Closed Churches Listings?[edit]

Should churches which are closed be listed? After significant thought I've decided that pages for a closed church should be constructed with as much detail as possible. I suggest that the "family tree" at the bottom of the page will only show open churches however.

Speedy deletion of "CFM Churches"[edit]

A page you created, CFM Churches, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is very short and provides little or no context.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. SoSaysChappy (talk) 12:08, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect[edit]

I have redirected CFM Churches to Potter's House Christian Fellowship, as this article already discusses the Christian Fellowship Ministries in America. Please feel free to add content to the existing article. However, given your user name, I suspect that a conflict of interest exists. You should take care to maintain a neutral tone in any edits you make to the article. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 12:20, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No Problem[edit]

I'm new to all this so no problem. CFM is the organisation which various churches named The Potters House, The Door, etc sit. I'll come back to this latter with quality content.

June 2009[edit]

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Because Wikipedia does not allow any form of spam or other promotion of people, products, companies or other groups (even non-commercial or charitable ones). Wikipedia's use for such purposes will result in the blocking of the account involved. Please read Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for our rules about this.

In addition, user accounts are for individuals only, not for companies or groups or other collective editing. Your username should reflect this. Usernames that appear to be promotional (such as those that make reference to a company or product) violate our username policy and are grounds for blocking.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than yourself, your group, company or product, you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make contributions about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this message box.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Tell us what new username you want to use. Please make sure that your new username does not violate our username policy and check that it has not already been taken here.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If instead you believe that you have been blocked by mistake (i.e., you have not in fact been using Wikipedia for promotional purposes), please write {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this message box and replace the text "Your reason here" with the reason why. See also Wikipedia:Appealing a block for more information. \ Backslash Forwardslash / {talk} 01:31, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Please allow me some grace! I'm trying my best to add useful content on a variety of topics including my specialty CFM churches. It was my understanding that user pages were a good place to start. At least let me have access to the hours of content I have created so far. Please!

Decline reason:

You were blocked because of your username, not just your pattern of edits. If you would like to continue editing, you can follow the instructions above for changing your username. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 04:53, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Hello, you appear to have been promoting an entity connected to yourself. Furthermore your username is unacceptable because it appears to be promotional. Please also note that the pages you made may not meet our criteria for inclusion, specifically wp:notability. Please also see WP:NOTWEBHOST, WP:SPAM and WP:COI. I accept your arguments but my username was chosen for convenience not promotion. Can I please have access to my raw content somehow for a brief time or something as I will move it elsewhere. My mistakes were honest not malicious. Thanks Wes

Request reason:

New username would be Cloudmaker and I would like to continue editing my pages. I understand that there seemed to be a conflict of interest in the pages I had created. I wish to contribute generally to Wikipedia and useful pages found there. I wish to solely create my content under User pages first. Thanks Wes

User is not interested in contributing collaboratively to the encyclopedia. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 05:39, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but I don't think this is an acceptable reason for unblocking. You've acknowledged your conflict of interest, but you offer no evidence that you're trying to learn Wikipedia's guidelines (hint: you can start at WP:Five pillars and WP:What Wikipedia is not) and no explanation of how you intend to edit without causing conflict of interest problems. Furthermore, you've specifically said you wish to only edit user pages, which suggests to me that you are not interested in building the actual encyclopedia but only interested in using Wikipedia as a free webhost (which is not allowed; see WP:NOT#WEBHOST).
I will leave the unblock message up for another administrator to review it, but as for me I see no reason to unblock you. Sorry, rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 05:24, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is very frustrating!!! I want to make pages for general reading but seek to not use group editing in user pages, that's all! I am not looking for a free web host. I have paid hosting which is quite good. I write without bias and objectively for the interest of many people. I am a raw novice however. I have lost hours of hard work without warning. Please help!!!

Could I please have my hard work emailed to me then? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Deletion_review#Temporary_review

The deleted pages I would like are: Template:Churches, User:CFM-Churches, User:CFM-Churches/Parramatta

Thanks for some help! Wes

"I want to make pages for general reading but seek to not use group editing in user pages" is inappropriate, and I will decline your unblock request. Wikipedia is a collaborative project, and trying to circumvent the normal editing process by hiding your contributions in a userpage is unacceptable. See the notice below the edit window: "If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly... do not submit it."
I will e-mail you the pages, but do not repost them on Wikipedia. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 05:39, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unfair deletion[edit]

Please allow me to have some grace period with my pages. Deletion without warning seems very unfair: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:User_page#Deleting_user_pages_and_subpages

I know you are new to this job (23 days in) so maybe another's motto might help:

"Any time. I should remember the motto "Improve, don't delete!" WikiDan61 19:49, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your help.

Wes

Hi, I've responded to your email. Apologies for the late response, I have been out. \ Backslash Forwardslash / {talk} 08:44, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have deleted this template because it is unused and appears to be a test page. If you would like to experiment, you can use Template:X1 and similar sandbox templates. Thanks, rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 04:53, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
