Ananda Tara Shan was a spiritual teacher who founded The Theosophical Fellowship and Heart Flow Worldwide and personally guided their development. Ananda Tara Shan created through her life's work a body of Teachings which carries the impulse for the New Age - the Age of Maitreya, the Age of the Heart.

Biography[edit]

Ananda Tara Shan, the Reverend Jeanne Dara De Murashkin, was born in Denmark in 1946 as Jeanne Sackren(?). She became involved in the Danish arm of the Theosophical Society. She then went on to form an independent Theosophical group Shan the Rising Light. In 1982 she moved to Australia where she spent the rest of her life as a writer and spiritual teacher, and went on establish the and then went on to establish the Society for Maitreya Theosophy in 1991, The Theosophical Fellowship in 1994 and Heart Flow World Wide in 2001.

Apart from being involved in the publication of two books, 'The Living Word' [1] and 'The 17 Steps to perfection' [2] , she gave regular public lectures and forums with teachings about the coming new age, the age of Maitreya [3]. A key aspect of her work involved regular spiritual services for world peace and the up-liftment of humanity. These involved prayer, invocation and meditation.

She was known as a channel of spiritual teachings from a number of masters including the Lord Maitreya [4].

As the Mother-founder of the Theosophical Fellowship she established the head quarters for the Fellowship and The Church of the Sacred Heart of Maitreya [5], the Mother Church in Daylesford, Victoria, Australia and the Melbourne Center in Bentliegh, Melbourne, Australia [6].

As a result of her work there are a number of international branches of the Fellowship including Denmark[7][8] , Iceland, Norway and New Zealand.

She was involved in number of global tours for earth-healing including India, Middle East and the USA (cite more info if required).

Teaching[edit]

Although based on the same foundation as the intellectual teachings on spirituality from the Theosophical Society, through Blavatsky, and the teachings of Djwal Kuhl, through Alice Bailey, Ananda Tara Shan's work was principally focused on working from the heart, the love aspect, as directed from the Lord Maitreya. That is establishing Right Human Relations[9] through service work from the heart. This was clearly stated in the Theosophical Fellowship logo: "Truth is our Goal, Love is our Way"[10].

Underlying the teaching was the acknowledgement of a unity in the core principles of all religions, and augmenting the unification of these religions towards a new world religion by meditation-service work, along with outward invitations to groups from different faiths to participate in schools and events.

A core point to this teaching, and new thread to previous teachings, was that the Lord Maitreya is in preparation to embody in 500 years to bring that new impulse, a new world religion, and that there is much spiritual preparatory work for humanity to achieve this [11].
