bios, not the "List of 2015–16 NBA ..."—Bagumba (talk) 08:37, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
- Eh, my bad, saw "add signings and cuts" and not "bios" – thought it was a follow up. Regarding bio prose, I am one to do that and I think my style has carried over to other editors. However, I have changed the way I create articles now. I used to add just signing dates and no other info, not even stats. I still search for signing dates but I add a lot more season detail and stats, see Ebi Ere. The early years section for Ere is a good example of where it was so long ago that I couldn't find when he exactly signed with Sydney, but overall it is now structured in a more traditional article way, and reads better. But then in the mid-2000s when signing dates are easy to find, then I have added them while also providing season stats. For the NBA anyway, what ever day someone is signed, that's the day it is going to be updated, so it makes sense to put the exact date. In terms of Corey Hawkins, that's a generic problem that effects all smaller American basketball player articles where they have played summer league, joined training camp, released, and then joined D-League (for example). There's just not much other info to add at this point. I doubt there's any specific in-depth article on Hawkins' time with the Heat that would be useful in order to expand at this point. For D-League assignees, Zagalejo first initiated that overkill date removal, and I now implement that after the third assignment. Without dates though, some player articles would have nothing. DaHuzyBru (talk) 09:23, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
- OK. It's probably only an issue on star players' articles, where it's kinda tiring if too many game's dates are mentioned. And those can be dealt as needed. Thanks.—Bagumba (talk) 05:40, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
