My name is Ali Arya but my friends and family call me Ramin. I was born in Iran in 1966, from 1998 to August 2006 lived in Vancouver, Canada, and since then I'm in Ottawa working at Carleton University, School of Information Technology. I received my PhD from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of British Columbia. My research and technical interests are social user interfaces, computer graphics and animation, multimedia systems, and everything about the Internet. Personally, I am into arts (especially painting and cinema), science fiction, music (especially rock music), and cooking.
