Re:Run[edit]

Re:Run is a 3d sword fighting platformer for PC .The game was developed in three days for the Brackeys Gamejam by the well known youtuber Dani. The main theme of the game is "rewind" which is applied whenever you pick up a power-up which will warped you to the spawn. The game is mostly played for speed running now, having an active of about fifty speed runners and a large fanbase for the game.

Gameplay[edit]

In Re:Run you will make your way through well designed maps while engaging in combat with enemies and collecting power-ups such as double jump, rewind, and a sword. The enemies you fight are goofy looking characters, but don't let their appearance get the best of you, they will show no mercy when attacking you. You can counter their attacks by hitting them with your own sword and blocking their attacks. Re:Run focuses on platforming while at the same time fighting. The many abilities you pick help complete the levels or simply make them beatable.

Enemies[edit]

There are two types two types of enemies in Re:Run, the first being the swordsman, having two variations of it, minus bosses, being the stationary swordsman and the mobile swordsman. The swordsman, implied by his name, wields a sword. The sword damage from both variants can kill you in three hits. To kill both variants of the swordsman, it will take either five normal sword hits or three throwing sword hits.

The second enemy in Re:Run is the archer, which has only one variant wielding a bow and arrow. It can kill you in two hits. But you, however, can two hit it with normal sword attacks or hit it with one throwing sword attack to kill it.

Bosses[edit]

There are two types of bosses in Re:Run, you can tell if they're a boss if they are colored blue. The first boss is the archer with only one variant. He has the same statistics as the normal archer, but is colored blue, making it a boss. The second boss is the swordsman, having two variants. The first variant, the shorter one, is the same size as a normal enemy but is more resistant to damage as he can take seven normal sword hits and four throwing sword hits. The enemy itself can kill you in three hits. The second variant is the taller swordsman. He is a very tanky enemy being able to withstand eleven normal sword hits and six throwing hits. The taller swordsman can kill you in two hits, so be careful fighting him.

Speedrunning[edit]

Speedrunning this game requires lots of patience, precision, and overall skill. For instance, you can skip large portions of maps by using a large variety of glitches, which can greatly affect your time in a level, but require lots of precision. The fastest speedrun is held by SilverSR with the time of 1m 14s 500s, just barely beating Noob.'s run of 1m 14s 700ms. People are still active speedrunning this game and there is a Discord server dedicated to Re:Run speedrunning.

Customization[edit]

There are multiple ways to customize your experience on the game, the most notable being the settings menu, having a volume, sensitivity, and FOV slider while also having a camera shake and graphics toggle. Another fun way to customize the gameplay is through user-made mods. There are two well known mods for Re:Run, the first being a gun replacing the sword, and the other having many cheats such as slowmo, noclip, and kill all enemies.

Music[edit]

Re:Run has one soundtrack that plays on loop through the entire game, it is made by Neo Nomen who is also working on music for another game of Dani's called Karlson.
