File permission problem with File:Dilip Nath Cricketer.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Dilip Nath Cricketer.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 11:05, 2 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Nirmal Purja, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page English. You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:55, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi Aarogya1234! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Lord Belbury (talk) 19:05, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours to the page Nirmal Purja has an edit summary that appears to be inadequate, inaccurate, or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. If it's inaccurate for the article to describe Purja as "naturalised British", please explain this in an edit summary or on the talk page, don't just remove it as a "syntax correction". Nepal T20 players[edit]

Just a note to say that the two Nepal players that you converted from redirects to articles today (Bibek Yadav and Sagar Dhakal) technically do not meet notability criteria for inclusion in WP. WP Cricket states that a player must have either played a Test, ODI or T20I for an ICC full member, or a T20I for an associate member "in either a T20 World Cup (men or women) or Global Qualifier (men or women)". These players do not meet this and hence could be candidates for deletion. If they play in the global qualifiers next week, then they will meet the criteria. However, as they are close to meeting the criteria (playing for a major associate nation), I don't propose nominating for deletion but would ask that you hold back from creating further players until they meet the notability guidelines. Thanks Bs1jac (talk) 16:33, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You have again created and redirected the Malaysian player articles despite being warned by User:Bs1jac above. Please note that repeated failure to follow these instructions will result in the loss of editing privileges. Human (talk) 06:17, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Human. Yes, please do not create pages (including redirects) for players who do not meet the notability criteria listed above. As well as failing WP:NCRIC, a redirect to the tournament page (i.e., where you already are) adds no value anyway. Bs1jac (talk) 07:15, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier A[edit]

Hi. The table of runs and wickets fails WP:NOTSTATS. Please take a look at previous WCQ articles to see they are not included. If people want the full stats, then they can look at Cricinfo. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 14:18, 19 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

April 2022[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Nirmal Purja. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Lord Belbury (talk) 08:40, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality[edit]

You have made a lot of [unsourced] edits, changing/altering the nationality of people in the leads of multiple articles. Nationality is usually the same as citizenship but where a person holds many/has changed citizenship then the nationality of the country where the person has become notable is listed or both if the person is notable for work in their native country as well. Further see, WP:ETHNICITY and WP:NATIONALITY.

Your edits changing the nationality of cricketers in the Middle East are unfounded, gaining citizenship in the Gulf is notoriously difficult and most work as expatriates which is true for the cricketers as well. Citizenship/nationality changes should only be made when reliable sources exist to that effect. Neither is adding "born" necessary when the subject themselves identify dually and are notable for their work as such or when their citizenship remains unconfirmed.

I will be reverting such changes which are unsourced or contrary to the above. Please make a note of this when editing further. Gotitbro (talk) 12:26, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on SongsNepal, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers into Superstar (VTEN album). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 03:08, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Psycho EP moved to draftspace[edit]

Information icon An article you recently created, Psycho EP, is not suitable as written to remain published. An article needs more information and citations from reliable, independent sources to remain in the mainspace. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline, has suitable content and thus is ready for mainspace, click the Submit the draft for review! button atop the article.
