The Syro-Malabar Rite of Preparation follows the Homily.

During the Karozutha the celebrant goes to the Bethgazza on the left side of the altar. The server brings incense. While the chalice is being incensed the celebrant prays:

"Lord our God! Make this chalice fragrant like the chalice of Aaron, the High priest in the tabernacle of the covenant, in the name of the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. Amen."

While pouring wine into the chalice in the form of a cross the celebrant prays:

"The precious blood is being poured into the Chalice of Christ our Lord, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen."

"One of the soldiers peirced the side of Our Lord with a spear. Immediately there came out blood and water. He who saw it has born witness. And his witness is true. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen."

Pouring water into the wine, the celebrant prays:

"The wine is mixed with water and the water with wine. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen."

Proceeding to the Bethgazza on the right side of the altar; and incensing the paten the celebrant prays:

Lord our God! Make this paten fragrant like the paten of Aaron, the High priest in the tabernacle of the covenant, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen."

While placing the bread in the paten, the celebrant prays:

This paten is being signed with the Sacred Body of our Lord Jesus Christ. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen."

The celebrant recites the following at the end of the Karozutha with extended hands:

"Lord Almighty God! We humbly implore You. Fill us with your merciful grace. Pour forth your gifts through our hands. May Your blessings and grace obtain forgiveness of debts and remission of sins for the flock You have chosen in your infinite mercy. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Lord of all, forever."

The people respond:

"Amen."

The server says:

"Bless us O Lord. Brothers and Sisters, Bow your heads for the imposition of hands and receive the blessing."

Everyone bows. The celebrant bows and recites the following prayer in a low voice:

(On Sundays and feast days)

"Lord Almighty God! Yours is the Holy Catholic Church, the flock, redeemed through the passion and suffering of your Anointed Son. Through the Grace of the Holy Spirit, who is one in Divine Being with You, the orders of true priesthood are conferred through the imposition of hands. In Your great mercy, You have made us worthy --- weak and lowly though we are --- to be distinctive members of Your mystical body, the Church, to minister to the faithful. Lord, fill us with Your mercy and grace and pour forth Your blessings through our hands. May Your mercy and blessings be on us and on this Your chosen people."

(On weekdays and during Lent)

"Lord our God! Extend Your merciful right hand over the universal and apostolic Church. Protect it from every danger, visible and invisible. In Your compassion make us worthy to minister in Your presence with devotion, diligance and purity."
