Will hurd bio

I have posted a biography of Will Hurd. The reason it was nominated for speedy deletion states that the article is about the person himself, and not his accomplishements. However, the majority of the article talks about his involvement in the Bonfire at Texans A&M University and his courageous work with counterrorism, etc which are all properly cited from newspaper articles and publications.

I understand the rules for biographies are more regulated than any other type of article, but I believe this article steadily meets the criteria of a notable person mentioned in the news, newspapers and on the internet.

I motion to keep this article.

Of course, the main reason of my AfD nomination is to obtain more opinions. Personally I think your article fails this criterion: The person has made a widely recognized contribution that is part of the enduring historical record in his or her specific field. Hi Singingdaisies. Troupová isn't the best known singer in the Czech Republic, but I think she meets our criteria for musicians. The article is very badly translated version of this profile at the website of Collegium Musicum Brno. However, I've found other independent sources and indications of notability - she performs at early music festivals and occasionally records for notable record labels. Unfortunately, most of my sources are in Czech language. Check the articles again, please. I've also removed the prod template, I think the AfD and broader discussion would be more transparent. Hi, Vejvančický. I understand the removal of the PROD tag, but I now believe that it is an advertisement of this person's accomplishments. I'm not going to take it to AfD yet. Greetings and questions

First of all, thank you for your warm and helpful welcome to Wikipedia. I have a question about a picture that I would like to place on an article that I have created. Dr. Edward F. Hills was an important contributor to the TR/KJV issue. There were no articles on him, so I took it upon myself to write something about him. I've got to polish up my article (and right now I am not in my office where I can do some serious citations of facts about the man). My question is...how or who may I speak to, in order to legally place his picture on the article? The picture that I have is the one located at the back of his famous book: The King James Version Defended. He, of course, is dead, so how may I go about legally doing this? I really would like to place a picture of the man, and it makes for a better article right? I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you and have a great rest of the week. Kona Brewing Company

Hi Vejvancicky, I helped update Kona Brewing Company's site and then an editor recently said it sounded like it was written by the company's marketing dept. It wasn't; it was written by me from a lot of sources I pulled information from. Since I got that message last week, I have gone in changed some of the language, but mostly tied a lot of the information to citations and online references. Do you mind taking a look at it now and letting me know if you think it is strong enough now with all the references I added for me to remove the <under construction> heading? Hello Plantsuit. Your improvement of this "beer article" is really good, it is much better than the previous version. You also improved sourcing and I think the {{refimprove}} template is superfluous. If you finished your work on it, you can remove the <under construction> tag, of course. I've found also this edit by User:Gentgeen. I have to admit, that the note in his edit summary is valid. Some of the claims and quotations in the sections Company History and Beer Recipes and Sourcing are not encyclopedic, in my opinion. The examples are here:
  • "A mahogany log lifted from the shores of Kailua Bay (used to adorn the acacia koa wood bar) and rusty corrugated tin from an old distillery helped transform the ink-smudged pressroom into a little hops-flavored oasis,"
  • "the Kona Brewery has been a local favorite practically since it opened. Good food, good local beer (go for the sampler and try them all), and an outdoor patio with nightly live music acts make sure it stays that way."
  • According to Davis, the strategy was simple: “Make sure we made great beer, get it to market, and hand out coasters."
You provide citations, which is good, however, I think that encyclopedic article should stay as informative as possible and should avoid "promotional" tone. It is better to write in a neutral and descriptive way, even if you love that beer :) This is just my opinion. Have a good day. --Vejvančický (talk) 08:58, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi Zhang He. The nominated article was a clumsy redirect created by a new user. In my opinion, the article Maestro Wilson Fonseca Airport should be renamed to Santarém Airport, however, it is valid and meets our notability criteria. The {{db-company}} tag was incorrect. Rapsódia na záhorácke motívy

I still think you should develop your article as a section of Malaysia – New Zealand relations. It would be better than split up the information into many little articles. Hello Alis. The article was nominated for deletion as a test page by User:JMS Old Al. I disagree with his rationale and I've removed the tag. I attempted to support your claims with informations found in the links which you provided, and I added another sources in English language. This is surely not a speedy deletion candidate. Thanks for your help. I think the citation markup used in Wikipedia is very hard for a newcomer to use, especially those who are not tech-savvy. I suppose you are right that there should have been a direct citation, but I did provide a source to verify it, and can probably provide more if need be. I agree, the citation templates could be a bit confusing for a newbie. You can simply add the link to your source <ref>here</ref> and put the Wiki markup {{Reflist}} at the bottom of the article.

Because you interacted with User:Alis grave nil, you unwittingly became a participant in WP:NEWT. I apologize for any inconvenience caused by my edits under that name. However, I sincerely believe that looking at the way new users are treated, and where we can improve, will be beneficial to Wikipedia in the long run. Why is my band page up for "Speedy Deletion"? I put up the necessary info! I don't have any singles that have played on the radio. So what. You're probably right that it ultimately can't be kept; the guy probably really isn't notable enough for Wikipedia. But it seems very aggressive (see WP:BITE) to nominate it for deletion only a few minutes after creation. Thanks for your recommendations, Angr. I nominate articles for CSD only when I'm absolutely sure that they are hopeless. The article deals with living person and contains pretty bold - unreferenced - claims. Usually I'm trying to add reliable sources by myself, but I can't find any sources confirming the notability of this subject. Dear Mr. Vejvančický once again thanks for your most recent comments and valuable support. I am not very sure where I should continue the discussion re the article concerning myself as well as the one on the subject of Terezín, but I only wish to re-affirm to you that I would be delighted to participate on an article on Terezín. I have a lot of literature on the subject myself, I know quite a few musicologists, historians and authors who are devoted to the topic and there are still Terezín survivors who could comment first-hand. My answer to your question is an unequivocal Yes, but I shall leave all the initiative to yourself as my knowledge of how to tackle anything on Wikipedia is clearly somewhat flawed.

Looks OK, I tweaked a bit. A query - 200,000 Gambian dalasi corresponding to about D9500....a maximum sentence of D250,000 It looks to me as if the 9500 can't be D (dalasi) since hat doesn't make sense. Speedy deletion...

Greetings Vejvančický - I realise that in a perfect world, and given all the time in the universe to do things right, a speedy deletion template should adjust perfectly to the "crime" committed. But surely it's better to leave the original speedy deletion tag in place and let the corresponding administrator decide whether to delete as per request or divert it accordingly?

Changing the template as you did just ensures that the page is up longer than necessary and takes time away from other useful stuff that can be done. In the case in point, "nonsense" is what was on the page and I tagged it as such. What criteria do you have for supposing Omar Akbar is a real person? Hello Technopat. I re-tagged the article when it contained only the date of birth and unknown date of death. Later I noticed that the page creator added nonsense remark about subject's death in 2011 (?). However, I apply the {{db-nonsense}} tag mainly to absolutely incomprehensible articles, as the template contains this text: ...consisting purely of incoherent text or gibberish with no meaningful content or history. This does not include poor writing, vandalism, material not in English, badly translated material, hoaxes, etc. In this case, the {{db-vandalism}} would be useful as well. Sorry for the confusion. Note that the page was deleted as a test page. My take of it is that it was created by the person about themself, and wasn't necessarily an attack page. I'm not sure, but I think there was a full name of that person in this article. I can't judge perfectly who created it, this is an anonymous online world. If I see a name of a person together with claims like "he hates school" or "he likes to say fuck everything", then it is very close to a personal attack. Sorry for the confusion. Hello Vejvančický: Thank you for asking me about the Czech Christmas Mass. I didn't know this work and now I must get a recording. I've made some changes – feel free to revert anything you think necessary.

In the opening paragraph "Czech background" needs to be clarified; does "background" mean "setting", "adaptation", "version", "description", ...? Maybe this should be "...the work has a rather pastoral character with weight on the Czech description of the nativity."?

About my page

The page was not deleted, it was just redirected to the List of characters in the Kirby series#Meta Knight according to consensus. If you want to recreate the stand alone article, please, look at previous discussions at Talk:Meta Knight and Talk:List_of_characters_in_the_Kirby_series#Meta_Knight for better information. You can also ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games. I've also noted the sourcing of your article: [1][2][3][4][5]

There are some problems to this:
  1. I have left a message on the talk page, but I haven't gotten a reply
  2. It says that disscusion of the page's merge should be disscused on the page it was redirected to. However, on that page, it says disscusion should be placed on the talk page of the meta knight article.
  3. On the talk page, very few people agreed with the merge/redirect and most wanted to undo it.
  4. I'm not very good at citing sources, as said on my user page. I can only make ones like on the reflist.

Daniel Mamora

You had previously nominated Daniel Mamora for deletion due to sourcing and non-verifiability. I've speedied it because a cursory examination shows it to be a complete hoax. According to his own statement, he's a K-12 student claiming to have worked on The Price Is Right and currently at KBIG-FM; there's no record of either.
