New article
1. per hthe AE, i dont what the hell plot spoiler's got up to now. He isnt event involved i nthe article and doesnt now what its been locked for (the same reason). Same old wiki with its idiotic western00 biases and, worse , not willing to chang e its local council politics of opposing editorsinstead of content 2. that said, since List of Palestinian rocket attacks on Israel, 2012 exists why now List of Israeli bombing raids on the Gaza Strip, 2012?
- Greetings Lihaas. Honestly, I'm not a supporter of having such articles, but I might be in the minority. It's just a catalog of rocket strikes against Israel of which there have been hundreds. If an editor wants to catalog the number of Israeli strikes against the Gaza Strip by year or the military incursions into the territory, then they should feel free to do so. That editor is not me though, too tedious of a task... Salam. --Al Ameer son (talk) 19:52, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
"pomegranate"
If you have time, could you take a look at the places which are called after "pomegranate":
We also have the very messy Rimmon.
These villages/towns have tended to be mixed up. I think we need to have a proper dab, like for Taybeh (disambiguation), and with a link to the dab-page from each article. I have tried to expand the the different geo-article, though I haven´t done anything to Kafr Rumman (It is mentioned in Dauphin, Guerin,+ 1596-census --> could be a DYK, eventually? )
But first of all we need a proper dab. As I don´t speak/read Arabic (or Hebrew), I need some help to figure out what should be the propers name? Cheers, Huldra (talk) 12:03, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
- Hey Huldra. I think a proper name for the page would be "Rumman" (Rummaneh, Rummanah are the feminine nouns). You can add to these Abu Rummaneh and Umm al-Rumman in Syria, and Ras Rumman in Bahrain. You have a proper dab page about my favorite fruit in the whole wide world! :) Yazan (talk) 12:45, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
- Definitely my favourite fruit-drink ;) Ok, I´ll start a Rumman (disambiguation), add all the names above, and a see also Rimmon at the bottom? The Rimmon article is a complete mess; seems like they have started with something from the Bible, and it then had a rather cancerous growth. Ugh. Huldra (talk) 12:56, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
Oooopsh: Taibeh and Taybeh (disambiguation). Isn´t it the same word? Huldra (talk) 00:03, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, we should merge the pages. --Al Ameer son (talk) 00:05, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
- Ok, I just copied Taibeh into Taybeh (disambiguation). Does it look ok? Huldra (talk) 00:10, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
- Looks fine. I think there's more Taybehs out there though. Very common place name apparently. --Al Ameer son (talk) 19:14, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, definitely. There is one southern Labanon, among others, still no article. Cheers, Huldra (talk) 19:43, 21 November 2012 (UTC) PS: If you want to help with Kafr Rumman (newer statistics, etc), we could make it a DYK. One day....
- I'll gather what I can, we could start expansion for DYK tomorrow or the day after ;) --Al Ameer son (talk) 04:36, 22 November 2012 (UTC)

Nice creation, but could you source the first paragraph? Also you could then add it to DYK(Lihaas (talk) 07:03, 12 December 2012 (UTC)).

re: QPQ
Any time ustaz Ameer ;).
- On a side note, could you please move Ţayrū to Tayru over redirect (for obvious reasons). Many thanks! Yazan (talk) 18:27, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
- Ameer, I was thinking (since we're beginning to have to dab between Governorates now) shouldn't we use the format "XXX, YYY Governorate"/"XXX, ZZZ Governorate", instead of simply "XXX, YYY"/"XXX, ZZZ". Seems more organized. What do you think? Yazan (talk) 16:10, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
- If you mean Bureij, Hama Governorate instead of Bureij, Hama then I don't have strong feelings either way. The reason the "governorate" part was left out before was probably to avoid having a lengthy title. On another note do you think we should start categorizing localities as "Category:Towns in Syria" for Nahiyah centers or "Category:Villages in Syria" for other localities? We might to have make an exception for localities with large populations and include those with the Towns category. There are already categories for cities and Pal. refugee camps The reason I propose this is because I feel like currently, locality articles typically have just one category and could be classified further. --Al Ameer son (talk) 20:00, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
- Well, I was working on Al-Qahtaniyah, Al-Raqqah and Al-Qahtaniyah, Al-Hasakah, and it occured to me that someone who doesn't know that Al-Raqqah, or Al-Hasakah, are meant as provinces might not understand the name. If you don't have a problem with it, I'll start implementing it. I think in a few places we might even have to dab between districts.
- As for the extra cats, I think that would be good. If only we have the official designations of these localities, but alas. I'll start adding them. Yazan (talk) 06:59, 27 December 2012 (UTC)
- I've added the Category:Towns in Syria to all relevant articles, and created Category:Villages in Syria to be filled gradually. I also started Baarin, which should be easily expandable for DYK (lots about Zengi and the crusades). Maryamin should be ready for DYK as well; and don't forget your Kafr Zita and Taybat al-Imam. :) Cheers Ameer! Yazan (talk) 16:04, 27 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for being so efficient with the categories. I'll see what I could find on Baarin,
if you have some sources already that would be great.Just nominated Taybat and Kafr Zita (the latter was a few hours late) and you should go ahead and nominate Maryamin. I'm really happy we got to the towns and villages of Hama. Didn't realize they were so diverse. --Al Ameer son (talk) 06:38, 28 December 2012 (UTC) - Never mind, found plenty of sources from a quick search in google books. --Al Ameer son (talk) 06:48, 28 December 2012 (UTC)
- I think I've filled the Villages category with all applicable articles (210 by last count). If one has slipped me, do add it in. Yazan (talk) 10:40, 28 December 2012 (UTC)
- Maskanah should be ready for DYK. Baarin and Nimreh, could also be expanded (see, Namara inscription; though I still can't be sure they are the same town). I feel slightly guilty about ignoring the eastern provinces (Raqqah, Deir al-Zor and Hasakah), but there's simply not enough sources on communities there. We should start with stubs, nevertheless.
- On a related note, I think we've covered at least 25-30% of our targeted localities. Thank you Ameer! It'll be a happy day when all these red links could turn blue. :) Cheers. Yazan (talk) 05:13, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
- Wa shukran illak. I tried to working on some villages of Deir ez-Zor, but like you said there's virtually nothing in the sources, at least not in the English ones. We're certainly making good progress in general though. I plan on going back to Rif Dimashq because there's still a lot of redlinks there but plenty of sources for those villages. I'll begin adding to Baarin shortly and see what I could find for Nimreh. Nice job with Maskanah by the way ;) --Al Ameer son (talk) 05:25, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
- Wow, fantastic work on Baarin! I tried adding some biblios, but couldn't find the rest. Will look int Arabic sources about the town, to see if something come post-Crusades. Yalla, I'm off for the evening. Happy new year, my friend! Cheers! Yazan (talk) 08:29, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
- I'll add the rest of the books shortly. There's still some more information on the medieval village but you could go ahead and nominate it. And happy new year to you too! Salam, --Al Ameer son (talk) 02:21, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

Jamma'in Banu Qudama Origins
Sorry if I edited the page Jamma'in without first discussing it. I found that the link provided is outdated and doesn't contain any reference to Jamma'in Village Profile anymore. From my research, the Banu Qudama are originally from Jamma'in check Ibn Qudama biography in Islam Web, they went to Damascus in 1156 AC after being prosecuted by Hugh of Ibelin named Ibn Barzan by Ibn Tulun and reported by Usama ibn Munqidh [1] and confirmed at the page of Jamma'in Village and at Ibn Qudama Arabic Wikipedia Page and at معجم بلدان فلسطين. Hope you may review the links and lets discuss it Kessale (talk)

Please nominate Gamal Abdel Nasser for Featured Article status
This is such a great article and really deserves to be on the main page. You've done a wonderful job and it seems to me like it's already at FA status, it just needs to go thru the review process. If you nominate I will happily review and support. Please keep up your great work on Egypt topics. Lemurbaby (talk) 05:45, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you, that means a lot. I'd probably nominate it for A-class status (it failed its first nomination) before going to the Featured article review. A proper lead still needs to be written up, the Personal life subsections need copyediting, the 1948 War, Six-Day War and Legacy section need to be expanded and become more comprehensive, and then there's a number of minor issues that need to be taken care of too. I've been distracted with other wiki topics and real life stuff lately, but I'll be sure to restart work on Nasser soon. Thanks again for the kind words and encouragement. Cheers! --Al Ameer son (talk) 07:30, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
