Zayed Bin Waleed(born 16 April 2002) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Kerala Blasters FC in the Indian Super League.

Career[edit]

Early career[edit]

Born in Kozhikode, Kerala, it was Zayed's father who spotted his talent at an early age and took him to the Manchester United Academy in the UAE. From there, he joined the Manchester City F.C. EDS and Academy and was called up to their developmental squad. Later, he joined the Al Ethihad Sports Academy, where he met Sahal Abdul Samad who was his senior. The passion for football that his dad cultivated helped Zayed get into the Du LaLiga High-Performance Centre (HPC). They helped the teenager further explore his talent.

Zayed is a midfielder who is comfortable with the ball at his feet and can play all across the attacking band of three. After his 12th grade was completed, he signed up with a football agency and he attracted interest from ISL clubs Jamshedpur FC, Kerala Blasters and I-League side Indian Arrows.

In a rather unprecedented move, Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters FC have roped in Dubai-based Calicut-born midfielder Zayed bin Waleed for the 2019-20 season. Zayed will join the Blasters from the Dubai-based du LaLiga High Performance Centre U-18 team.
