Charitytick.com is a fundraising website for IRS non-profit approved 501(c)3 Organizations and Charities, offering them a platform on which to hold penny auctions for a wider demographic.

Founder and History[edit]

In June of 2011, the beginnings of Charitytick began to take form.

It's founder, Zalman Saadya notik, born in July of 1990, is a business entrepreneur looking to use his business skills to help non-profit organizations. [1] [2] Attracting what becomes the Organizations most loyal donors and offering an easier and more fun process for people looking to give according to their budgets, Charitytick.com[6] has become a whirlwind of more members signing up every half hour.

Business[edit]

The quality items auctioned off go for nominal amounts at 60 cents a bid, upping the price of the item by one penny for each bid. There is no reserve to be met and the price can only reach it's MSRP[[7]]. 87% of auction sales are allotted to the Organizations hosting them. 10% go towards website maintenance cost, and 3% towards credit card processing.

Bidders are also given a menu of organizations so that it is up to them to decide where the money they bid will benefit. The money raised for each Organization has so far reached over $50,000, and counting.

Notable Projects[edit]

The broad range of causes supported on the site include educational, medical, volunteer, humane, religious, disaster relief, and more. Among them are:

Insulin pumpers[edit]

An Organization [8] dedicated to diabetics, and supplying them with the emergency equipment needed. Infants to Older Aged adults from across the globe have been lovingly serviced by this Non-Profit.

Save one person[edit]

Charitytick users have been steadily raising money to allow Save One Person[9] to donate organs and save lives, with every rare and crucial opportunity they come upon.

Life vest inside[edit]

An organization strictly run by volunteers who believe in the cause of simple but powerful spreading of acts of kindness, Life Vest Inside[10] was founded by Orly Wahba [3] [4] [5] in September of 2010 and has been recently nominated as speaker for both the national and international TED conferences for 2012.

The Aliyah Institute[edit]

A homeless shelter for wayward youth established in Crown Heights has plans to enlarge and renovate property to become state-of-the-arts. The teenagers there have been plucked from the streets and given rehab or medical treatment if necessary, GED courses, jobs, and a loving environment.[11] The head of the institute, Rabbi Moishe Feiglin, not to be confused with the Israeli Politician Moshe Feiglin, has made news as of recent. He joined Charitytick.com to accumulate the funds necessary for the goals set.

Charitytick.com has also been a significant resource for organizations affected by current natural disasters like Hurricane Sandy.

The Bach Jewish Center[edit]

The Bach Jewish Center,[12] a religious center that accommodated to a community of people by the thousands, as well as the home of it's Rabbi and family, has been destroyed in the wake of the Hurricane. The center, and home, offering it's community and visitors a place to sleep, eat, and share in educational, therapeutic, and social events, has been subsequently halted. A website called Fundrazr.com was contacted to help accumulate donors and Charitytick.com has been elicited as well, to bring in the emergency money needed in the small time-frame given. The Center and Home have since been able to take steps towards recovery.

Under my Wing Avian Refuge[edit]

UMWAR,[13] a Shelter for exotic pet birds who have been neglected by their previous owners, has been challenged by the the effects of the hurricane as well, with the home for these birds dilapidated and in desperate need of a comeback. Charitytick has been instrumental in its rebuilding possibilities.
