User:R. fiend/28 Random Pages Test

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Much like the many 10 Random Pages Tests I've seen, this is a 28 Random Pages Test I had on my user page for a while, and am now putting in a separate page for others to see. I did this almost exactly a year ago, as it turns out (this being December 2005, it was done in December 2004). There are 28 articles because I got bored with it after that many.

  1. Tony Pulis - a UK football manager. Called a stub, but it's really (in my mind) a short article. Sure, more could be added, but it says enough about someone of his importance. Removed stub tag. Not a bad article. (perhaps more on my annoyance with people who can't tell the difference between short article and stub later)
  2. Rikako Aikawa - stub on a seiyu. Man, we have alot of anime stuff here. Oh well.
  3. Leapfrog Enterprises Inc - very short stub. Almost an ad.
  4. Heterosis - looks like a pretty good article.
  5. b2\cafelog - Some computer thing. I read the article and still don't really know what it is.
  6. John Sasso - useless substub. Orphan. VfD fodder? I'll check later.
  7. Bill Archer (Manitoba politician) - minor politician. Looks OK.
  8. Communist Workers Party (USA) -- could use expansion.
  9. Connecticut Compromise - good article by all appearances.
  10. Arjan De Zeeuw - dutch footballer (I think this search so far is likely overrepresenting football; but being random, that happens. I don't think it's overall representative of WP). Article looks fine.
  11. Warka - badly formatted geo-stub. Fixed formatting; tagged as stub.
  12. Andrew Onderdonk - strange article. Some 19th century Canadian construction contractor. His only claim to fame seems to be he use of Chinese laborers. 1 legit link to it. Oh well.
  13. Clarence W. Barron - bio stub
  14. Sound server - very external link heavy, with 16. Article itself is only about 50 words.
  15. Branding (law) - Pretty good article, it seems. EB 1911. Not sure if it's an adaptation or a cut and paste.
  16. German 1st Parachute Division - I don't think anyone will ever accuse us of not having anough information on World War II (though the Ernst Roehm article could use a little expansion).
  17. DESQview - computer program. Never much cared for articles like this. No matter.
  18. Winfield Dunn - Tennessee gov. Seems complete without being too long.
  19. Farinelli Il Castrato - movie article. Could use a few touch-ups.
  20. Dairy farming - about what you'd expect from an article on dairy farming. Labeled a stub, but don't think it's quite short or incomplete enough.
  21. Stevens Point, Wisconsin - surprised it took ne so long to hit a Rambot article (actually it's only partially Rambot). These things are generally dry as all hell, but they serve a purpose. This one's a bit more interesting than many.
  22. UEFA Jubilee Awards - those who don't like lists won't like this. Altered article so it actually said what the UEFA is.
  23. Breaker Morant - very long article. Can't really be bothered to read it.
  24. Phillips - disambig, almost all redlinks though.
  25. Four fours - looks like an interesting an well-written article.
  26. Robert Baltovich - Candian murderer. Looks fine.
  27. Animalcule - almost a dicdef, but enough links to make it worthwhile.
  28. Civilization III - computer game. Closest I've come to fancruft, though as a major game this doesn't qualify. I'm pretty sure I'll find many links to fancruft from here, however.

Well, not too bad, really. If a first time user came got these results I don't think their overall opnion of wikipedia would be bad. Lowest point had to be John Sasso. Something should be done about that. (Note: article has been fixed since this was written)
