Hello, I'm WindTempos. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to FiLiA seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. WindTempos (talkcontribs) 11:23, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at FiLiA, you may be blocked from editing. OutsideNormality (talk) 12:07, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, as you did with this edit to FiLiA. Nagol0929 (talk) 12:09, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

The original article was so far from a NPOV that it will be quite obvious to anyone reading it. Please have a read and save the article as an exemplar of how NOT to write a balanced, factual piece. Other Wiki editors independently came to the same conclusions about the original article - see the Talk section where several editors in January 2023 noted the absence of NPOV amongst other fatal errors. For examples, these editors noted that the article failed to show NPOV for 1) failing to state what activities the FiLIA charity actually engaged in, and 2) inaccurately labelling the charity as 'anti-trans' without providing any evidence based on the activities of the charity - a libellous statement to make.
My edits sought to bring the article back to the facts, rather than representing trans activists' viewpoints that any feminist organisation promoting sex-based rights is anti-trans. FiLiA's activities span the whole range of issues affecting women, including domestic violence, forced marriage, lack of girls' education, treatment of women in prisons, sexual harrassment, male violence against women, etc. Part of their work is to support sex-based rights under the UK's Equality Act. WindTempos says the article removed cited content, but these 'cited contents' were all trans activist sources. This is like only reporting from people who think the world is flat without actually engaging with the facts. Blocking a user for returning any article to the facts whilst allowing the complainant (WindTempos) who kept returning the article back to its overtly biased, libellous and inaccurate content (that other editors had raised similar issues with on numerous occasions) to continue their ideological crusade on Wikipedia goes against the idea of creating encyclopedia style articles. 88.202.254.237 (talk) 12:54, 12 October 2023 (UTC

Decline reason:

This request does not speak to how you were disruptive, and in fact, is trying to justify it. Wikipedia does not provide balance where reliable sources do not, see WP:FALSEBALANCE. If you think that an article does not provide a proper balance, your actions were not the proper response. You will need to tell us what the proper response is if you want the block to be removed early. 331dot (talk) 16:56, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
