User:Retrolord/GA Competition

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The contest department of the Good Articles WikiProject aims to motivate increased quality in Good Article Reviews by offering a form of friendly competition for reviewers. The contest consists of a rolling competition that awards points for conducting reviews.

How it works[edit]

The contest is simple in structure and administered by the contest judges.

  • The contest runs from the first to last day of each month. Entrants list reviews that they opened in the same round of the contest, and have until the end of the round to finish the review
  • Once a review is complete, post it to the Entries section below, for review by a judge
  • To be eligible for points, a review must contain at a minimum 1000B of prose
  • Entrants will receive 1 point per eligible review
  • Early the following month, once all submitted reviews are certified and counted, results will be posted.
  • No contestant may have more than 5 open reviews listed with the contest at any one time, unless they are granted special leave to do so by the judges
  • The judges reserve to disqualify contestants or reviews as they see fit to preserve the integrity of the competition

Prizes[edit]

  • First Place recieves xxx
  • Second Place recieves xxx
  • Third Place recieves xxx
  • The xxx is rewarded for entrants earning over 10 points
  • The xxx is rewarded for entrants earning over 5 points

Proposal 2[edit]

Every second or third month, instead of the above competition, we would have a backlog drive instead. It mixes it up a bit so the competition doesn't get too stale, and its been a while since we have had any sort of co-ordinated backlog drive. Thoughts?
